. A new experience! My friends in the UK will smile at this… today was my first race in the rain! We (I) don’t get many opportunities to run in the rain here in this part Catalunya, but today’s @montescatano was a great initiation. And I thoroughly enjoyed it! The route started with a +10% gradient over 2.5k (under pouring rain), just enough to speed up adaptation, heart rate, and the creation of a new physical homeostasis. The rest of the route was a super fun, undulating mix of single-track and larger dirt (muddy) trails. I felt great exhilaration while running today with no thought of splits, pace, or overall time. The rain and muddy terrain left no place to be other than 100% present in the moment, especially on some of the more technical, slippery descents. The incredible & elusive feeling of flow was present (and highly enjoyable in hindsight) throughout the race. It was also a great pleasure to run with less pain from recent, nagging injuries. A very freeing feeling indeed! I even finished with negative splits and a fast final 1.5km of 4:28/km and got a podium (3rd place) in my age group! Always a great pleasure to share a race with friends @runnervilamar & @lyly43 (their local race) and @alice who provided solid moral support at the start and finish, reconfirming the beauty of community that this sport offers. Next race @trailnocturnalianca in June! Puy de Sancy & Mont-Dore - Massif de Sancy ⛰️ 500d+ (800 depuis la station) 🥾13km (17km depuis la station) 🐶 ok chien (attention, une bonne partie est dans la réserve et donc obligation de tenir son chien en laisse) ⚠️Troupeaux en saison, possible CPT Wow ! Cette rando était ma préféré de notre week-end ! Wow ! Cette rando était ma préférée de notre week-end ! On a pris le téléphérique pour monter au Sancy (super dog friendly gratuit pour eux, et 14€/adultes) vous pouvez y monter depuis la station par a la grande piste de 4x4. Nous voilà donc au sommet, de là on prend la direction de la reserve. Les chiens y sont autorisés, mais uniquement en laisse et sur le chemin du GR30 et GR04 (plein de panneau vous indiquerons les chemins autorisés ou non). Nous prenons donc la direction du Mont-Dore (attention, une fois rentrer dans la réserve, vous ne pourrez plus couper pour rentrer, tous les autres chemins qui descendent à la station sont interdit avec un chien). On longe la crête pendant un moment, c'est très beau, des grands champs, des montagnes et du soleil ! On finit cette première partie en forêt avant d'arriver à Mont-Dore ! La petite pause pour manger une super pizza, puis on reprend notre itinéraire en direction de la station du Sancy. Il y a un peu de route, mais très peu de voiture (voir pas du tout), puis on finit sur les pistes de ski. Pratiquement toute la rando est au soleil, et il n'y a pas de point d'eau (sauf à Mont-Dore), donc pensez à prendre beaucoup d'eau ! An open air museum and active archaeological site, Myra is famed for once being home to St. Nicholas. Myra is located in the modern-day town of Demre, Antalya, Turkey.
