📚Book Review: Their Days are Like Grass by: Cameron Rogers 🎨 Summary: Armond is an artist preparing for his first gallery and he's not even close to finishing...he needs someone to help someone to get him going, and that someone is Rose. The two form such a bond that together...they can't tackle each other's struggles. 🖌 To say that I devoured this story is an understatement. I also haven't read a lot of stories with the FMC being transgender, so I was looking forward to this one. A huge thank you to @booktasters_ for the chance to read and review. 🎨 Armand broke my heart at how much he really suffered with the death of his parents and believed it was his fault. I just wanted to hug him! He adored Rose and the way he responds to Rose when she said she was transgender...he literally went, umm okay was that the secret? Cause I still love you. Lol! Loved it! 🖌 Rose was such a beautiful character. I love how she carried herself and despite not telling her parents of her transitioning, she was till so blunt and together. Her and Armond made such a great pair together. 🎨 Some parts did drag like Rose testing out a game and it kind of went on for a while, doesn't happen often but if you're not a huge gamer then it's kind of long. I got through it though so I won't fully complain. 🖌 I'll definitely give this 4 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 and there are mentions death of parents, and mental health. Nothing overly heavy but keep that in mind. 📚🏀 RESEÑA: COLABORACIÓN. 🏀📚 Hoy os traigo la reseña del último libro que he leído, y que aunque ha habido cosas que me han faltado, me ha gustado. Lo primero que quiero hacer es dar las gracias a @librosylit por el envío del ejemplar. Este es un libro bastante sencillo de leer, con capítulos cortos que lo terminas enseguida. Es perfecto para leer en un fin de semana, por ejemplo en verano. En el nos encontramos con a Luis, que llega al pueblo en el que a heredado una casa, y su vida cambia. Nada más llegar conoce a una mujer increíble y también empezara a trabajar como entrenador de baloncesto, de unos chavales. Por otro lado Lucia es directora de un colegio. Ella tiene decidido dejar el puesto y el pueblo, a finales de curso. Pero después de conocer a Luis, puede que sus planes cambien. Los dos personajes se complementan y tienen un pasado complicado. Pero es una historia bonita. Me ha gustado mucho la manera de escribir del autor, y también la premisa, que fue lo que más me llamó la atención. Lo único negativo que voy a decir, es que me parece que hay demasiada trama con respecto al baloncesto, que se come un poco el romance. Por eso en mi caso, me ha costado algo más terminar el libro. Pero por lo demás es un buen libro, ideal para el verano. Algo ligerito por ejemplo para leer entre libros algo más densos, o de fantasía. Os dejo la reseña del libro publicada en mi blog. 📕 «Breo. El celta que desafió a Roma» 🖌 Francisco Narla 📚 @edhasa_libros_con_historia . . “La crueldad no tiene patria. La desesperación no tiene fronteras. Por terrible que sea el castigo, siempre hay algo más allá del horizonte” . . Ya hace un tiempo que @raquel_porcasualidad tenía este libro en el punto de mira, así que cuando se propuso, #lasrules fuimos de cabeza. Galicia, celtas, Breogán… ¿Qué podía fallar? Aunque @raquel_porcasualidad no cayó en este error, y @e_n_c_a_r, @cristi_lectora y @me_he_comprado_un_libro no conocían la historia de Breogán, @mirecunchofeliz y yo pensábamos que íbamos a leer una historia sobre Breogán, el mítico rey celta que unificó los clanes celtas de Galicia y fundó Brigantia (A Coruña). Cuando ya llevábamos unas cuantas páginas, descubrimos que no, y esto para nosotras fue un absoluto bajón. Pero bueno, reconozco que eso fue problema nuestro. Sí hay cosas que me han gustado del libro. Para empezar, la temática. Una es débil, y la sangre celta corre por sus venas, así que todo lo que tenga que ver con el pasado galaico celta, es tremendamente atrayente. Por otro lado, el enfoque, el contar la historia del pueblo celta y su lucha contra Roma. Roma tuvo muchas virtudes sobre nuestra civilización, pero claro, eso supuso la aniquilación de muchos pueblos, de bárbaros que fueron sometidos a Roma, esclavizados o directamente asesinados. La historia de los reprimidos desde su punto de vista es de lo más interesante. Ahora bien… El libro reconozco que no ha sido para mí. Excesivamente descriptivo en ocasiones, un lenguaje demasiado lírico, con saltos espaciales que me desubicaban y que hacían que me perdiese en la trama… Reconozco que probablemente hubiese abandonado la lectura de no ser porque lo leí con #lasrules. Eso sí, esta es solo mi opinión y puede que simplemente me cogiese con el pie cambiado por esa decepción inicial de que Breo no era Breogán. Es un libro que tiene muy buenas críticas y quizá yo no haya sabido disfrutarlo. ¿Lo conocíais? ¿Os ha pasado alguna vez que se desinfle la lectura por un error como el mío?

Il semblerait que la mère de celle-ci ait accouché dans un foyer pour mères célibataires et ait laissé des indices pour trouver ses origines. Coïncidence parfaite, les indices conduisent en Italie où la jeune femme part justement effectuer un stage chez un vigneron. J'ai trouvé l'histoire dépaysante et intéressante notamment en ce qui concerne le vin, mais le contexte historique n'est pas très présent, et la relation entre Lily et le jeune homme qu'elle rencontre parait plutôt convenue. J'ai trouvé qu'il y avait énormément de similitudes avec la saga de Lucinda Riley (6 personnes à qui ont remet chacun une boite mystérieuse contenant un indice sur leurs origines, et une 7ème boîte qui ne trouve pas preneur…, une double temporalité, un destin de femme potentiellement grandiose, une histoire d'amour contrariée….) mais sans en égaler le niveau bien qu'elle reste intéressante et très agréable à lire. But with maturity, I’ve started to question: do these fantastical tales of love truly reflect reality? but it’s this very thought that drew me to You Belong With Me, hoping to see a glimpse into love’s complexities beyond the silver screen. Siddharth is overloaded with ambitions and responsibilities when he meets Alia, sparking a new chapter in his life. Despite memories of his past love, Siya, Siddharth finds himself drawn to Alia, gradually succumbing to his emotions. Unbeknownst to him, Alia is suffering from a heartbreak of her own. The two kindred spirits find solace in each other until the weight of familial expectations and the allure of a promising future begin to strain their connection. I feel the author has a potential to rise to the ranks of literal stardom with a bit of honest criticism. So here it is : The book’s breezy writing style makes it an easy read. It feels effortless, perfect for someone dipping their toes into the world of novels for the first time. However, this simplicity carries over to the plot, which unfolds in a predictable way. I craved more depth, but then that’s just me. While the poetry exudes beauty, its integration with the prose feels disjointed. Additionally, while Alia and Sid’s characters are crafted with depth, they occasionally come across as immature in their portrayal. Maybe that can be owed to falling in love. We all become stupid. While I did find aspects of the book enjoyable, I must admit that it didn’t fully capture my heart. 📖Lying in Wait - Liz Nugent📖 “Lydia Fitzsimons lives in the perfect house with her adoring husband and beloved son. There is just one thing Lydia yearns for to make her perfect life complete, though the last thing she expects is that pursuing it will lead to murder. However, needs must - because nothing can stop this mother from getting what she wants…” 📚 Oh my god what a read. It was intense, it was gripping and truly messed up. It really makes you wonder what in the name of god goes through people’s heads sometimes. Lydia well and truly needed to see a professional because that woman was not well at all. Like she had a severely unhealthy relationship with her big old house and then the need for another child. The lengths she was willing to go to and expect her husband to go to… and think it normal or ok? How she got married in the first place is beyond me but anyway. You hear about mothers and their sons and toxic boy moms but Christ on bike this was a wildly unhealthy example of this. She had severe attachment issues. 📚 I feel so sorry for like everyone in this book whose life was affected by Lydia. Nobody deserved what happened to them because of her. I actually don’t have the words to describe how horrendously this woman behaved. I am actually surprised how Laurence didn’t have some form of complex because of the way he was treated as a child and somehow grew up normal enough like. But he did not deserve to end up the way he did. For contemporary books, I see spoiler warnings whenever they give more details, but I almost never see it for classics. 📖BOOK REVIEW📖 Taming 7- Chloe Walsh🏉👫💌🥲 This was one of my most anticipated reads of the whole year, the boys of Tommen series is one of my favourites ever and I was so excited to read Claire and Gibsie’s story! I loved how their friendship was explored through the book and I was obsessed with how close they were with one another, one of the best things about this book was the love that the two main characters had for eachother, Chloe Walsh certainly knows how to write about unconditional love and I really loved her writing. I also loved the found family aspects of the boys of Tommen friendships, they are so loyal to each other and the friendship between Gibsie and Johnny was just unmatched. However, there were a few things that I didn’t love in this book. Like the other books in the series this one had lots of trigger warnings and I would advise anyone to make sure they were ready to read about these before starting this book, saying this I don’t feel i can discuss the ways that certain characters in this book dealt with distressing topics! But that being said I was so conflicted with Lizzie’s character, she was awful in this book and treated her friends really badly however I am looking forward to seeing her POV in the next books and understanding her emotions. The second thing I didn’t love about this book was the way that Gibsies trauma was told to his friends, I won’t go into too much detail because I don’t want to spoil anything but I really wish it had been uncovered on his own terms when he was ready. I also felt the ending was quite rushed and I would’ve liked to see more of Gibsies growth like we saw with Shannon in Keeping 13. Even with these considered this book was beautiful and showed a raw depiction of eternal love. I also think it discussed important topics such a mental health and trauma. The Other Tenant - Lesley Kara Swipe for synopsis 》》》 Property Guardian Marlow has been moving around temporary stays for some time, but when she is given yhe opportunity to join a group of PG's at a school she knows very well, which soon to be redeveloped, she junks at the chance to address some demons from her past. She is also drawn in to the mystery of what happened to the girl she is replacing as her leaving is a bit suspicious and, sith parts of the school out of bounds, she can't help but start investigating. This was a very slow-burn of a read with a lot of characters to follow, non of which were very easy to connect with. Book 401: "A Lady's Guide to Marvels and Misadventure," by Angela Bell A delightful travelogue/comedy/romance, Theodore, Clara, and her mother (and some fox babies, and a live ermine, and a turtle) are on a scavenger hunt on the continent to find Clara's grandfather. The sites and history the journey presents are well-balanced with the inner journey of the main characters, as well as the slow-burn romance, and the underlying menace of an antagonist who trails in their footsteps. "Balance" is a great way to describe this book. There are deep conversations and inner dialogues that are adorned by moments of physical comedy. The history and site-seeing are detailed but also paced slowly enough so that you don't get lost. Tiny Moments is a very special book. It's a collection of poetry written by my brilliant friend @jennybeattie. It came about when she signed up for a challenge to write a poem every day for 21 days, which would then be published as a book. Each poem is a snapshot of a tiny moment in time during the pandemic; of parenthood, friendship, the frustrations, the things we missed, the people we love. They are playful, poignant and utterly beautiful. 'Eye-Level' made me cry and 'Gravy' made me guffaw. I've bought this book for countless friends and will buy it for many more. Da Vita di Pi, non mi era più capitato di leggere romanzi indiani, fossi ho pensato di approcciarmi alla letteratura di questo Paese immenso ripartendo da una delle più famose scrittrici. Lo stile è certamente particolare e accattivante, con l'uso di Roy di un lessico familiare ad uso esclusivo dei due gemelli protagonisti della narrazione. La storia pure, si concentra molto sulla questione delle caste e delle generazioni dei giovani degli anni '90, che studiavano in Inghilterra e si proclamava comunisti, quando in realtà perpetravano gli usi classisti dei loro genitori. C'è la confusione delle saghe familiari, tanta violenza, comune anche ad altri romanzi indiani, tanto colore, ma non quello delle fotografie gentilmente disordinate a misura di Occidente.

Takie, według mojej własnej myśli? Właśnie po zakończeniu książki "Jeśli jesteśmy złoczyńcami", wielokrotnie takie pytanie sobie zadawałam. Cóż mogę powiedzieć? I'm not the same anymore. "Exeunt omnes" kochani. Kocham książki, a także filmy Dark Academia. Uderzają one inaczej, niż romantasy, które uwielbiam. Jest to coś wspaniałego, móc czytać takie książki. Od pierwszej strony lektura mnie wciągnęła. Sprawiła, że zatraciłam się w tych literkach na papierze. "Jeśli jesteśmy złoczyńcami" opowiada o siedmiu studentach aktorstwa, którzy przepełnieni są talentem i ambicją. Łączy ich przyjaźń, lecz z czasem zamienia się to w brutalną rywalizację. W pewnym momencie sztuka powoduje, że jeden z aktorów, ginie, a reszta przyjaciół musi przekonać policję, że są niewinni. Ale, czy aby na pewno? Gdy tajemnice wychodzą na jaw, tworzy się napięcie i wiele emocji w czytelniku. Zawiłe warstwy fabuły płynnie się przeplatają, a złożone relacje między bohaterami dodają opowieści głębi. Moja opinia? TAK. TOTALNIE TAK. RELACJE, SZTUKA, AMBICJE- to, to co w niej znajdziecie. Bohaterowie zawładnęli moim sercem, a zwłaszcza Oliver i James. Ich przyjaźń to coś, o czym myślę i myślę. Mogę stwierdzić, że ostatnio nie czytałam czegoś, aż tak dobrego. Ta powieść to bogactwo, to złoże przeróżnych, pięknych cytatów, o których czytający, nie będzie w stanie zapomnieć. Rating: ⭐️ Why Read: It has very good messages, funny characters, and overall just an entertaining plot. This book is a hot mess. The timeline from chapter to chapter is chaotic, there are no real character development arcs, there isn’t actually a plot either, and the ending is random and abrupt. The characters feel like cardboard cutouts and I didn’t care what happened to them after a while. It’s just not well written. I honestly don’t know why this book is so popular. Czy musimy czekać do pełnego debiutu... 🤔🤔 Jeszcze rok temu wydanie nawet krótkiego opowiadania znajdowało się w strefie marzeń, a niedawno podpisałyśmy umowę na kolejne opowiadanie, w drugiej antologii.... 🥰🥰 Ale nic by się nie wydarzyło, gdyby nasz kochany wydawca, @studio_litera.inventa w nas nie uwierzył, bo my same nie do końca jeszcze w siebie wierzymy. Dziękujemy za wsparcie jako początkujących autorek podczas procesu wydawniczego, za cierpliwość i wyrozumiałość, za danie nam tej szansy. To pozwoliło nam zaistnieć na rynku, lepiej budować markę osobistą, zwiększyć grono czytelników. Allora mi sono rivolta al mondo di un autore affermato, vincitore di Nobel, un titolo che risuona e che in pochi non conoscono. Questo libro mi ha tenuta incollata alle sue pagine sin da subito, nonostante la scrittura di Márquez non sia tra le più semplici e scorrevoli, anzi forse questo è una delle sue opere più romanzate e facilmente leggibili, se così vogliamo dire. Ma la scrittura complessa e i periodi che a volte vanno riletti o letti con più attenzione a me non dispiacciono! La storia d’amore tra #FerminaDaza e #FlorentinoAriza corre per le pagine di tutto il romanzo, mantenendo in chi legge un senso di ansia positiva, di curiosità e di speranza per la scoperta di come andrà a finire la loro storia, del loro destino. Certaines fois, j'ai du revenir en arrière pour me souvenir des personnages 🤔🧐😕 Enfin, concernant la fin, je suis restée sur ma faim (sans jeu de mots) 😔 Le final était bien, car j'ai été très surprise, mais déçue quand j'ai tourné la page et que je me suis rendue compte que c'était la dernière. 📖 Review: King Of Wrath by @authoranahuang Dante and Vivian, as a couple, made their debut in Twisted Lies, and let me tell you, getting to experience the events of that book from their own perspectives was absolutely mind-blowing. This book exceeded all expectations and left me completely satisfied. Vivian possessed an unruly spirit, and her ability to deliver clever retorts in any circumstance was truly impressive. I admired her ability to remain composed and poised, never hesitating to speak her mind or express her emotions. Despite her parents' tight grip on her, she radiated a captivating persona that transcended their limitations. Dante, on the other hand, was a super grumpy character and didn't have any time for love. His initial plan was to remain a bachelor until he was blackmailed by Vivian's father to marry her. His and Christian's shenanigans were funny to read and Christian's cameo made this book one of my favourites. Despite their initial difficulties, I found the dynamic between Dante and Vivian captivating. This novel beautifully portrayed the journey from enemies to lovers, as their love didn't develop instantly. The arranged marriage theme, which I adore, was brilliantly executed in this book. From the beginning, it was clear that Dante had feelings for his fiancé, and the part where he got jealous over potential suitors made me laugh out loud. The banter and tension between Vivian and Dante were expertly crafted, and watching Dante struggle to overcome his past was captivating. The forced proximity added an extra layer of enjoyment to the story. Ana's portrayal of the characters' families truly highlighted her intention to present something unique. The flawed dynamics within each family added a realistic touch. This series began flawlessly. Tout comme les autres tomes, la plume de Lorea est tellement fluide et agréable à lire. Liam a traversé des épreuves difficiles dans sa vie, mais malgré cela, il a su avancer et se battre pour le meilleur. Quinn, une jeune étudiante en psychologie, va apporter un vent de fraicheur dans sa vie. Malgré le fait qu’elle soit un rayon de soleil, elle va tenter d’aider Liam à améliorer ses performances au hockey, même s’il se montre d'abord réticent. Quant à mon avis, je dois dire que j'ai une fois de plus été enchanté par cette lecture. L'univers grumpy/sunshine dans lequel évoluent les personnages m'a totalement captivé. La relation entre Liam et Quinn se construit progressivement et en douceur, nous plongeant dans un tourbillon d’émotions. Le style d'écriture du livre nous permet de ressentir pleinement les émotions des personnages et de vivre chaque instant à leurs côtés. C'est ce que j'ai particulièrement apprécié, car pendant ma lecture, j'avais l'impression de partager leurs expériences et leurs émotions. Et surtout la fin avec les bonus où on retrouve un petit peu tout le monde, c’était pour faire fondre mon petit coeur.
