In the early phases of preproduction, the film was said to be not a "remake" nor a "reboot" but a "recalibration" of the character #MichaelMyers However, after co-Writer and Director #DavidGordonGreen and co-Writer #DannyMcBride took over the project, these two stated that it would be none of the aforementioned, and that the film was going to be a direct continuation of #Halloween from 1978. Producer #JasonBlum from @blumhouse claims to have never worked on a project as anticipated as this film. This movie became the highest grossing "Halloween" film in the franchise in its opening weekend #JamieLeeCurtis had immediately hit it off with co-writer and director David Gordon Green, crediting him as reminding her of original 1978 Halloween director and suspense master #JohnCarpenter While Carpenter intended for this film, with his involvement, to be the last definitive Halloween specifically featuring antagonist Michael Myers, co-writer McBride and Green quickly indicated that possible sequels were not out of the question, with the concept of creating a rounded trilogy. Carpenter later said that he was open to suggestions as long as he is being paid. Blumhouse loves to tease me with interesting concepts, but continues to produce such generic horror flicks that I almost know exactly how they will play out in the end. The acting is fine, but some of the dialogue and the very poor decisions made were irritating. The cinematography is actually really good; I thought the film looked nice, but the CGI and cheap jump scares ruin all the “scary” parts. Many of the “scary” scenes happen during the day which was interesting for a film called Night Swim lol. Overall, another let down from Blumhouse that could’ve better as a straight to video Amityville Swimming Pool 🤷♂️. ________________ (Would I recommend/rewatch this?) -I would recommend Infinity Pool, although it’s not about a haunted pool 😅. Film 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣ Omen - L' origine del presagio Reinterpretando una citazione del maestro Renée Ferretti mi verrebbe da dire con stupita gioia: "Non ci credo, un prequel normale", o meglio, "un horror normale" (perché questo film non è solo bello come prequel, ma anche come film a sé). Con "normale" intendo un horror/prequel fatto anche di scrittura; nessuna clamorosa originalità, sia chiaro, ma finalmente personaggi non scemi, una narrazione che non sbrocca mai (tutto è logico all' interno del contesto che ci viene mostrato), non ti viene da rimproverare il protagonista per delle scelte stupide da horror per ragazzini. Siamo al cospetto di un buon film; il mio esultare dipende solo dalla visione di delusioni recenti. Regia della esordiente Arkasha Stevenson ispiratissima, con inquadrature di una bellezza mozzafiato e grande abilità nel creare la paura senza ridursi ai soliti jump scare. PS: per me Jason Blum dovrebbe fare una sola cosa: chiamare questa regista e implorare il suo aiuto per un certo sequel. #Lionsgate and #Blumhouse announced on Wednesday that they are partnering up to reimagine the 1999 cult horror classic #TheBlairWitchProject for a new generation. #JasonBlum will team up with producer #RoyLee,who previously produced the franchise’s 2016 film Blair Witch, on the upcoming thriller. Blum stated in his announcement, “I’m very grateful to Adam and the team at Lionsgate for letting us play in their sandbox.
