(photo taken on 22nd of September 2023, Maisons de Victor Hugo, Paris, France) „During the exile (1851-1870) „The Chinese living room“ This room, which was formerly the drawing room, today introduces the period of exile which would last 19 years. After the overthrow of Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte, on 2 December 1851, Victor Hugo leaves France, initially moving to Brussels and then to the Channel Islands. He stays at Jersey (1852- 1855) before moving to Guernsey (1855- 1870) where he acquires Hauteville House which he completely renovates himself (it was donated by the Hugo family in 1927 and is today the second site of the museum).Juliette Drouet lives discretely at Guernsey, on the fringe of the Hugo family, at La Fallue (1857-1864) then at „Hauteville II“ (1864-1870). With his carpenters, Victor Hugo decorates these two houses and designs the furniture. In 1864 he makes panels, which are engraved and painted, using a technique without doubt inspired by some Chinese panels, two examples of which are located on either side of the main chimney. The characters, or the fantasy of the poet, play on his sources of inspiration, bringing touches of humour to intimate references: such as the Chinese person savouring a fish with the inscription Shu-Zan an allusion to Suzanne, who was Juliette’s cook. The decoration of the room was completed with numerous ceramics, furniture and panels, creating the atmosphere of the „old Chinese Holland“ which Hugo adored. Ela destaca essa ideia do "nó", que ao mesmo tempo que pode sustentar a existência e união de um casal, os machuca e os prende em velhos ciclos viciosos que talvez não façam mais sentido. Em Noivo Neurótico, Noiva Nervosa, nós podemos acompanhar passo a passo o processo de surgimento dos nós na relação de Alvy e Annie, bem como a gradual percepção, principalmente por parte da personagem da Diane Keaton, de que talvez não seja mais necessário continuar se machucando mutuamente pelos mesmos motivos. Mas além de só destacar a necessidade de olhar para o nó da relação, Feijoo alerta para a importância na terapia de casal de se ter cuidado para não tomar lados, de não buscar entender quem é culpado pelo quê, até porque é assim que o terapeuta pode conseguir verdadeiramente enxergar o nó, ou o que é esse casal qua se apresenta enquanto união de individualidades. Ter isso em mente pode não ser muito fácil, principalmente quando se observa ou se escuta os relatos sobre comportamentos claramente egoístas como os feitos por Alvy e apontados por Annie, ou mesmo quando temos conhecimento do que alguém como Woody Allen fez com a Mia Farrow. Mas quando dois indivíduos se dispõem a fazer uma terapia de casal, é nossa obrigação ter paciência e dar o passo para trás que vem quando somos lembrados de que "é desse modo que a psicoterapeuta de casal se posiciona frente a tensão que aparece no casal - ela não toma partido - ela se atenta ao conflito presente no interior da relação. CINEMA: O humor, entre muitas coisas, é a arte de dizer algo que lá no fundo nós sabemos ou pensamos, mas que ao mesmo tempo não esperamos que seja dito. Isso porque, quando somos surpreendendidos com esse não dito vindo à tona, junto dele costuma vir uma explosão física e emocional que chamamos de riso. Essa é uma versão ou forma conceitual de ver o que é o humor, mas é uma versão, assim como várias outras que podem e são exploradas e representadas em Noivo Neurótico, Noiva Nervosa: monólogos irônicos e autodepreciativos, a quebra da quarta parede, o uso de falas não diagéticas para mostrar o que o personagem está pensando numa situação bizarra, ou mesmo a metalinguagem de apresentar os stand-ups do protagonista Alvy Singer (Woody Allen), que na história do filme é um humorista. Inclusive, o filme começa com um monólogo em que Alvy, entre muitas piadas e referências, conta que terminou com Annie Hall (Diane Keaton). Isso cria duas situações curiosas que acompanhamos por toda a história, porque se por um lado sabemos que a relação amorosa que veremos surgir de uma forma super real, com suas situações constrangedoras, brigas difíceis e momentos sublimes como a famosa cena da lagosta, vai inevitavelmente chegar ao fim, por outro lado, temos apenas a perspectiva de Alvy sobre o arco dramático do romance. Ou seja, sabemos já nos primeiros segundos qual será o fim do relacionamento, mas somos sempre levados a questionar não só qual será a perspectiva de Annie nisso tudo, como quanta culpa Alvy de fato tem nesse término. Mas o complicado, e ao mesmo tempo genial dessa estrutura de história que o Woody Allen constrói, é que ele coloca tão à mostra suas falhas por meio da autodepreciação, que se torna difícil tentar ver o outro lado numa ótica de "quem será que é o culpado?". Nós somos então levados a entender muito mais os problemas que mantinham a relação de Annie e Alvy existindo, do que o que os levou a terminar. Então quando o que lá no fundo nós já sabíamos que aconteceria finalmente acontece, com Alvy dizendo que nos mantemos dentro dos nossos relacionamentos porque precisamos dos ovos, nós damos uma leve risada. #cinema #psicologia #cultura #anniehall

Today, I watched Annie Hall, a rom-com about a NY comedian who became recently single and ponders what exactly went wrong. Without resorting to bringing up the obvious controversies regarding my views on Woody Allen, I've always found him to be an extremely hit and miss director. I'm not sure if I'm on the minority or majority with my criticisms of some of his work. To be honest, I'm not a fan of him when he acts in his own movies. Most of the films I actually love from him are the ones that he's not in the lead role or just simply doesn't appear in it, which is why I do have some interest in seeing his latest film. Even when I was getting into directors at an early age, I always found him incredibly obnoxious. Being stuck in a room with him and Quentin Tarantino would probably be a personal hell for me. I can acknowledge that Annie Hall is not without its funny moments, and he is clearly self-aware that he is obnoxious, which is why I've never fully disliked Annie Hall. I'm very picky with romantic comedies, and there are enough traits that help make Annie Hall stand out from the pack, even during a time where a small amount of classic comedies fall in danger of aging poorly. The scene with him sneezing on the line of cocaine. Imagine being stuck in a room with a coked out 1970s Woody Allen. I do like Annie Hall, but it's not even Top 5 or 10 for me of his films.
