Im Jahr 1987 erweckt eine Gruppe von Betreuern in der letzten Nacht des Sommercamps versehentlich eine rachsüchtige Dämonin. Als die Situation im Camp schließlich blutig wird, müssen die Betreuer entscheiden, welche Geheimnisse es wert sind, bewahrt zu werden. Nachdem ich SHE CAME FROM THE WOODS gesehen habe, weiß ich THANKSGIVING (der hier kürzlich besprochen wurde) gleich noch viel mehr zu schätzen. Hier läuft wirklich alles schief, was bei einem Slasher schief laufen kann. Die Charaktere sind entweder in höchstem Maße unsympathisch oder so dermaßen nervig, dass man ihren Tod förmlich herbeisehnt. Wenn das dann noch Hand in Hand geht mit unterirdischem Schauspiel, ist die Katastrophe perfekt. Spannung kommt da zu keiner Zeit auf. Wie auch, wenn man mit keinem der Idioten mitfiebern kann? Wenn die Meuchelei dann los geht, wird es nicht besser. Die Kills sind allesamt einfallslos und zu sehen gibt es bis auf 2 Ausnahmen auch nicht allzu viel. Statt eines menschlichen Killers geht hier eine verfluchte Krankenschwester um, deren Background Story auch sehr lahm und klischeebehaftet ist. Ganz abgesehen davon, dass die Alte auch nicht furchteinflößend ist. Es ist schon fast lachhaft wie easy sie gegen Ende platt gemacht wird. Da merkt man auch nichts davon, dass sie eine Damönin ist. Das Einzige was an dem Film ganz nett ist, sind die zahlreichen Anspielungen auf diverse andere Klassiker des 80er Jahre Slashers. Da merkt man schon, dass man Filmen wie FREITAG DER 13. oder SLEEPAWAY CAMP huldigen wollte. Wenn man auf zig andere Streifen zeigt, macht das den eigenen aber nicht unbedingt besser. Da könnt ihr euch auch gleich die Klassiker angucken und habt wahrscheinlich mehr Freude daran. As Agatha’s body-count creeps ever higher, the McAlisters and the teens have to figure out how to defeat the supernatural menace before everyone dies. “This isn’t ‘The Burning’, Ben!” Yeah so I was totally expecting an homage to the campfire slasher here but couldn’t have been more wrong. Instead we have a Candyman-esque witch curse/demonic possession hybrid going on which was actually pretty cool. Producers William Sadler and Cara Buono are welcome sights but the young camp counsellors were the ones running the show. Bloomquist obviously has an affection for the summer camp horror because he utilises the typical characteristics: (good girl, bully, screw-up amongst others). That being said, there is a freshness brought to the table in SCFRW. Shout out to Dylan and his David the Vampire mullet. “You can go f*ck off into the woods and jerk off using your own tears as lube.” Agatha is a pretty creepy spirit who gets stronger and more present the more she skills. When you finally see her she has a certain “sister of Bughuul” look about her. I found SCFRW a bit rough round the edges but good fun in all fairness. And as I mentioned earlier, an homage to any 80s horror is alright with me. 6 finger pricks out of 10.

Widerwillig machen Alle bei dem albernen Ritual mit und als sie realisieren, dass es nicht nur eine erfundene Gruselgeschichte ist und die Beschwörung funktioniert hat, ist es bereits zu spät. Denn Agatha hat mit den McAlisters noch eine alte Rechnung offen und sie will das ewige Leben und dafür jeden aus dem Weg räumen, der sie davon abbringen könnte. Nur gemeinsam als Familie, haben die McAlisters eine Überlebenschance. Ein relativ typischer Slasher, der ein paar gute Momente hat, es aber nicht zum Cult-Movie schaffen wird und gegen Klassiker, wie Freitag der 13., keine Chance hat. Er bekommt von mir 6/10. 📽️ 247/2023 🎞️ She Came from the Woods 🗓️ 2023 ⏰ 100 minutos 🍿She came from the woods es una película muy pequeña de campamentos de verano ambientada en los años ochenta, dirigida al más puro estilo de las de entonces y con todos los tópicos y clichés habituales de esta clase de películas. La gran novedad la hayamos en su historia, ya que lo fácil sería vincular este tipo de escenario al género Slasher, con el típico asesino en serie que oculta su identidad tras una máscara y que, con cuchillo en mano, se dedica a masacrar a los jóvenes monitores. Aquí el mal llega en forma de un antiguo mal de hace décadas que es invocado en un ritual en la última noche del campamento de verano. Su nombre: Agatha. La película está llena de buenas intenciones, la idea esta bastante bien definida con momentos muy molones, como cuanto Agatha, que puede poseer a gente, transforma a un grupo de niños pequeños en unos verdaderos psicópatas homicidas. Pero todo se queda en tierra de nadie, ya que le falta toda la mala baba y maldad que la película requiere, como si le diera miedo ser todo lo incorrecta que debería. She Came From The Woods (2022) 3/4 🔪 “A group of teens accidentally summon spirit of Agatha, a nurse who terrorized the camp forty years earlier.” I was able to catch this one in theaters earlier this year and loved it! I was excited to find out It’s available on @tubi now! It’s a great throwback to the great 80s camp slasher films. It’s hilarious and gory. A great score and amazing cast of characters. The story is very well written and when you finally get to see Agatha she does not disappoint! I loved her character and she’s definitely a favorite of mine. I Hope somehow she gets a toony terror or something down the line. She Came From the Woods. I watched a trailer for this haunted summer camp flick a few months ago and was surprised when it popped up as a Tubi Original. On the last night of camp the hard partying counselors awaken the spirit of a murderous nurse. She Came From the Woods is a fun horror movie with some spooky moments. The film is hurt by a couple of bad characters, one a complete idiot and the other a complete piece of excrement. But on the positive side veteran actor William Sadler plays the camp owner and the soundtrack is taken from Kim Wilde's first album. Besides the evil ghost there is a host of evil, possessed camp kids causing murder and mayhem. The Roulette movie this week was She Came From the Woods(2023). @kelleynotlp was pleasantly surprised by this! It was a good mix of comedy and scary. The movie takes place in the 80s but it is not just for nostalgia's sake and actually serves a purpose. It also doesn't beat you over the head with its 80s-ness and is more subtle. The moviemakers also made the most of their small budget. Kelley most liked the acting in the film. The cast was committed and gave really good performances. И поразительно как при таком разнообразие не возникает путаницы или перегиба в какую-то сторону - это плотный сбалансированный микс из множества хоррор кусочков. ⠀ Атмосфера летнего лагера ностальгически напоминает «Хрустальное озеро» и подсознательно ожидаешь, что вот-вот из-за дерева появится Джейсон. Ночь, пустые домики, сломанная машина и телефон, группа вожатых один на один с неугомонной бестией, лихорадочно соображающие как им выпутаться из сложившейся ситуации - это приятно отдает ламповой теплотой по стареньким подобным фильмам. ⠀ И надо отдать должное режиссеру, он всячески избегает жанровых клише в виде «давайте разделимся по одному» и прочим надоевшим шаблонным поведением персонажей. И хотя в тэгах к фильму кроме ужасов стоит еще и комедия, но юмора я не заметил, и лента скорее выглядит как зрелищный аттракцион на манер рассказанных страшилок у костра, просто подано это все в легкой развлекательной манере. ⠀ Сюжет простенький и с самого начала становится понятно дальнейшее его развитие, но не ради истории создаются подобные картины. Есть у меня, правда, претензия к вызову демонического зла: проколоть палец и произнести его имя - безобразно просто, но возможно это как раз и есть тот самый элемент юмора и иронии над своими собратьями по жанру. ⠀ Мораль: летний лагерь - идеальное место, чтобы научиться искусству выживания... в случае появления маньяка или призрака. ⠀ В итоге динамичный эффектный ужастик про мракобесие в детском лагере, который просто нельзя пропускать. ⠀ 📢 Моя оценка: 7/10 ⠀ ⠀ Навигация: #чк_ужасы #чк_ОнаПришлаИзЛеса ⠀

M3GAN was a great movie. If you saw the commercials. You’d know it’s about a girl who moves in her with her aunt after her parents unexpectedly died in a crash. The girl is named Cady and she is super sweet and adorable. She finds a doll which was a prototype from her aunt’s toy company. The doll and the girl become fast friends. But then the doll has a dark secret. Violet McGraw was great as the human girl. I hope I can write for Blumhouse. Saw it at my AMC. A few people, probably because of the boring and lame State Of The Union. In there I got previews of Champions by Focus Features, She Came From The Woods, Scream by Paramount, Evil Dead Rise from New Line Cinema, Cocaine Bear from Universal, Reinfield by Universal Pictures, and even of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon re release by Sony Pictures Classics.
