22nd March 2023 - We met with Terry at Clarendon head office for our tender meeting. We did quite a few changes and provisions with Kate initially so we were surprised when we ran a little over 3 hours! Biggest item was adapting the Saville facade to include a porch and pillars for a Hamptons feel without the balcony. We did also priced up the main bathroom for an open wet area, bath and shower combo, but ultimately Brett didn’t like it so we later reverted to a traditional layout. 26th February 2023 - After a huge increase at our contract meeting, Brett was keen to compare to Clarendon as he loved their Boston floor plan. I just needed the distraction. We ended up sitting with Kate (brilliant sales rep!) at Marsden Park who listened to us, viewed our custom plans and suggested the Stamford instead. She also told us house prices were increasing on the 1st March so recommended paying the $1000 tender to lock the current price in. By this point I figured what was another $1000 given the losses we were facing. But woah did it turn out in our favour as Kate knew we were serious and secured us a bonus lifestyle upgrade after talking to her manager after we left. FROM MY LATEST YOUTUBE VIDEO (https://youtu.be/FlwAGXUnLXg ) In this video, I took my recently acquired Nikon Z8 on a photography expedition to Scotland. A few weeks back, I ventured into the Scottish landscapes, fully equipped with my brand-new Nikon Z8, hoping to capture stunning images. The weather forecast was quite extreme, predicting the arrival of a massive storm with Arctic conditions. As anticipated, the weather lived up to its forecast, creating a chaotic atmosphere. Regrettably, disaster struck on the first night while capturing a captivating timelapse of the night skies. A powerful gust of wind toppled my camera and tripod, rendering the Nikon Z8 non-functional. Although the damage was relatively minor, with only slight harm around the eyepiece and a small crack in the body, the camera’s screen and electronic viewfinder refused to power up. To compound the issue, the only alternative camera I brought was an older vlogging camera paired with a 24-105mm lens. Adapting to the situation, I decided to modify my filming style. I can't wait for summer so that I can do the Ring Of Steall again. This walk was only 10 miles (16km) but with a rope bridge, bogs, numerous ascents, a ridge walk, the burning sunshine and a horrendous descent it was a really tough walk🥵. Scenery was amazing though and I bagged four munros in one day. Loch Stack Scotland Landscape Photography Crashed and Trapped at my favourite Landscape Photography Location FROM MY LATEST YOUTUBE VIDEO ( https://youtu.be/AojdEjD9vA4 ) In this video, I drove 10 hours to arrive at my favourite location for landscape photography. I crashed on the route, and I was trapped there! Last week, I drove up North to my favourite location for landscape photography. It’s a small Scottish Loch called Loch Stack. Located in the Northwest of Scotland, Loch Stack is a sizable, uniquely shaped freshwater lake situated about 4 miles to the southeast of Laxford Bridge. Encircled by mountains, it boasts an irregular layout. I had a couple of reasons to go there. One, I knew there was a massive dump of snow due to fall there. Whilst I’ve been there quite a few times, I have never photographed the area in snowy conditions. Secondly, I had an announcement to make regarding the channel that I’m very proud of. I just wanted to make the announcement at a special location. As you can probably tell from the thumbnail. Things didn’t go quite as smoothly as I had liked. 27th February 2023 - A stressful and devastating decision to part ways with our first builder due to a huge price increase between our tender and final contract. With the rate rises, we just couldn’t comfortably stretch any further while paying IVF bills. It’s the view over Kingairloch Church, looking towards Ben Cruachan on the other side of Loch Linnhe.
