For many of us homeschool mamas, the “homeschool year” is over, or almost over, so keep fighting the good fight, and know that you are enough, have done enough, and are doing enough. You are making an impact for generations, and more importantly, for eternity. Even if the curriculum “year” is over, we never stop doing all those things above for our children. Just like we never really stop learning… We learn in every adventure, exploration, play time, baking and cooking time, pool time, farm chore, house chore, game, sport, art, and music lesson. Your kids are always learning. And when you offer them many ways to learn, not just the curriculum, and let them explore their interests… they become well educated. So yesterday we started a new chapter!! We finally made the decision to leave his current primary school. We are starting our homeschooling journey for a few weeks until his new primary school place is offered to us. His tutor starts Friday morning. I will be juggling my beauty business, home schooling and being a football mam for the next few weeks so please bear with me! The NICU experience taught me that I didn’t want to be the mom that missed it all so I did something about it. Hunter was born at 26 weeks and spent 119 days in the NICU. When I was pregnant with him I had no idea how we were going to make it all work with me working 2 jobs - 60 hour weeks. It’s interesting how life works. With nothing saved up and only about half of what we needed for Hunter, I landed in the hospital at 25 weeks with the unknown of how long I would be there. Immediately I quit one of my jobs knowing once Hunter came home there was no way we could get him to doctor’s appointments if I was working daily. Less than a year later I lost my other job. No idea how we were going to make it but I was determined to choose family first. A few months later I made the decision to start making money on social media. It’s been over 6 years now and yeah, some days are harder than others. Yeah, I have had my fair share of roller coaster moments in life and business. One thing I’m certain about is this: I was never meant to work for someone else — I was meant to share with other moms how they can stay home, make money and never miss that time with their kids. So excited to share that Noah will be attending a Christian school next fall as he enters 6th grade. 🎉 • As I’ve said before we take homeschooling one year at a time, and also base it on what each individual kid needs/wants. Noah is getting older, school is more demanding, he is very social, and also in order to continue to pursue his baseball dreams he will need to play on a high school team in the future. • We absolutely love the school and it aligns with our beliefs and goals for him spiritually, academically and athletically. • Our other kids will continue to be homeschooled for now. And I have a little while longer before the triplets finish first grade because we’ve had to slow the pace. And we’re doing Ant week this week with a focus on opinion writing. This was carry into next week as well, because ants are just so fun to learn about and write. This book is so awesome! Hello I’m Eve! 👋🏼 It’s been a while since I’ve done an introductory post… and there’s a lot of new faces here! Creeping up to 20k & I’m not even sure how just sharing our homeschool lifestyle got this far. I started this homeschool blog platform back in June of 2019… since then it’s evolved to much more than just homeschool. Yet, homeschool continues to be the main focus… with my faith, lifestyle, Motherhood, holistic health, urban homesteading, homemaking & more… Sharing the things on my heart & what I learn along this life. My bio summarizes it pretty good I think. Here’s a little more about me… I’m 36 and will be 37 next month. 😅 Time flies! I married my high school sweetheart & we have been married for 14 years but total 21 together. We have and homeschool 3 children. Ages 13, 10, and 6. Will start homeschooling high school soon. I’m going into my 11th year of homeschooling. We’ve been doing this since the very beginning with my oldest. I’ve gone through seasons of homeschooling; pregnant, with a newborn, toddler… transitioning with homeschooling multiple children. It’s a wild ride but one I’d pick everytime if given the chance to again! My faith is everything to me… You’ll see that a lot what I have to share & say will involve God. He’s the reason I’m here in the first place. Many, many times I’ve wanted to throw in the towel… even though I love supporting, sharing, and encouraging on here… it’s hard to be vulnerable and do this day in and day out. But to share what he has done in my life and how he helps us through all the challenges we face, that’s why I stay! I know I’m to speak and share about him… this is the best way I can to reach as many as I can nowadays. We all have a story & a walk… if I can at least share and show glimpses of mine, I know it’s right. In all we do, may it point to him. Anyways I’m an open book for the most part! When it comes to homeschooling it’s no easy decision. As a matter of fact, it’s been almost 10 years and still going. Did I just say that out-loud? Honestly there were days that I thought about throwing in the towel but I kept going. I’m so glad that I chose to say the course. So many blessings I’ve received. And God has given me so much through this journey. So many have asked if I have a degree to teach, what curriculum do you use, do you interact with others…No I don’t have a teaching degree (associate in business)…but honestly as a mom, everyday is a learning and teaching moment. We use a mixture of curriculums. When you have different children, different learning ways…you adjust. Lastly, if you could really sit down and listen to my kids, they can talk to anyone little into the golden years. They can relate on various age levels…not just their age group. Some adults cannot even do that. While COVID may have been a reason why some chose to go this route, we just kept doing what we were doing. Not much changed. While going on errands, people around us and the enforced rules did have a play in our life. It changed perception and how quickly life changed. And now, knowing we are back to normal but there’s imprints that don’t go away. We persevered.
