Practicing mindfulness has allowed me to overcome the things meant to destroy me. Here are some reminders that have helped me build resistance over the years as an Air Force veteran and single mom. 1.) You can't control the actions of others, only how you react. 2.) The opinions of others won't pay your bills, so pay them no mind. 3.) Actions speak louder than words 4.) Not everyone has the best intentions. Pay attention to their motives. 5.) Be aware of the company you keep, if it stresses you out, it's not a healthy relationship. 6.) Relationships should be a two-way street 7.) Your tribe are the ones who stick by your side even at your lowest 8.) Some people will act like a friend, but can't stand to see you win. This can be in jobs too, so be aware. 9.) Keep work and personal life separate 10.) If you have kids, let them be kids. Don't dump your emotions on your child. Teach them to set boundaries, be mindful, and stick up for themselves so they can be independent, confident, and strong adults. 11.) Be a role model in both your work and professional life, remembering you're on this planet for a reason, make it worthwhile. 12.) Don't live life waiting to die. Kényelmi társadalomban élünk. Mindent megteszünk azért, hogy komfortosabbá tegyük az életünket. Ha körbenézel a világban, te is láthatod, hogy mindenféle eszköz, kütyü jelenik meg, hogy a végtelenségig komfortossá tegye az életünket. De vajon profitálunk-e ebből? Bizonyos mértékig biztosan, de sok szempontból egyáltalán nem, mert elkezdtünk ragaszkodni ehhez a komforthoz és a legkisebb nehézség hatására magunk alá zuhanunk, mert nem tudjuk, hogyan kell megküzdeni a kihívást jelentő helyzetekkel.
