A Better Tomorrow 1 & 2 A few years ago I got into John Woo films. And found Anchor Bay of all companies have released them. All my life I only knew Anchor Bay as a horror company. Throughout this month of April I've been purchasing the cassette tapes, DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs and vinyl records. I kept a track of them with my Discogs app by keeping it organized. Here are my purchases from this month in April. Slide 1: I copped a bunch of cassette tapes from the thrift store and Maggie Rogers "Don't Forget Me" came from Amazon Prime which I've bought. Slide 2: Record Store Day Haul from @mediareloadstores in April 20th which was last Saturday. Slide 3: Bunch of CDs from Walmart, Target, Media Reload, thrift store and a library. Slide 4: I went out shopping and copped a lot of Blu-rays and DVDs. Stretch-A-Bucks has some good-ass DVDs. Brandon Lee's performance in The Crow is a testament to his immense talent and dedication as an actor. I played Silent Hill 2 and 3 for the first time recently. Such solid games all this time later! Got me in the mood to rewatch this flick after 10 odd years and I gotta say: I appreciate this even more now. GREAT adaption and legit creepy. The effects are fantastic and the atmosphere is on point. I just wish the plot didn't get muddy at the end. I'm not into big, epic films so this one is soooo far from being my scene. But damn, I love it! Christopher Nolan really kick the door down with inspiring pieces in the 00s eh? :) The action is imaginative, the imagery is stunning and the concept is genius. The third act gets a bit too jumbled and the characters are slightly thin, but it still is one of the most imaginative films I've ever seen. One of my favorite werewolf movies is Ginger Snaps. I saw it when I was a teenager and it stayed with me until now and I rewatch it every couple of years. And love it all over again. Also it started my longtime crush on scream queen Katharine Isabelle. I also own the Scream Factory poster. Fun Fact Scarlett Johansson was originally offered the role of Brigitte, but her mother did not want her involved after reading a National Post article about a boycott of the film by casting directors in Canada. Shout out to @andy_tgp for giving me this beast. Colin Firth gave a powerhouse of a performance. That speech scene at the start is insanely rough to watch and sets the tone of the film perfectly.
