08.01.2024 As Light disappears fast in the ravine of Myrafalls in Muggendorf/Lower Austria i had to go fast and safe on the snowy walks. I was lonley and it was cold. Silent, except the harsh water comming down the cold stones. Thanks to the Mentor @karlgrabherr I used my NiSi 9mm/2.8 manual Focus Lens for this short hike about 1,5 hrs. and my OM-1 with Live ND on the Berlebach Tripod. I did some High Res shots as well. For Exposure Calculation my Sekonic L-858 with the allready saved Filter compensation which lets me quickly decide my Exposure and did not failed. Have you ever wanted to look a wild salmon in the eye? Or sneak up on a sleeping whale? If so, Campbell River should be your next destination. Campbell River lies halfway up Vancouver Island on the Discovery Passage and is the gateway to the north island, Nootka Sound and Strathcona Provincial Park. World renowned for salmon fishing, Campbell River is also home to several fantastic hiking trails, waterfalls and a myriad of outdoor activities. Heading west out of the city you'll find Strathcona Provincial Park, a 600,000 acre gem in the centre of the island and home to Buttle Lake. At the southern tip of the lake, the spectacular emerald waters of Myra Creek tumble down Upper and Lower Myra Falls. Both are wonderful places for a picnic and a hiking adventure . At nearby Gold River you'll find Antler Lake Trail where you can see (and hug) majestic old growth Douglas Fir trees up close and in person. For a real coastal adventure, you can board the Uchuck, a wooden "coastal steamer" that delivers cargo and tourists to remote communities along the wild and rugged west coast of the island. Back in Campbell River there's phenomenal whale watching as well as "Swimming with the Salmon" a face to face adventure with migrating salmon. Even if the weather turns, your day is not lost.
