“dejected” And just like that 4 months later I’m back… - - - - - - Shackles and a key: poem by me She’s your best friend, the one that stays until the end. When you push and kick and fight again, you know she’ll be alright again. When you grab that knife and slice again, she’ll be proud. When you start for that blade with those eyes again, she gets loud… “put it down”…you see that bottle, it’s white, your friend… your best friend, she’s right again. She says it won’t hurt… “can you count to ten?”… locked her in cage she wrecked you with her gaze, fixed upon you until you crave her. Stuck in her arms for days, she squeezes you so tight… almost like… like she wishes you’d suffocate. You never knew when she’d take the shackles off, releasing you from the cage, but you wish she wouldn’t, being in her arms is worse. 5.1.24 - That day…Part 3 Even though I eventually found out you were with her… At that time I didn’t know. At that time I didn’t understand. In that moment, I saw a man crying infront of me. Because he was making a difficult decision about someone he loved. How do you decide to not include the one person who you saw as your best friend, your lover, the person you planned and almost had a life with? I tell you…it’s not easy. Because I’m going through that now. So I understand how you felt at that moment. I also understand…that this moment had you confused because you realized you still felt something for her. It explains…so many things for me. Why that number got deleted. Why there was no urgency in saying we were together. Why there was no definitive removal of her from our life when we were together… Leaving a door open…means the impossible is possible. And by leaving that door open, you went back. I sympathize for the pain you went through, in deciding not to have me in your life. It’s such a heartbreaking decision. But I’ll never forget that you did it under the guise of going back to her. And I understand that this was done to protect me and I’m thankful for that… Yet choosing your past that never chose you…that’s a lesson you have to learn yourself. Just like I have to learn it too. You didn’t choose me. In this lesson I’ve learned…if there’s space for another person in someone’s heart? Then there was never room for you to begin with. And it was valid what I felt. I always felt number two. And I promise myself, I will never be someone’s number two. I am one in a million. & I will not let you picking her & letting me go, Define me. It is not because I am not worthy - No, I am very much valuable. Because one day, someday, I will be someone’s number one and only. Because I deserve that, And the many versions of me that have lived.
