Making sure I keep getting my workouts in, especially after having gastric bypass surgery on July 26. of 2023. I also changed my eating habits as well. It's definitely a whole lifestyle change, as well as mindset. After bariatric sleeve surgery about 9 months in and feeling great! So a week has gone since the surgery. And so far so good! Monday - got into hospital and surgery just after 3pm. Dr later said it look just over 1h and was very straightforward. Waking up from the anaesthesia though took until 9pm and even today I still feel lingering effects. Tuesday - rehydrating and sipping all the time. Had a tiny portion of tomatoe soup at dinner. Pain is pretty bad still. Wednesday - going home. That’s as much yogurt I can eat in one go 😂 realised I need more frequent small meals than what I had so far to help with stomach acidity and pain. Being home is great! Thursday to Saturday - just chilling at home. Pain is getting better each day and im reducing meds doses. I can drink more. See the pic for the diet I’m following #121diet in the liquid form. Plus 500ml protein water by @drinkvieve and 500ml of pain water/green tea. Energy levels slowly increasing - went to do a small shop on Sat and pottering round the house, bits of cleaning, laundry, cooking for the family. On Tue none of this would have been possible yet :) So bring me to today - Sunday. I’m now 95kg so -4kg this week. Bandages are off as skin around surgery wounds is now getting irritated from bandage glue. But everything is healing and drying up nicely. Pain is much better but I still get tired quicker than before. Feel a bit MIA the past few days. Truth is ivd not had much to post as I’ve been really off my food. Spent quite a few days feeling nauseous before or after food. I’ve not had much inspiration food wise or eaten that much. Felt better today and managed to get some protein in including these vegetarian chilli peppers with melted cheese… a freezer find from when I did my LRD. Managed to eat half. Spezzatino di manzo con patate 🥔 Sapore di ricordi … la mamma ce lo faceva spesso e dopo aver mangiato carne e patate era il tipico piatto da super scarpetta !! Polpa di manzo scelta (basta chiedere al macellaio quella giusta per lo spezzatino) 1/2 kg Patate (più o meno in egual misura alla carne) Cipolle, sedano, carote per soffritto Concentrato di pomodoro (3 cucchiai) 1 cucchiaio di farina Rosmarino Sale Pepe 1 l di brodo di carne circa 1 tazzina da caffè di vino bianco In una pentola dai bordi alti mettere un po’ di olio e le verdure per il soffritto (in quantità a piacimento, io vado ad occhio); lasciar risolare due minuti e poi aggiungere la carne a cubetti grandi circa 2 cm, poi salarla e peparla. Quando la carne risulterà rosolata da tutti i lati aggiungere un cucchiaio di farina mescolando bene e poi aggiungere brodo fino a coprire la carne. Mettere poi nella pentola anche i 3 cucchiai di concentrato di pomodoro e il rosmarino e chiudere la pentola con il coperchio; lasciar cuocere a fuoco medio/basso per 1 ora avendo cura di aggiungere brodo a seconda della necessitá. Passata un ora aggiungere le patate precedentemente pelate e tagliate a tocchetti di 2 cm come la carne. Al bisogno aggiungere altro brodo. Richiudere la pentola con il coperchio e lasciar cuocere dai 20 ai 30 minuti, mescolare di tanto in tanto e assaggiare per la cottura ! Fusilli con crema di Broccoli e broccoletti croccanti🥦 Il broccolo 😍 quel vegetale incompreso che puzzando si inimica la gente ma che in realtà cela un “animo” succulento 😂 PER LA CREMA Broccoli (io avevo quelli surgelati ma vanno bene anche freschi) Granella di pistacchi o pistacchi interi Noci Grana grattugiato Olio extra vergine Acqua di cottura Per I BROCCOLETTI CROCCANTI Pan grattato Grana gratuggiato Olio extra Mettere in una pentola con acqua salata circa 5/6 cime di broccolo per persona e far cuocere per circa 7 minuti (controllare la cottura con una forchetta). Trasferire poi alcune cime (di 6 ne ho messe 5 e una l’ho tenuta da parte) nel boccale di un mixer o di un mini pimer ed unirvi le noci (1 per persona), la granella di pistacchi (un cucchiaio per persona) , un cucchiaio di grana gratuggiato, un cucchiaino di extravergine, un pizzico di sale ed un cucchiaio di acqua di cottura (da aggiungere a seconda della consistenza che si desidera ottenere). Mixare il tutto e lasciare da parte. Nel frattempo mettere a bollire l’acqua per la pasta. Dalla cima di broccolo messa da parte ricavare alcune piccole cimette staccando i “rametti”. Passare poi le cime in un goccino di olio extra e successivamente nel pane grattato mischiato al grana gratuggiato. Mettere poi le cimette in friggitrice ad aria per 8 minuti a 200 gradi o in forno pre riscaldato per 15 minuti a 220 gradi . Una volta che l’acqua bolle calare la pasta e attendere la cottura finale. Scolare e unire la crema di broccoli che avevamo preparato ed unirvi anche i broccoli croccanti (se si vuole salarli leggermente, io ho preferito di no perchè il grana li rende già sapidi) ! Throw Back Thursday ❤️. . . . 2016 doesn't feel like that long ago, but then again it feels like entire life time ago. I just graduated from college, struggled to find a job, had our Seattle vacation canceled last minute due to leave for work. It felt like a year of heartache over and over. . . . 2016 was a year of hardship, struggles and growth. We decided to start looking to move elsewhere for work Early on in 2017, Seattle came to mind as our end goal, and on June 1 2017, I had a job in Bellevue Washington. It's crazy that it went from a year of unknowns in these photos to moving up north to an unknown state. But also so much excitement with it. . . . Walk number one done for today! . . . Sundays seem to be the best day to go the walks. Every one is asleep or in church so we have the roads to our self and just get to talk, run, train the dog with out distractions from others. . . . I remember a year ago going on a walk for 10 minutes was the worst thing in the world. I hated it. I didn't want it. It was extremely hard for me. . . . Today we on over a mile walk and it was just so peaceful, relaxing and the best part of my morning. My husband and pup keep me going each day! WHATTTT, LOOK AT THOSE COLLAR BONES 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 December 2019 - February 2021 I’ve been pretty MIA the past few weeks - busy with work, busy with lockdown, busy with life (plus I met a boy who now happens to be my boyfriend 🙊) and I’m just so so tired all the time! I’ve had my follow up with my surgeon, and he was SO proud of my efforts. however... I did get a lecture about not taking my multivitamins! 🤦🏼♀️ my blood tests have shown that I’m pretty low in iron - which would explain why I’m tired all the time. I haven’t been eating the best, and the number on the scales have slowed down. I’m currently sitting at 77.4kg which is now a total loss of 34.6kg since the start of pre-op in June 2020. I’m definitely noticing huge changes in my body and my views towards myself. I am so much happier than I was 12 months ago.
