I really lucked out once again today at the Opry Shop near the @opry here in Nashville. Check out the music stuff I got. First I got a fantastic t-shirt of the Man in Black himself Johnny Cash that shows several of his hit songs on it which I've always wanted to get. Next, what's inside that cardboard roll is a poster of a 2018 Opry show with Charley Pride that I've been thinking about getting for the past year and so today's the day to finally grab it. Then, I got a 2011 compilation CD of Josh Turner titled "Icon" that features many of his best known hits. Lastly, I got this fantastic 2015 book called "Grand Ole Opry Family Album: 97th Anniversary" that tells the whole History from the 1920s to modern times especially the stars who became members of the Opry through the years and to be honest I love it. At Music Valley Antiques & Marketplace, I got the following 45 singles "Rose Garden" by Lynn Anderson (1970), "Help Me Make It Through the Night" by Sammi Smith (1970), "She Needs Someone to Hold Her (When She Cries)" by Conway Twitty (1972), "Back Home Again" by John Denver (1974) & "The Games That Daddies Play" by Conway Twitty (1976) along with the vinyls "Lost in the Fifties Tonight" by Ronnie Milsap (1986) & "The Best of Jim Reeves, Volume IV" by Jim Reeves (1979). At Moons and Junes Vintage, I got the vinyls "I Love a Song" by Stonewall Jackson (1963), "Country Music Then and Now" by The Statler Brothers (1972) & another 1981 Time Life Country Music album which this time is by Marty Robbins. Last night was quite an incredible show. For the first time ever, I got to see @joan_osborne in concert after hearing so much about her music including her 1995 signature hit "One of Us" and as a matter of fact she even performed that song last night along with many other awesome songs, she's very talented. Then, @crashtestdummiesofficial finally came on stage and performed their best known classics and of course their new song "Sacred Alphabet" from last year. I truly enjoyed the show very much and I hope to catch my favorite band again next year maybe possibly at a much closer location maybe near my state or Massachusetts. Besides all that, I also got the vinyl copy of their 2002 Christmas Album "Jingle All the Way" (autographed) that was released last year that I was looking forward to getting at the show, I also got another autographed photo of the band that I can put on my wall in a frame along with 3 little rubber ducks in silver, blue and red that represent the song "How Does a Duck Know?" from their best known album "God Shuffled His Feet" (1993) and of course I got a bag with the band's name logo on it to carry everything (it all deserves to be with my music collection). Overall, I'm very happy that I went to the show and I want say well done both Joan and the Dummies performing the music and getting the crowd going. Thirdly, I found a 2014 Remastered Vinyl Copy of Cash's 1960 Studio Album "Now, There Was a Song!" Which features 1 main single & many other awesome and interesting songs. Fourthly, I found Tammy Wynette's 1968 Studio Album "Take Me to Your World/I Don't Wanna Play House" which features 2 main title track singles & many other awesome songs. Next, I got a Reissue of Tammy Wynette's Greatest Hits Volume II 1971 Compilation Album which features 1 main single and 10 of some of her many other awesome hit classics. Then, I got a terrific 1974 Greatest Hits Compilation Album of George Hamilton IV that features 10 of some of his many awesome hit classics. Look what else I got from Amazon!! Here's a 1989 CD of one of my top favorite Classic Country Singers Stonewall Jackson called "American Originals" that I bet certain Country fans out there probably have and it's a compilation album of single & album versions of his classic hit songs with awesome sound quality!! Anyways, the Compilation features a whole bunch of his famous songs from the time he started out in the late 50s to pretty much 1971. The hits include his first one which is a popular George Jones Cover & Prison Song "Life to Go", his best known no. 1 hit "Waterloo", one of the coolest train songs I've ever heard in my life and my overall top favorite of Stonewall "Smoke Along the Track", a 1964 hit remake of his 1957 single "Don't Be Angry" & so many others. I'm so happy to get this CD of Stonewall, he really is starting to become a huge favorite of mine in Classic Country more than ever before in the past (I've been checking out a lot more of his awesome songs the past year, he's so talented). Surprise, folks! Look what I got from Amazon!! Here's the CD Copy of "Hot Potato: The Best of the OG Wiggles" that came out last year that I know a lot of you Wiggly fans out there have and it's a compilation album of several classic hit songs from the Greg Era!! The album was also released on vinyl too, hopefully sometime in the future I'll get my hands on the vinyl copy of the album from either Amazon or Ebay. Anyways, the Wiggly Compilation features a whole bunch of their famous songs from the time they started out in the 90s to pretty much 2005 which was the year before Greg temporarily retired. I really lucked out today at another terrific antique store. Check out the 45 singles I got, 2 are Classic Country Hits & 1 is a Pop Hit. The Pop Hit happens to be the 1974 Classic "My Melody of Love" which is a love song that's partly polish by the legendary Bobby Vinton (it's in my opinion one of the greatest Pop songs of the early 70s). Next, there's the legendary Floyd Cramer in a very well known 1960 Country Instrumental I really like called "Last Date" which is a very calming and relaxing tune to listen to for sure. Lastly, Eddie Rabbitt with the 1980 Country Road Hit "Drivin' My Life Away" and I have to say it is such a catchy tune to listen and sing along to in Country Music (it's a classic). It’s been nearly a year since I dropped any music. A bunch of failed project and songs that went nowhere happened. Somehow, we still got redhead to over 1,000 streams which is truly incredible! Yesterday my little brother surprised me with a Lana Del Rey Ultraviolence poster and when he saw this poster on sale at his school he immediately thought of me and texted me. I’ve been holding out on picking up “Drastic Symphonies”, and I’m glad I did as it’s probably only worth the £4.95 paid. Surprise, folks! Look what I spotted at The PAST Antiques Marketplace at Nature's Art Village in Oakdale, CT!! Here's the "Toot Toot Musical Big Red Car" toy from 2003 that I know a lot of you Wiggly fans out there have and it's one of the original toys from the Greg Era!! I can't believe I found this, it's a Wiggly Miracle that I finally came across a Wiggles toy for once at an antique store. I'm like "Wow! I terribly wanna get this". Here's the part you would probably wanna hear most of all, IT STILL WORKS!! Yes that's right, it may have had a battery corrosion inside but it was no harm at all and it got a really good cleaning. When you press on the Wiggles Button, the car moves and plays the song "Toot Toot, Chugga Chugga, Big Red Car" (still normal pitch, not down or anything). I'm so happy to find this, it's gonna look awesome with the rest of my Wiggly Collection (from through the years to now). I will do a Reel soon of the toy's demonstration. I really lucked out today at two really great antique stores in Oakdale, CT. Check out the music stuff I got. I bought 3 music things today (one of them is a much more super special surprise item), but first I'm gonna start off with the 2 vinyls I have here right in front of me. The first one is a really great 1969 album of the Hag himself Mr. Merle Haggard called "A Portrait of Merle Haggard" which features the 2 singles "Hungry Eyes" & "Workin' Man Blues". The other one I got is a terrific 1972 compilation album of the Pride of Country Music himself Mr. Charley Pride that I've been looking for the past months called "The Best of Charley Pride, Vol. II" featuring 6 of his great hit singles (1969-1971) including his biggest single "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'" (1971). Man, I got classics today and I'm so satisfied with my findings. For starters, I bought a really great 1968 album of Glen Campbell called "Hey, Little One" which features the single "I Wanna Live". Next, I got a terrific 1968 Gordon Lightfoot album I've been looking for the past months called "Back Here on Earth" featuring the single "Bitter Green". After that, there's a really great 1969 Greatest Hits album of Tammy Wynette featuring her 60s hits including the album's main single "Singing My Song". Then, there's a 1979 compilation album of the legendary Statler Brothers called "The Best of the Statler Bros. Rides Again, Volume II" featuring their 70s hits including "Do You Know You Are My Sunshine" (1978). Lastly, I got a really awesome 1985 Greatest Hits, Vol. II Album of Charley Pride that features the singles "Down on the Farm" & "Let a Little Love Come In". This album was a blind buy thrifting yesterday for me. I had no idea whom they were or any good. So in the cart in went and home with me. Listening to it in the car and this is such a fantastic rock band I can't even. Like, this is so good. 70s 80s rock band bit it's still ongoing but with different members now. Starting off with a radical 1981 compilation album of Coal Miner's Daughter herself Loretta Lynn called "The Loretta Lynn Story" featuring many of her original hit recordings including "I'm a Honky Tonk Girl" from 1960. Then, I got 4 awesome 45 Records that I never thought I'd ever get my hands on today at Redwood, 3 of them are famous Chubby Checker hit singles and 1 is a popular Folk Song of the 60s group The Seekers. The Chubby Checker Classics consist of "The Fly" (1961), "Slow Twistin'" featuring Dee Dee Sharp (1962) & "Loddy Lo" along with "Hooka Tooka" on the B-Side which makes it a double hit single (1963). As for the popular Folk Song of the 60s group The Seekers, it's their 1965 Pop Hit "A World of Our Own" and it happens to be a song that I love most of all of that particular group, it's so catchy and of course it's a classic. As for the other music stuff I got, here are two terrific albums in Classic Country that really deserve to be in anybody's collection including mine. The first one is Classic Country's Storyteller himself Mr. Tom T. Hall with his "Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" album (1975) that features a whole bunch of his early to mid 70s Country Hits, Singles & Favorites (including "I Love" from 1973). Lastly, the other one happens to be a truly amazing Original Soundtrack album of the 1980 movie "Smokey and the Bandit 2" featuring the singles "Pecos Promenade" by Tanya Tucker, "Ride Concrete Cowboy, Ride" by Roy Rogers & many others. Both of them are awesome albums and I can't wait to play them. I really lucked out today at the Brimfield Fleamarket in Massachusetts. Check out the music stuff I got. Starting off with some awesome 45 Records that I never thought I'd ever get my hands on, 4 of them are Country Classics and 1 of them is a late 50s Rockabilly Hit. The Rockabilly Hit happens to be the 1957 Classic "Hula Love" by the legendary Buddy Knox (it's in my opinion one of the greatest Rockabilly songs of the late 50s). Next, there's the legendary Kris Kristofferson with his former wife Rita Coolidge in an interesting 1973 Country Charted Song I really like called "A Song I'd Like to Sing" (with a song on the other side that Kris wrote that became a Country Hit for the Tall Texan Billy Walker in 1969, "From the Bottle to the Bottom"). Then, there's the Silver Fox Charlie Rich with one of his biggest well known 1973 Country & Pop Hits, "The Most Beautiful Girl". After that, there's a 1980 single featuring 2 hits from the movie "Urban Cowboy" which are "Lookin' for Love" by Johnny Lee and "Lyin' Eyes" by The Eagles (originally released 1975). Lastly for 45's, Tanya Tucker's older sister La Costa with her 1974 Country Hit "Get on My Love Train" and it happens to be a song I've been listening to since the time I first started taking interest in Country Music (it's a classic). My cd haul from the past week :) 1) trainspotting soundtrack - I loved the movie and the soundtrack was amazing so I was chuffed when I saw it for cheap! 2) Radiohead the best of - i have most of the songs from this cd already but I couldn't not buy it as I have been looking out for this album for a while! 3) 101 punk and new wave hits - I don't usually like buying compilations like these ones but it included 5 CDs so many good songs with some of which being live or songs that I like but wouldn't get the album that they're off 4) green Day international super hits - I like greenday but I'm not a massive fan, so this compilation was great for me as it'll hopefully get me into their music more :) 5) green Day bullet in a Bible - I had never heard of this live album before but it included lots of their classic songs and it came with a DVD of the concert so I couldn't resist 6) Jimi Hendrix cornerstones - I'm trying to get into Jimi Hendrix as I love his sound and his guitar playing so this compilation was a must have for me. I absolutely loved this cd when I first played it so I'm very excited to play it from start to finish again 7) the strokes this is it - this album is a classic but I have never heard any of the songs from it, so I bought the album just to check it out :) 8) linkin park meteora - i like a couple of linkin parks songs and I have their album hybrid theory, so I wanted to listen to this album to expand my knowledge on their music 9) gorillaz plastic beach - I love some of the songs on the album and I have been looking for this album for ages so when I got it I was so excited! I went to the Redwood Fleamarket (Wallingford, CT) today and I just so happen to come across some awesome albums in Classic Country and Rock n Roll Music. Allow me to explain what I have pictured here. First off, there's a 1969 Johnny Cash compilation vinyl that I never thought I'd find today called "Story Songs of the Trains and Rivers" that features many of his original 50s hit Sun Recordings of many river songs (like "Big River") and train songs (like "Hey, Porter!"). Next, there's a classic album of Chubby Checker that I was hoping to get my hands on, it's called "For Twisters Only" (1960) and it features his famous cover of Jerry Lee Lewis' hit Rock n Roll Record "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On". Last but not least, I found another terrific CD of the Possum George Jones cleverly titled "Super Hits" (2007) that features many of his hits from the 50s to the 80s (including "White Lightning", "Bartender's Blues", "He Stopped Loving Her Today" & many others). I'm so satisfied with my findings and I'm looking forward to playing them all. I really lucked out today at the Consignment Shop I visit once in awhile. I found some terrific Classic Country albums by none other than the Red Headed Stranger himself, Willie Nelson!! One is an album recorded by just him and the other is a collab with fellow artist Merle Haggard. The 1st album just so happens to be a famous Christmas Album of Willie cleverly titled "Pretty Paper" (named after a famous Roy Orbison Christmas Song that was famously covered by Willie), released in 1979. The collab featuring Merle Haggard is an album that I've been trying to get my hands on for the past months, it's titled "Pancho and Lefty" (named after the famous duet that became a big Country Hit for the both of them and was originally a Folk Song written by Townes Van Zandt), released in 1982. It's another Monkees appreciation post🐒🧡 I really dig the Monkees and I've become a big fan of them lately (if you couldn’t tell already), since being so curious, I thought I’d purchase myself some merch just to learn more about the four. I don’t own a lot of magazines, but most I owned are pure golds already. Purchasing second-handed magazines and products is like purchasing a story from the previous. And it’s amazing, that such an item could contain so much more than just an item but each story unfold!!! Gazing through the magazine, It’s often common to notice some notes and handwriting jotted by the previous users, and it’s so pleasing reading the book, knowing the fact that the previous user was also engaging and enjoying the experience themselves!! Since it's a 1960s fanzine, I've spotted some slang and vocabulary they used a lot during the 60s, besides ’Groovy’ being the most iconic one, they also LOVED using ‘Outasite’ and ‘dig’ to express something enthusiastic! And man, the 60s truly were groovy! Nashville Music Haul 2023. Yes indeed, I brought home some goodies from the museums and the gift shops while in Music City. Allow me to explain what I got here. First off, there's a 2015 Remastered Copy of one of Cash's well known albums of the year 1958 and it's called "Sings the Songs That Made Him Famous" (bought from his museum). Secondly, I have 2 CDs consisting of the soundtrack album of the TV Special "Ken Burns: Country Music" (featuring a lot of awesome Classic Country songs) and the soundtrack album of Cash's famous TV show "The Best of the Johnny Cash Show 1969-1971" (featuring some of the best songs played on the show). Then, there's a Hee Haw Cap that I bought at the Opry Shop before I went to the show. Also, I got a shirt that shows Waylon Jennings and his wife Jessi Colter, below them shows part of the lyrics to Waylon's famous 1971 Country hit "Good Hearted Woman" (I love that song). Then, there's a hilarious Hee Haw shirt that I bought along with the hat and it says on it: "Caution: Donkey Dropping" (lol). Last but not least, 2 vinyls I've been hoping to get my hands on for the past months "Tennessee Blues" by Tex Ritter & "King of the Road: 20 Great Tracks" by Boxcar Willie. • Some fantastic finds in Kendal centre today. The @officialskidrow picture disc was from 151 Records, the bottom row were charity shop finds (including the rare Badlands debut in a 3 for £1 deal! 🤯), and the rest were from an incredible stall on the outdoor market that had TONS of rare rock and metal CDs. This was originally released as "Sit Down Young Stranger", but then it was reissued with the main track's title "If You Could Read My Mind". This album was released in the year 1970 and it is filled with such amazing songs in the style of Folk Music. It has the singles "Me and Bobby McGee", "If You Could Read My Mind" & "Approaching Lavender". This is what I like to call an oldie but a goodie. As for the other music stuff I got, here are three terrific albums in Classic Country that really deserve to be in anybody's collection including mine. First, there's Coal Miner's Daughter herself Loretta Lynn with her well known Tribute Album to one of her besties in life Patsy Cline and it's cleverly titled "I Remember Patsy" (1977). Next, there's The Hag himself Mr. Merle Haggard with one of his well known live albums which introduces his 1969 hit "Okie from Muskogee" (Live at the Civic Center, Muskogee, OK, 1969). Lastly, there's another amazing album of Loretta and it features her well known hit songs of the 1960s and it's cleverly titled "Loretta Lynn's Greatest Hits" (1968). They're all awesome albums and I can't wait to play them. I really lucked out today at the Brimfield Fleamarket in Massachusetts. Check out the music stuff I got. Starting off with some 78 Records that I've been trying to get my hands on for the past months, both of them are Roy Acuff & His Smoky Mountain Boys. There's the famous train song "Wabash Cannon Ball" which is Roy's top signature song and it just so happens to be the version recorded and released in 1947 featuring Roy's Vocals and someone doing the train whistle sound effect with the music. The other side is another one of Roy's famous songs and it's another train song called "Freight Train Blues" which has terrific rhythm as it starts off as though a train is about to leave the station. The other 78 is another famous Roy Acuff song called "Fire Ball Mail" and yes you guessed it another train, it was released in 1942. The other side of it is a totally different song compared to the others I've mentioned, this one's called "Wreck on the Highway" and it sounds so much like an old fashioned road trip song which is pretty fascinating. Eventually I'll start doing Reels on the 78 Records that my grandmother and I have. She got me started on collecting them. Look what I got today at the Redwood Fleamarket in Wallingford. Three amazing Classic Country CDs that definitely deserve to be in anybody's collection including mine. First off we have Waylon Jennings with a CD Reissue of his 1979 "Greatest Hits" compilation album featuring the hit version of "Amanda" (one of his well known songs of the 70s). Secondly, there's Marty Robbins with a "16 Biggest Hits" compilation album from 1998 that features a whole bunch of his famous songs from the time he started to become famous in Classic Country in the 50s to just before his passing in 1982 (hits include "Singing the Blues", "El Paso", "Devil Woman" & so many others). Lastly, there's a compilation album of the Man in Black that's cleverly titled "The Essential Johnny Cash" from 2002 that features so many of his famous songs from the time he started in 1955 all the way to the 90s when Cash got older. I have officially lost my damn mind… I went into that store looking for the 4th album, saw that they had HALF OF THE DAMN DISCOGRAPHY, and had to physically restrain myself from buying every single one of them. So I had to settle with buying the first four albums. 😂 This is the most I’ve spent on CDs all at once by the SAME ARTIST. Look what I got in the mail today!! An album of Charley that I've been trying to get my hands on for the past months. It's possibly my overall top favorite album of good ole Charley Pride. The title is "Just Plain Charley" from the year 1970. It's filled with 11 super great songs and even a few singles consisting of the no. 1 1969 hit "I'm So Afraid of Losing You Again" (written by Dallas Frazier & A.L. "Doodle" Owens) & a cover of Kris Kristofferson's "Me and Bobby McGee" that charted in Australia.
