🌟 Southern Belle's Ball 🌟 What an event! And what an honour to be a part of!!!! When Lizzie first asked me to be a part of the ball, I thought she was insane! 😂 I also didn't have a clue what I was doing, but I figured, what's the harm in giving it a go? Fast forward to the ball, and aside from running round like a headless chicken whilst Lin & Ade were cool as cucumbers, I couldn't help but spare a moment to take in just how far we've come as a charity...and I couldn't be more proud of Lizze & the rest of the girls!!!! I had weight loss surgery almost four years ago… almost. The picture on the left was in Rome almost 5 years ago (pre VSG) and the picture on the right is in London just this week. There’s roughly a 50-60 pound difference. Can you see it 😳😳😳 … Whelp 💁🏾♀️ … 4 years out here are some of MY bitter truths … 1️⃣ It will change your physical relationship with food but not the mental piece. That will be a constant battle. 2️⃣ It’s not the magic pill. There is no magic pill. This lifestyle is work. 3️⃣ You will more than likely gain weight back. It is the natural progression of things. You won’t gain all of it back but it all really depends on you. 4️⃣ You will put more pressure on yourself than ever before because you think everyone is watching but the truth of the matter is … who cares? 5️⃣ You need to constantly look back at pictures of your former self for motivation … and reminders. Sometimes to motivate you to not go back. Other times as a reminder of how much of a bad ass you are for coming this far! 5️⃣ There are so many options to lose weight now. I would absolutely choose WLS again BUT I also encourage others to do what is BEST for them. I have recently started a Semaglutide (think Wegovy/Ozempic) journey to get back on track 😳😳😳 I will share more on that later 👀 but it feels like a pouch reset … IYKYK 6️⃣ Never give up! I have been LOVING embracing my style and ideas in outfits and I will continue to do so and that includes wearing the shorts, skirts, skorts, tank tops, tube tops, spaghetti strap, and all the other things I want because it makes me HAPPY! It does take a lot of self discovery and love to get to this point.
