*Festival de Yulin, o festival da carne de cachorro* • O festival de Yulin teve sua criação e acontece desde 2009 no sul da China, mas desde muito antes o povo chinês já possuía a tradição de comer carne de cachorro e gato. Os praticantes da medicina chinesa e anciãos acreditam que a carne de cachorro ajuda na temperatura do corpo durante as datas de verão, mesmo que essa informação nunca tenha sido comprovada por cientistas ou médicos. • O festival acontece no sul da China e tem duração de 10 dias. Costuma acontecer do dia 20 ao dia 30 de Junho. Estima-se que mais de 10 mil cães são mortos nesses festivais. • O consumo da carne de cachorro e gato foi vetada quando a China proibiu o consumo de animais silvestres após o surto do coronavirus. Mesmo com a lei e proibição do consumo, muitos cidadãos chineses não deixaram o costume e nem seguem essa norma. É muito comum ver, nas ruas da China, caminhões carregados desses animais presos em gaiolas, amarrados ou pendurados, sendo levados para o abate e consumo.
