Fun, visually stunning and heartwarming! THE MITCHELLS VS THE MACHINES tells a fun robot invasion tale, while also hitting hard with the film being about family and the importance of cherishing one another despite the collective flaws. Katie is leaving off to college and seems to have a struggling relationship with her dad, all she wants to do is escape this family and finally find her own creativity and life. I like that the film touches on her love of filmmaking as well as her short films, many features the adorable Dog character who is the MVP of the whole film in general. The voice work is all great; Maya Rudolph and Danny McBride do a great job as the parents. The plot them lands them on a road trip to college while a robot invasion is also going on. And it is up to the Mitchell’s to save all humanity. I seriously loved the dynamics with the family and all their little quirks and dysfunctions. There is also a dramatic back and forth between Katie and her dad, and I loved that the film did not pick sides, especially being that it is a movie for kids. This decision elevates the film and thus makes their whole ordeal much more emotional to witness. Also, the whole plot with the robot invasion and commentary on our reliance on technology was fun and thought provoking. Visually the creativity is on fire too; there are moments scattered throughout that will mix in 2D animation along with the cgi rendered animation which was really cool and fun. It felt like animated free styling and I liked it. Two standout scenes for me; giant Furby, and mom going rage mode near the end. Overall, it is a great film for the whole family with a powerful message on the bonds that help keep people together. The animation was stunning and also it made for a very funny overall experience. 8/10 #themitchellsvsthemachines #michaelrianda #jeffrowe

. THE MITCHELLS VS THE MACHINES This is a comical collision between two generations in a technological apocalypse. Believe it or not, the plot works. At last we have a movie with a story that reflects the interaction of an ordinary family with today's technology. We see how the generation of the internet, social networks and viral videos collide with the generation of old hobbies outside the cyber world, such as camping, cooking or spending time with the family. Not only that, but we also see this collision transform into a fusion where emotions and blood ties serve as the glue. Ad hoc humor at all times. Embarrassing situations, personality conflicts, clumsy movements and much more, always in total synchrony with a very well developed script and very well done animation, especially focused on gestures and non-verbal communication. The only bad thing is an excess of enthusiasm in the approach and construction of the villain to be defeated, also exaggerating the adverse event to be overcome. But their plans to bond as a family soon get interrupted when the world's electronic devices come to life to stage an uprising. With help from two friendly robots, the Mitchells must now come together to save one another -- and the planet -- from the new technological revolution. . I first came across this movie when I was watching Cinema Therapy on YouTube and they did a video about family relationships using this movie. (By the way, I strongly recommend that YouTube channel). Anyways, The Mitchells vs. The Machines is a great film that not only shows realistic family dynamics but is also pretty funny. It’s colorful and has a unique plot. I feel like where this film excels though, is when the focal point is the tension between Katie and her father. . Like I said, this film is very unique and I recommend it heavily. Despite the tensions in the family the film is still a fun and light watch. This coincides with a AI, "Pal" (Olivia Coleman) going rogue and controlling her replacement robots, ordering them to capture all of the humans. This leaves the Mitchells and their pug/pig/loaf of bread, Monchi along with a couple of dysfunctional and slightly camp robots to save humanity. I Mitchell contro le macchine Film del 2021 diretto da Michael Rianda e candidato agli oscar come miglior film d'animazione. I Mitchell partono per un viaggio di famiglia attraverso il paese per accompagnare la figlia maggiore Katy al college, dove vuole realizzare il suo sogno di diventare regista. Le cose si complicano quando la tecnologia decide di rivoltarsi contro gli umani. Cartone davvero molto simpatico e diverso dal solito: a momenti può sembrare infatti un po' scemotto, ma rivela una bella storia ricca di insegnamenti e bastata sulla forza dell'unione familiare oltre che a farti sbellicare dalle risate. Mi è piaciuto il fatto di aggiungere in delle scene stickers e sullo sfondo per far emergere il punto di vista della ragazza adolescente, che possono sembrare un po' demenziali, ma a parer mio danno un tocco di unicità al film. La storia anche è carina anche se molto semplice, ma che si nota che non punta ad essere nulla di più, e ho apprezzato molto i diversi punti di vista da una parte sull'abuso della tecnologia e dall'altra sull'ostinatezza insensata del suo completo rifiuto. Una lotta contro un esercito di robot, ma anche contro le incomprensioni di una famiglia che deve riscoprire quanto è legata, una pellicola che ho apprezzato molto per cui il voto che mi sento di dargli è 7,5. Por muitos e diversos motivos: • A história pode não ser nova (o mundo sendo salvo por quem menos se espera), mas é tão divertido e emocionante! Desde o início a gente é envolvido na história, torcemos por cada um dos defeitos dos personagens e queremos continuar acompanhando a saga de crescimento e libertação. • Além disso, trás temas bastante adultos mas com uma roupagem se fácil entendimento sem ser bobo (as crianças de todas as idades conseguirão acompanhar a história em suas várias camadas). A base principal é o conflito geracional com a chegada da adolescência, porém muitos outros pontos são abordados, como aceitação, amor, tecnologia, relações tóxicas, entre outros. • E o que dizer das dezenas de referências na película toda?! Tem muito a ver com nossa realidade, onde as pessoas são muito dependentes do celular e não desgrudam por nenhum momento. E sem ser muito chato mas teve algumas coisas que eu não gostei, lá vai. É muito longo, com algumas conveniências de roteiro e um pouco exagerado e repetitivo no drama.
