🏠VIVARIUM 2019 (dir. Lorcan Finnegan) Honestly, I love sci-fi thrillers that get me spinning after the credits roll. This one did not disappoint. As much as I love the quirky asshole that is Jesse Eisenberg in other films, this one feels like a wrong casting choice. Macho tough guy doesn't really fit Jesse well. Imogen Poots, though? Absolutely KILLS it. I hadn't seen her in anything else, but this film sold me to her. She carries this film. With all that being said, I loved this story. I loved how unsettling it was. I loved the dread that encompassed the whole atmosphere. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who enjoys existential horror and no happy endings (or was it?). Would I watch this again? Yes. Would I add it to my personal collection? Haunt (2019) 8/10 or 4/5 ♡ Review Below "Let's take off your mask" This was a very interesting and unique horror film. You never really see a lot of Haunted House horror films. This felt very similar to a specific saw film ngl. I'm pretty sure I'm thinking of saw 4. Or whichever one where they go through a building. Especially that shotgun part(ifykyk). Unlike Saw this had somewhat tame gore/blood some scenes were brutal but pretty average. I am never stepping near a shady haunted house ngl. Katie Stevens does great as final girl Harper. This also has a cool twist towards the end. That ending was really sick tbh. These villians are very gross and disgusting looking, however they are very good villians. The Hole in the Ground (2019) de Lee Cronin Una mujer traumada, su hijo pequeño, un cráter en el bosque, una noche el nene desaparece… Justo después de ver Shock (1977) de Mario Bava puse ésta del director de la nueva Evil Dead y para mi sorpresa también era una de madre asustada por el comportamiento extraño de su hijio pequeño. De una casa endemoniada podés salir cagando, de tu hijo es más complicado escaparte. Una experiencia interesante ver una al lado de la otra estas películas con premisas similares pero separadas por 42 años. Si es por comparar me quedo con la de Bava pero porque esas italianadas setentosas coloridas son mi debilidad, pero la de Lee Cronin también está muy bien, y creo que saca alguna ventaja en el rubro miedo, el nene se pone bastante escalofriante. Lo que sí, hubiera preferido un final más intenso, me parece que aflojaron ahí. Hell House LLC 3: Lake of Fire is 2019 American Horror Found Footage film. Years have passed after he first two films and the events. Billionaire Russell Wynn and his interactive show, Insomnia, into the abandoned hotel. Russell invited journalists Vanessa Shepherd, Morning Mystery host, to film an exclusive behind the scenes documentary of the production on their new location: The Abaddon Hotel. As Vanessa gets a tour of the set, the lights turn out for a moment. Everyone is safe, for now. Vanessa meets with Russell and the rest of the Insomnia cast and crew. Everyone is handled with cameras and are told to film anything and everything. When the shoot wraps up; sure lol, all cams will be collected. While reviewing the footage from earlier before the lights went out, Jeff sees a hooded figure standing in the doorway. While talking with Russ in a field where a carnival used to be, Vanessa finds the planchette Brock used. One cast member, Jane, is dared to go into the basement and come back. Before going down, she turns the camera on herself and we see familiar faces behind her. We see our favorite clown friends sitting in the basement. She kisses one and clown man is seen looking at her. Why she doesn't run upstairs instead of crying there is beyond me. Vanessa captures a similar situation with Sara sitting on her bed. Isabel is big with posting on social media. We have images from her account with people in the background, staff from.the first film peering behind corners and lurking in the background. Vanessa wanders through the heaven attraction. When she turns the cam on herself, a mannequin can be seen turn its head. As she goes further, she sees Jessica. As shaken as she is, she sticks it out and remains to complete her documentary. She goes to Russ's hotel to talk to him. She walks in his room to see footage of Mitch and Jess. Weird. Harvey's doing tests on the lights; off and on. He has a female visitor who gets close enough to touch him and freak hin out a bit. Jeff overhears Gregoey talking to a woman, Sara Havel. The paranormal incidents increase. At a night out for dinner, Russ tells Vanessa to not show up for the premier.

Set decades later Doctor Sleep tells the story of the adult Danny Torrance, the five year old son of Jack and Wendy Torrance in The Shining, who is still traumatized by his experience in The Overlook Hotel in 1980 and the demonic possession and eventual death of his father. Danny initially uses alcohol to number his "shining" but with guidance of the spirit of Dick Hallorann, the kindly Overlook staff member who connected with Danny in 1980 due to also possessing the "shine", he overcomes his addiction and finds peace in his life. At the same time a group of traveling spiritualists called The True Knot, gain strength and immortality by murdering and consuming the energy of those with the shining. This leads to Danny having to protect a young girl who possesses the gift and to return to the Overlook. Doctor Sleep relieved positive reviews but underperformed at the box office leading to the cancellation of any sequels or prequels, which is a shame. Ewan McGregor is excellent as a damaged Danny Torrance and is incredibly sympathetic whole Rebecca Ferguson is absolutely incredible as Rose the Hat; a character who exploits maternal qualities for evil gains. Her first scene in the opening of the film is absolutely chilling. If you doubt women can portray credible villains, well you're wrong but this movie and Rebecca Ferguson prove it's not the case. The Dare is a 2019 Horror film. ⚠️ There is a lot of blood, torture and abuse; young Dom is stabbed with a fork. We open up to Jay preparing to leave for a business trip, only to be kidnapped and wakes up in a room with 3 other people, Adam, Kat, and Paul, who doesn't speak much since his mouth is sewn shut. The 4 cant possibly imagine what they all did the end up captive. As the film goes on, we're treated to flashbacks of their captor Dominic. With those flashbacks, we learn what all 4 prisoners have in common and why he's doing this. As a kid, Dom seems.to has been taken by a man, Credence, who raises him and treats him poorly. Dom did have the chance to run away but he goes back to stay. Jay insists on being a loudmouth causing Dom to enter and makes Kat cut flesh from Paul. He instructs Jay to do the same but of course, he does something stupid and the rest of the group pays with minor repercussions. An escape attempt was made by Jay but to no avail. Jay's punishment is to have both hands nailed to the wall. Paul succumbs  to his injuries not before giving a hint about Dom, the horseshoe print on his hand. Another flashback shows all for of them sitting around a campfire telling scary stories when they have a run in with Dom in the woods. First they make him hold a bug in his mouth that he swallows; just like Kat and a spider in then put on his head and crawls in his ear, hands are "nailed" to the ground like Jay, etc. As a teen, Dom learns what happened to his family and his real name, Henry, by sneaking into the locked room. Jay tries to make good with Dom by apologizing for what they did to his as kids but his attempt just  lands Kat with an earful of some substance; all this time Dom has been silent but tells Jay to inject it in her ear. The group are all taken out and it's justJay and Dom. Does Jay make it home to his family or does Dom keep up this torturous cycle to rid the evil from people who have wronged him? Who knows, one thing though, the new batch of teens in the woods telling the same story might be in for a real treat.

The Dutch film, The Columnist, is an adult study of cyberbullying and the drastic measures that a journalist will go through to exact a pound of flesh from her trolls. I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu is a 2019 American Horror/Rape/Revenge film. ⚠️ Once again this has volence, rape, etc. Not your thing or it makes you uneasy, you get the idea ✌ Our movie opens with flashbacks of the events from the original. 40 years later, Jennifer Hills wrote a bestseller about her ordeal and is now a rape counselor. Her daughter Christy is a successful model. The family of the rapists have their plan for revenge. The gang includes Johnny's wife Becky, Johnny's mom Millie, Johnny's dad Henry, Matthew's grandmother Beady eyes, Matt's dad, Herman, Andy's cousin Scotty, and Stanley's brother Kevin. What a mouthful. Christy and Jen meet up for dinner and chat. When they leave, they're approached by Kev and Scott in a white creeper van. Both are taken to the country where Kev and Scott pick up Becky. The drive continues for a while and Becky makes a comment about Christy's eyes 🤔 They drive off with Jen to where Matt was hanged and is made to dig a hole but she escapes. Christy is taken to an unknown location. Christy manages to get Scott to pull over to ise the bathroom and she uses this opportunity to escape and whacks Scott with a branch. She steals his truck to find her mom. Jen is picked up by an odd couple and dropped off in a cemetery and heads to the nearby church. Becky finds Jen and decapitates her. Just as Becky leaves, Christy arrives and find her mom's body. Becky comes back and chases Christy in the woods where she is attacked by Herman and Kevin who then proceeds to tear off her clothes. Herman starts to assault her but can't do it so Kevin knocks her out and assaults her. Herman tries to be nice and help her up when she comes to but is faced by Becky. She starts to assault Christy with the help of Scott and Kev but is stopped by Herman and allows her to escape. The gang bring Jen's body to Johnny's grave and dumps itin a nearby hole. Now it's Christy's turn to get her revenge. First is Herman who is attacked with a sickle then shot. While out looking for Christy, Kevin is ambushed by her. She orders him to strip and seduces him by giving him a handy before stabbing him in the balls.

Watching Little Monsters 2019 A teacher, a struggling musician, and a kids' show personality join forces to protect young children during an unexpected zombie invasion. Decent horror comedy. The movie does start off slow. You won’t see any zombies until 20 or 30 minutes in the movie. It’s not Shaun of the dead, but it has its funny moments. Josh Gad is the main reason why I picked this movie up. He’s hilarious in anything. The only thing I wish they changed is the name of the movie. Just because there’s already a movie called Little Monsters that was made in 1989 starring Howie Mandel and Fred Savage. Starring Josh Gad. Diesel La Torraca, Alexander England, and Kat Stewart. So if you haven’t seen Little Monsters and you like a fun a zombie flick with comedy. Room for Rent is a 2019 Mystery/Horror film about a housewife renting out her room for the company. Joyce Smith is grieving her husband's death after he slipped off the roof. Joyce ends up having a few encounters with some teens after she watched them at the skate park. She is told that her husband owed money on a loan but she's unable to pay it. After finding a magazine that teaches homeowners to turn their homes into B&B's, she decides to do that. Soon after, asshat hubby Edward and writer Sarah move in but Ed immediately wants to leave but Sarah stays in touch via letters. Later, a man named Bob moves in. Joyce becomes infatuated with him and starts to dress up and even gets a satellite dish so he can watch football. Joyce starts snooping through Bob's things, even using his toothbrush. Bob walks in on her but she plays it off. Bob ends up defending Joyce against the teens that harrassed her a few times earlier. Sarah visits Joyce. She and Bob get close and intimate. This doesn't make Joyce happy and it breaks the bond they formed. Sarah learns from Joyce's neighbor Gladys that Joyce has abandonment issues and that Joyce was forced to abort her baby. By now, we know that Joyce is a liar. Sarah leaves and Joyce visits Gladys and kills her via suffocation. Bob returns and she tells him that Sarah left back to her husband; another lie just to make him feel bad. Bob catches Joyce snooping again and he's very cautious about her but still stays. Joyce fakes an illness to get some sleeping pills and uses it to spike Bob's food which leads to her doing more snooping while he's unconscious and find coke which she tastes and snorts. A drugged up Joyce then touches Bob, checks out his package and kisses him (SA is still assault no matter the gender or circumstance). Bob gets a letter from Sarah saying she's pregnant and all about Joyce and her lies. Bob says he's leaving but is quickly stopped by a frying pan to the face. Joyce then disposes of the body, sells the bike, and buries his belongings. She invites Sarah back to watch over her house while she goes on a vacation for a few months. Little does Sara know is that Joyce has has been busy redecorating.
