🏥 Update on Tony 🏥 The doctors initially thought Tony only has pneumonia, based on the CT with contrast they did when he was still in the ER. But on Saturday morning, his bloodwork came back positive for BOTH MRSA and Staphylococcus aureus. Apparently it is possible to have both, which is what caused the pneumonia. That means we have to take contact precautions when coming to see him, which includes gowning and gloving up. They are loading him up with antibiotics and steroids to fight the infections. He’s also having to have twice daily baths with special soap to kill the infections. They have been able to regulate his breathing and allow him some time off the bi-pap machine, which has been causing some claustrophobia issues. They also did an ultrasound of his heart, which was really cool. PT was in today to get him up, walk around the room a bit, and check his balance. Sorry for the delay in updating everyone. Jeannie is understandably stretched thin and Tony is focused on #MaximumEffort to get better and get home. Thank you for all the texts, messages, comments, likes, and most of all prayers. Tony is trying to answer each and everyone who has commented as he feels up to it. Back on my bullshit, and better than ever Went on a pretty stupid dirty bulk, got completely derailed from my focus of being better every single day. We've been back on track since the 1st of the year, cut almost 30 pounds, look better, and feel better than ever. The best part? We're just getting started. Finally conquered the rebirth of my body dysmorphia today wearing this stringer for shoulder day Thanks to @nick.ibarra.417 for being a phenomenal coach and giving me the extra set of eyes I needed to make sure I stay dialed in, as well as make adjustments wherever necessary to keep moving towards the goalpost. Currently sitting at 205 lbs, and while I still haven't leaned out as much as I want... all I have to remind myself of to make myself proud is how I looked at 205 in the Marine Corps when I was injured and depressed about not being able to push myself. Taking my training to new heights, literally!!! This is for sure a banger of a clip, but I decided to share the pic first and give a bit of context to the jump. I've been training pk now for a year and 3 months. Jumps like this weren't on my radar. They were just something cool to see other amazing pk athletes do. I don't have a problem with heights as a skater, and I actually do some pretty outrageous gaps with my blades, but jumping from high up without skates on has always been a fear for me because the skates give so much protection and cushion for the landing. I simply never thought I'd be able to take drops as big as I do without blades, but that has changed. As soon as I saw this spot, I knew I wanted to jump off of it. No hesitation whatsoever! It's great to know your limitations, but it's even better to push past them and show yourself that your training is paying off. Stunts are always going to have that danger factor, but having the knowledge and know-how to perform them safely will help in the long run. Always prep, and check your spots!!! On 11 December, 2023, I tried to help a trio of adventurers escape @runehammer.games #ICRPG scenario, Orvald's Tower. We begin with the heroes having defeated the wizard Orvald at the top of his tower, but he has one last trick: summon a #maelstrom of #darkmagic to collapse the tower around his body and the adventurers. Everything went a bit pear-shaped from there. Like... "Can I jump through the hole to get down to the next floor?" "...yes?" "I jump down. What do I need to roll?" "I just want to check: you want to leap into the swirling purple storm of destructive magic down the center of a tower you know is six stories tall?" "Yes." "Roll DEX, #hardtarget number to catch yourself on the lip of just one floor down. Otherwise you fall to your doom. As the first action in our four-hour game session. You're 100% *sure* about this?" "Yes!" "...okay, then!" The other two split their time in the storm trying to achieve #maximumeffort (Effort being a mechanic that's "HP for tasks and not things that bleed") digging out the staircase or #looting. Then they had a problem that totally wasn't the players' fault as one of them kept getting hypnotized by the ghasts who want the players to leap to their doom into the maelstrom and join them as otherworldly spirits that feast on soul energy. Eventually they made it down to the crumbling staircase where a #clutch #nat20 got them out through falling debris and bat country faster than I expected. Then, #thefloorislava became a real problem as they got swarmed by flamekin that kept popping up from the #spawnpoint. Between some awful rolls, #mobs, and someone trying to #wallrun like he was #princeofpersia (but #nat1), we ended in a #TPK just before the clock ran out on the collapse. That's okay. It's basically a con mod designed to be #brutal and #metal (Really! DO WHAT YOU’RE GOOD AT AND WHAT YOU LOVE ❤️ I have known this for years. That’s your sweet spot : the intersection between what you have an aptitude for and what you enjoy in life are where your powers lie. (The reverse of that is to avoid things you’re bad at and don’t enjoy.) Taking our own advice is HARD. I’m curious, I want to explore life. See what I’m capable of. But, what I realized is that all of those side quests really just distract me from my purpose. They take away my focus. Lead from the Front is built on a few simple principles. If I had to boil them down, they are about what you put IN : intention, intensity, and integrity. Trying new things is great. But, it takes away your ability to keenly focus on your purpose and living in alignment to that purpose. When switching from OCB to NPC I was told by multiple people I would not be “big” enough for figure, so I panicked. I came up with a back up plan. I bought a new suit, practiced new posing, signed up for a new division. For what? To be Maine’s largest amateur bikini competitor? The thought of it still has me laughing. Jake called me “Bikini XL”. When I got off the stage my youngest said “mom. You DEFINITELY won, you had WAY more muscle than everyone else!” I said “yah, I don’t think that’s the look they were looking for bud…” The truth is - I don’t care, because it’s not what I was after. AND I was big enough. Maybe not lean enough, but enough muscle? No contest. Today during my stretching I internalized this lesson. All of the resources (time, money, energy, focus) on something I didn’t actually care about… It happened after my last show, too. I was gung-ho about doing a powerlifting meet. And all I did was injure my hip flexor for six months… When you don’t learn your lesson, the universe is bound to give it to you again. Well. I heard it this time. Loud and clear. A fire has been reignited for the next seven weeks. To give it everything I got. IT. Not five different things, just the one thing that I really want.
