Ivor was really struggling after Geisha passed, it didn't help that I was a mess and couldn't fill the void she left in his life. My sweet boy withdrew and wasn't eating, and although I wasn't ready, I knew he needed a companion and friend - who better than a sister? Geisha's breeder told me she had another black and white female that could potentially take up that mantle. So after a few weeks and tons of photos, video calls and consideration, we went to fetch his baby sister. We have this bed built up for a week now, but the first attempt to try harlie didn't go so well ๐ Today she mastered how to climb from cot, so now a cot is unsafe for her. We still have to get her a bed guard to keep her safe tucked up in bed at night. But I'm dreading this transitioning stage and getting to stay and sleep in her new bed. I can see a few sleepless nights ahead and constant journeys up and down the stairs. Any tips for this transition stage? We all know the sleepless nights because something challenging happened. Even a tiny bit of more stress in our lives can cause a sleepless night. I have already noticed that I sleep differently during a work night than at night when I am free to work on my writing career. My job is fun and engaging. I do not feel it is stressful. I wake up at 4.30 or 5 am - way too early. Knowing this, I go to bed early when I have a workday the next day to get enough sleep. Pull the curtains and switch on the white noise. Physical activity and nutrition: Give ample opportunities for physical activities to ensure they are getting a bit tired plus ensure they are getting adequate nutrition.
