This beautiful red husky had a minor setback when he first arrived at our shelter as a stray…he had a *prolapsed urethra* 😳 which was clearly very uncomfortable and affecting his quality in life. Fortunately he was patched up during his neuter surgery and has been spending his recovery time in the care of our resident husky expert/volunteer extraordinaire! His foster has learned the following about Clifford: - Good with other dogs, especially fellow huskies - Potty trained and crate trained - He’s a bit of a klutz 😅 - Decent on leash (perfect when using a gentle leader) - Dog savvy kids recommended - Unknown with cats, though he ignores the ones he sees outside in walks Clifford is approximately 3 years old and weighs 57 lbs. This magical little lady we call Hermione is looking for a foster home (or an adopter!) and SOON. If you or somebody else is in the position to do so or looking to adopt, please continue reading. Like her Harry Potter namesake, she is smart, beautiful, and a little bossy. She is full of energy and is choosy with her friends. She prefers the calmer, submissive types. She can get along with others as long as there are no toys, treats, or bones nearby. As with many dogs who have lived in shelters, their resources have been limited, so they often feel the need to fight to keep what they have called their own. Hermione does this with dogs but has not shown resource guarding with humans. Hermione is also quite affectionate. This sweet girl loves a good nap on the couch and pets from her human friends. She’ll play fetch (but not with other dogs, please and thank you!) She wants her own time to shine without the competition of others! Hermione is not interested in being contained in crates, but she has done well being confined in a room to herself when left at home. She really hopes to find a home with an active family that will include her in all the fun! She would likely be easiest as an only dog, but could also live with other calmer dogs as long her home is diligent to remove high value treats/toys. *We don’t expect Hermione to do well with cats, although she has not been tested. CAN YOU HELP BILLY ? 🐾 Billy is a 16 weeks old, Husky/Pomeranian cross. Billy arrived into our care with 3 of his siblings, Upon arriving in our care, it was immediately clear that Billy had a head tilt, trouble with his coordination and was displaying frustrated behaviour; probably as a result of the world not moving the way it should from his perspective. Billy has seen the vet today and while we were hoping for something we may be able to treat such as an inner ear infection, it appears that his head tilt and behaviour are a neurological/brain disorder. It could possibly be as a result of being starved of oxygen during birth or possibly a result of brain trauma. 💔 Sadly the head tilt (and quirky behaviour) is something that is unlikely to resolve itself. Billy will be looking for an incredibly special and loving home that will see beyond his unusual movements and take on the challenge of guiding and helping him reach his full potential, he is sweet, loving, playful, extremely cheeky and adores other dogs. It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for!!! 🙌🏼😭🎉 Our favorite girl Althea has found the most amazing home that will love and spoil her forever! From one of the saddest shelter videos we’ve seen (see end), to this, we could not be happier!! She’s already been on so many adventures, lost some of her extra lbs and looking so good, and is now enjoying the good things in life 🥰 Thank you so much to her new mom for taking a chance on a senior rescue dog, we promise you, she’s worth it ✨ A bit from her new mom after her first week with Althea: “She just has the kindest, sweetest, calming energy. She’s so sweet and gentle with my cats, my horse even likes her and he is afraid of all dogs! I love how she gives you little kisses and I love her happy little trot on walks (and her bursts of speed when she wants to run) And her big smile and tail wag when she walks into a room and sees me and rolls over for belly rubs. This 5 month old husky baby boy needs an (experienced!) home. Los Angeles. Please share with your friends and family who have previously owned a husky or another snow dog breed. His name is Echo and he very affectionate and loves to cuddle, but is still teething. He is house trained, neutered, and good with other dogs larger than him. No small dogs, cats, or children without a lot of additional training. High prey drive and reactive. He requires 3-4 hours of outdoor time daily with proper mental activation (biking, running, dog park, hiking etc). He will also require regular brushing at least once weekly, and a high quality food that is beneficial to snow dog breeds. You must be prepared to spend a couple hundred dollars a month on good food and chew toys. He is neutered, flea meds, microchipped and has first two rounds of vaccines. There is an adoption fee.
