The message above made me smile. I often get clients asking me how I know what I know and if I’m a witch or psychic. It has nothing to do with me being either of those but more about my own experience of trauma and how that affected my brain and body. Like many people, this client came to me saying she’s had a happy (ish) childhood. Mum & dad were still together (not very happy) and had reached out to me as her anxiety and depression left her feeling unable to cope. There were ‘only’ three big traumatic events she could recall in our consultation. In our first session I’d written a page full of incidents that I would class as traumatic events. Some big T’s some littleT’s. All equally as upsetting and able to have a huge impact on a child’s mental health leaving them operating from a trauma state. People fail to see that often the big traumas can hide and bury all of the little ones. When we start to notice anxiety and low mood in our day to day life it is simply our body telling us it’s had enough and is overloaded and starting to break down.At this point many people go to their doctors to get advice as they feel scared and unable to live normally. This is usually when people visit their doctor (just like I did) and are prescribed medication, which can for many be a fast downward spiral as the side effects can be devastating. I have clients who have taken just one tablet of the name I won’t mention and have had suicidal tendacies within 24 hours. True story. I know how to uncover the right memories in order to help people fully heal. I know because I’ve been there and I know what certain experiences do to the human mind and body. I have treated over 2000 clients and I know how to get to the root cause in a very safe and wonderful way that provides the most profound healing. For most people once we address the very early childhood memories that they may not recognise as being part of the cause of their issues, everything starts to change. This #sweetanimal is Nellie. Eight months ago, my husband and I went to a 24-hour McDonald's. Yes, it was an unhealthy splurge but we had been working in the yard and our pool all day. As is sometimes the case, we saw a #straycat who was #desperate for food. It was a #frightened, #skinny, #furtive and #black older #kitten. I figured that the #cat would never let itself be #saved. Just the week before we'd been to a drive-thru bank and saw several cats tucking themselves down into a storm drain, all #feral as could be, and completely repelled by our efforts to #save them. But, this #stray was different. I got out of our car and approached the cat, and it ran a few feet, then stopped, I called it, it ran a few feet more, stopped again, and I continued my advance. It finally sat still, and I slowly reached and stroked it's silky, glistening fur, the one beautiful thing that it still possessed besides its soul. It let me pick it up and bring it to the car. We immediately saw that she was a #young #female. I also saw that she was covered in marks from a BB gun. I hate these people. The marks have all healed by now, but one The weirdest thing is that she was already #neutered. That means that someone loved her at one time. She didn't have a clipped ear. We posted that we'd found her everywhere online but no one called. She was probably #dumped. Nelly immediately became a shining, friendly #felineoverlord, and all of the other cats like her, even our rotund and reclusive calico, Marge. Nellie is intensely interested in food so we accommodate her, and she's become quite the #plumpkin. But best of all, as happens in the #ideal scenarios of #animalrescue, we get to watch her bloom and #grow. And how she has! This month that we let her go outside. We always make certain that our #foundlings know where their #home is before they are outside of it. She loves it. But she stays mostly #inside, on our #laps, or in our bed! What a #life! To start, one thing you may love about "The Country Will Bring Us No Peace" by Matthieu Simard is the fact that this novella can be read in one sitting, especially if you're like me and spend several hours reading before bed instead of getting sleep for work like a normal person. 😂 Though short, it definitely packs a punch. The story, which features intimate memories and grief themes, can be incredibly heartbreaking at times rather than typically scary or disturbing. However, it still left you with questions and feeling a sense of aloneness that you only get from a horror movie. The book reminded me a bit of Centralia (if you haven't read up on this little town in PA, do so, it has an incredible history!) in the way that once people leave, their things are demolished and forgotten.
