You’re not a failure. I left my son with my ex when I had to get divorced 5 years ago. I had no home, no friends or relatives and decided it’ll be best for him to stay with his dad. He’s got amazing dad just the “husband” part didn’t work out. This 5 years D tells me that I broke his life into half, that I broke his heart, that he feels angry at me for ruining the family. What helped me the most to feel better about it and to finally believe that I’m not a failure as a mom is to hear my therapist say that we all, always, traumatize our children. No matter how hard we try. That’s how life works. I truly believe that having divorced but happy mom leads to way better relationship choices for him in the future. He learned how to deal with sadness and anger and became emotionally mature in a natural way. He’s still a kid who plays and misbehaves sometimes but he’s aware of himself, he’s sincere and he can stand up for himself. If I ask him now, should I go back to his dad he says no, I want you to be happy. And I am. We never know what life brings and why your child choose you as a parent. But it was a choice of the soul and it 100% had a purpose. It’s yours to discover why you chose your parents and grow from the answer. It’s a pure magic in it. I just want to wish Happy Mother’s day to all moms and who plays this amazing role, regardless of gender. I wish you to feel relaxed and loved and remember that you are never a failure. Not a single person on Earth can judge you for what you do and who you are. Love yourself. And hug your kid extra, today and always ❤️ So much love! Happy Mother’s day!!!
