My journey with @clickinmoms started when I discovered and devoured the first issue of @click.magazine many years ago. To this day, I savor each issue, reading them cover to cover. This month as I flipped through the recent issue, I found these two images of mine. Something I wouldn’t have even dared to dream, and can’t quite believe. When I looked through the magazine years ago, it was filled with images by artists I’d never heard of, but greatly admired. Now when I flip through the magazine, it’s filled with page upon page of friends of mine - artists I’ve met, teachers I’ve hugged, friends who’ve become teammates. Makes me stop to think what a truly wonderful world this is. Who would imagine one magazine could impact a life so profoundly. Thank you for featuring these images of mine @click.magazine. New Years Eve + the greatest sledding hill of all time + the gift of a Colorado sunset + a puppy playing chase. So many good and wonderful things to look forward to in 2020, especially for my work. I’m so excited to be instructing again @clickawayconference in March. In April I’ll be teaching @insta_inspire_retreat, and in May I’ll be instructing a light workshop for @clickphotoschool and then in September leading my very first retreat in my favorite place on earth, Grand Lake @lightchasersretreat. 😅 With a just about fully booked client schedule for 2020, a 40th birthday trip in there along the way, a couple plans to visit the sea...my year is booked to the gills with all the the things that make me happy. Happy 2020 to all of you who bring kindness and inspiration to this little space of pixels and squares.
Okay 2020, I'm here. I decided to crawl out from under the holiday fog of family days spent playing games and watching movies in jammies while snuggling little people and big dogs and eating baked goods that I NEEDED to feed my soul, and announce that last year was great, but this year will be better. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Or not better, exactly, because I did a heck of a lot that I'm proud of in 2019. I took my mental health seriously. I practiced patience with my girls and let them be themselves. I worked exclusively with families, planned styled shoots that were just for me. and climbed mountains to find more beauty than I thought was possible. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I raised my prices and felt the joy of being paid what I'm worth, helped my clients print their pictures, turned off influences that I compare myself to, and most importantly - avoided burnout. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But there was one thing that I regret from 2019. I let fear rule a lot of my decisions when it came to my business. That's why my word for 2020 is BRAVE. Because I've realized that I'm the only person standing in my way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm not sure what this year will bring, but I know I'm going to push myself to be bigger and better and bolder than I've been before. I'm rounding the corner to 40, and realizing that the best is yet to come. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I hope the holiday is treating you right friends, and that you're looking forward to this new year and new decade with excitement and joy, while giving yourself grace and a big pat on the back for making it here.
