Fascia is a cage around all your organs, muscles, tendons, ligaments, tissues, nerves, joints and bones. When that cage is stuck, traumatised, tight, clumpy and damaged basically not working properly it creates a dense tough cage of layers that needs to be treated. That dense tough cage houses, your normal and abnormal tissue ( Lipoedema ) the only way I’ve been able to change my structure over the years is to treat my fascia through conservative self care. Where has the last 3 weeks gone? I've been a bit quite here because ....(bit of a long post if anyone is interested) 3 weeks ago I feel in Amsterdam ( tip 1 check your travel insurance & carry an E111 if travelling in Europe ). Got home on my scheduled flight but had to purchase 2 addional flights for me & My leg. (Fyi this type of addional cost is not covered by insurance) Everyone in Amsterdam , assist in Amsterdam Airport & Ryan air were great. Dublin airport assist was a disaster, shame on them but that's another story So surgery to repair the tear in my knee is over , 4 more weeks in a brace & physio to start in June. It is here I have to give a Shout out to all the staff of Aut Even hospital that ive met over the past few weeks. You all went over & beyond what I expected. Do you think I can remember the name of the lovely nurses...no but I will find out For the moment I'm house bound, but that's not a bad thing & I won't be dancing for a while. It's not my plan, but God's plan and there is comfort in that Would not be getting through this without the physical & mental support for so so many people. Janey mack I knew I was a lucky girl but when the chips are down I am so so blessed to have such incredible people in my life. Today I am so so grateful. The accident, while a major pain in the behind, could have been so much worse & while I spent 3 days in a hotel in Amsterdam (yes the accident happened 3 hours after arrival), it could have been worse. And while I haven't bent my knee in 3 weeks & won't for who knows how long....it could be so much worse.... Nothing more weird than actually looking & feeling a tad like a cyborg 🤖 - it's been two weeks since I injured my knee & things are getting gradually easier but the pain is very high and it's the most worst thing I've ever done. I've also recently learnt that a torn/stretched tendon/ligament is worse than a broken bone. A little life update today marks my 2nd month of doing water aerobics to gain mobility and rang of motion of my left leg. It’s a workout for sure and I do enjoy it. I go twice a week for an hour each time. Yes sometimes myself and the lifeguard’s are the youngest people at the pool by 20 years. People that know we know that I’m not the best morning person so waking up at the ass crack of dawn to jump in a chill pool is not my idea of fun. (How did I do it for 6 years as a swimming instructor). 2nd fact about me is I love swimming and really wished that my high school had a swim team but I made due by swimming at different schools and training with other instructors and coaches. The cherry on the top is that I was able to bend my knee and touch my heal with my hand for a few seconds. Day 20,130 Visited my local goblin artificer to get fitted for a leg brace. Hopefully it will help sufficiently with mobility issues I've been having, otherwise I might need surgery. I'll cross that troll bridge when I get to it. Stuck my foot in a foam cast and had my leg wrapped in a fiberglass cast to send off to fabrication, once insurance give approval, hopefully quickly. Most of the folks there were wearing green for St. Patty's day, and they were playfully teasing someone who wasn't, until they realised her socks were green, and they raised a great cheer for her (despite her claim that it was just a lucky coincidence. ) I was measured and am now officially 77 inches tall, or about an inch shorter than previously listed. Solo birthday date. Today I turn 41 years old! Went to see Ari Shaffir last nignt (he was amazing! At Comedy Works), then scooted over to Meow Wolf for a few hours of Dancetopia featuring my favorite band ever, Beats Antique . I've been watching Beats Antique perform for 15 years since their days playing in tiny venues in Northampton MA (among other spots.) They have never disappointed.
