We've had a taste of summer here in Northeast Ohio with warm temps that brought children out to the parks after school which reminded of a poem I wrote a couple of years back. I had a hard time getting it just right until I came up with the title "Altitude Attitude" and then the poem just wrote itself. My goal with this poem was to capture a time where the speaker is completely engulfed in the moment where she ( or he) had no place to go and nothing to do but to just be. Restricting my eyes, I was lying on my place I never picked, never decided it to be either, but it’s all that I have And now I know, where to bury myself, that one day. Lit a cheap cigarette, and started to fall in my doublethink ratios, I was Trying to rationalize my new ventures while digging my old sufferings I was given two choices, one, is to choose my friend And the second is to choose my friends, I didn’t know what to do, but I knew, either ways I betray the other And soon I was captured at sea, overthrown by my wildered mind While all this was happening, I learned, I cannot save everyone, And how could I, and how would I, He left long time back, all that is left, is about my old virgin man Molested and murdered my child, now my alter ego seeks absolution Asks me every night, can I not go back to the park, anymore? Can I not return to my wide-eyed tiny tot? Looking at myself my mirror replies with laughing syndrome, My teenage was befuddled, should I cry, or shouldn’t I Exposed a little, seen a bit, but I absorbed a lot I don’t remember my underage greenish photographs But, while understanding colours, I learnt, Dad’s negative procedure I shouldn’t have, really shouldn’t have. Unfortunately, I overlapped my footprint over his married crimes Am I becoming a part of his contamination over and over again? "I've always loved orange, blue, and even pink lights, particularly when I embrace the slow life within. Looking from my balcony, I adore the reflection on the night sky; we call it city lights. The slow movement in between, the four-legged, orange-eyed, short-sighted, tired faces carrying gases in their mouths before they sleep on the side of the roads. Now times have changed; now the lights are not my reflections but my vision. The tired faces carrying gas in their mouths are what we call cars. The indistinct voice of the rush in the city lights is their trait. Am I supposed to be overwhelmed? Or not? He was this way from the beginning; I never knew him.
