Honesty moment - coming up two years ago, after the end of my last relationship, I decided no more. I was done with dating, with relationships, with planning futures that depended on someone else, and with love. I know I write a lot of poetry about love (though all of it is quite old now), so I don’t want you to think I don’t believe in the words I have written. I just no longer believe in it for me. I’m at a bit of a stumbling block in my life at the moment because for me to move towards the next goal, I need to take a step backwards and make some sacrifices. This is pretty daunting and definitely not where I expected to be, but I’m hoping ultimately it will be the right path to build my own future. I didn’t think a person was capable of taking much more from me than what has already been taken in my lifetime. You, however, exceeded that and hurt me in a way I’m honestly not sure I’ll ever be able to heal from. Who are you? The person I knew the first 7-8 months… or the person I knew at the end. See the way my brain is set up🤣 There are moments in stillness when we realize just how deep our thoughts about ourselves and our bodies run. The roots that’ve been pulled up in childbirth education classes no less run so deep to the core, mostly surround fears and the belief that our bodies are incapable of a process that we are biologically created with. The belief systems of what we believe we’re deserving of, the negative self talk or behaviors we carry and nurture almost, because of what someone said or soemthing we’ve experienced. That deep emotional impact will bury roots that will grow up into weeds that can choke any growth or good intention.
