Separation season. . It's a term used by many athletes to talk about where the differences are made between good and great. It's hugely used on weekends because it's the norm to "take it easy" when, in fact, it can make a big difference towards your goals. . To me, it's about more than just the separation I create between other people aiming to better themselves. To me, it's about the separation I've created between the old me and the new me. The old me ALWAYS found excuses to be lazy, do less, and chase cheat days when "dieting." The new me understands that there's 0 difference between Saturday and Monday when it comes to accomplishing things you want to get done. The weekends account for about a third of your week. If I were to take that time off, then I am going to take that much longer to achieve my goals, or I will possibly never achieve them at all. . Yesterday @the_challenge_team_ri “Tillman” began our Memorial Month Honor Training (Day1/Week1), in tribute to Fallen NFL player & Army Ranger, Pat Tillman @pattillmanfnd , who was KIA 20 yrs. ago on 04/22/04 #neverforget Kim Rose, Phillip Yan (Su Zottola Yan), brothers, Chris & Lucas (Andrea Pereira Escaler) and Marc, worked together, completing a combined total of: 21 miles, carrying 20-70lbs of various equipment (vests/rucks/sandbag). PLUS 1 mile of: burpee’s + broad jumps + Bear Crawls + walking lunges; ending w/a #silenttribute before the flag-ALL for Pat R.I.P. Lastly, we’ll be back at it next week. Our goal is: 40, 4 #40 40 miles (honoring Pat’s #40) w/4 miles per session (minimum) ALL are welcome, ANY fitness level. It’s hard to know where to start with this crap. • Low Risk??? Look how this (or any) ruck pack is loaded…pulling from the shoulder, and entirely over the posterior chain. A chiropractor’s dream. Add then the inevitable poor posture needed to counter-balance….to call this low-risk is a joke. • Using what was done in Roman times as an endorsement of safe and effective exercise? We wonder if this “fitness” publication appreciates the irony of suggesting that because a type of exercise is ancient makes it good, despite all the exercise physiology we have learned over the last 1,000 years. • A lot of the garbage spewed by fitness publications is harmless, used to fill up pages of needed content, generate clicks and maybe sell some stuff. Occasionally, though, they will stoop to remarkable lows, and actually promote something that will do more harm than (if any) good.
