Imagine this day, try it, take a walk in my shoes for a minute! You know sometimes things aren’t exactly what they seem, so don’t give up on those dark days, you never know what seeds get planted or watered! Today started like many days: it began with morning cuddles next to my favorite human, taking in the scent on his clothes, getting those deep long kisses, melting into the best friend hug that he gives me, and taking in the peacefulness of listening to the morning birds together… he’s the last one on earth to me, at last the only one I thought I could #trust... we fell back asleep in the still of the morning.. early afternoon rushes in and clumsily I wake up in this state of daze and confusion. I climb out of bed to the smell of fresh spring rain and smile at the sound of the heaviest rain storm this year, just slamming down onto the metal roof… sounds nice huh? Unfortunately this day became one of the darkest days of my life... Betrayal so deep, ripped the last bit of trust for mankind out of my soul ( or so I thought).. Weakness settled into my body, bringing me to my knees wishing I could just give up on the day.. which doesn’t even compare to the piercing stomach ache from a shattered heart; #betrayl delivered to my life, signed by the only one I’ve ever fully allowed myself to love.. in these moments I realize a family is torn apart, the children and I lose our best friend; dealing with the ups and downs of gone forever. I turn around and look at the rest of my life and my character is #slandered in our hometown, I can’t take a minute with my last best friend because he was my poor baby boi canine (Titus the defender, my 4 year old Dane-iff, who was stolen and still missing a year prior to this entry). As I process other self care ideas; I find myself on my way to find some dirt road therapy and I happen across these two rainbows.. A beautiful view in and of itself; but, beneath these double rainbows is where I last spent time with my Dane-iff… I took in this moment, I started writing my book, and the rest will be history…
