These are 12 of the books that have made the biggest impact on my life over the years ๐ Since I was young, I've loved reading non-fiction books that could help me improve my life one way or another, whether it's physically or mentally. The one book that started my journey down the path of non-fiction was one that my dad gave me when I was about 13 or 14, called the Wealthy Barber. This book ingrained in my mind the importance of saving and the huge impact that little amounts of money can have on your bank account when accumulated over time. One that I believe should be read in school, teaching kids the basics of saving money and how important it is! Seeing how much impact this book had on my life from such a young age, it made me want to dive further into reading any informative book I could find. Whether it was about mindset, meditation, financial, neuroplasticity, business, fitness, breath work, etc. I wanted to absorb all the information I could! Reading is a very slow process for me because it usually puts me to sleep after a long day of work but with the invention of @audible for books and @spotify for podcasts, I've been able to tear through unlimited information on my long drives to and from work without falling asleep. A lot of these books I have listened to, two or three times over the years because I find them so informative and sometimes give me that little boost that I need or a reminder of a practical tip I had forgotten about. ๐ซHappy Hump Day!๐ซ One of my many theories is that we engage doom scrolling or end up procrastinating on essential tasks because we want to escape something difficult or challenging. ๐๐ฝYup, guilty over here. One thing Iโve been trying to do is to use airplane mode when engaging deep work, which has helped with getting pulled by the dings and buzzes of my phone. But Iโve also been trying to notice when I have a strong urge to pick it up. I ask myself what Iโm finding challenging or difficult at the moment and find that just by asking the question it helps me to refocus on the task at hand. Or if it is something that needs to be done, I can jot it down to tackle next. We all want to avoid dark and difficult times, and tasks, & thatโs okay. Weโre human! But maybe if we realize that it is helping to give us teachable moments, helping to hone our skills, build character, we can learn to see our way through them. What is the seed in all this?
