Cleansing is really important when it comes to acne-prone skin. Without proper cleansing, you can end up with more congestion but you also don’t want to overdo it. If your skin feels dry after cleansing, you can end up compromising the barrier which in turn causes sensitivity, inflammation and an overproduction of sebum - the exact opposite of what your skin needs. THIS could be why 👇👇 Caffeine is metabolized in the liver, but not everyone metabolizes it at the same speed. This depends largely on the activity of a certain enzyme (called CYP1A2). Depending on the activity of this enzyme, you could be a slow metabolizer or a fast metabolizer of caffeine. Caffeine affects individuals differently due to variations in their nervous system sensitivity and metabolism. Slow metabolizers feel the effects of caffeine more intensely—with jitters, nervousness, restlessness, racing heart, or trouble sleeping. Fast metabolizers don’t. 🧬 This is based on genetics! 🥁🥁🥁 Ready for it?? The most overlooked nutrient that is essential for healthy detoxification and a regulated nervous system is… PROTEIN 💥 Protein is crucial for the nervous system because it helps make neurotransmitters, the chemicals that send messages between nerve cells, and supports the structure of nerve cells. Did you know that The World Health Organisation reports that depression and anxiety disorders cost the global economy an estimated $1 trillion in lost productivity each year? Insane right?! Yet despite the prevalence of mental health issues, many employees hesitate to seek help due to stigma and lack of support in the workplace. As a corporate wellness coach, I’ve witnessed firsthand the toll that untreated mental health issues take on employees; The decreased productivity. The strained relationships. The missed opportunities for growth and fulfilment. And yet, despite the prevalence of these issues, there remains a pervasive stigma surrounding mental health in the workplace. But it doesn’t have to be this way. I’m a firm believer that every employee deserves to feel supported, valued, and empowered to prioritise their mental health and well-being. That’s why I’m on a mission to challenge the status quo, to break down barriers, and to create workplaces where mental health is not just an afterthought but a fundamental aspect of organisational culture. But perhaps most importantly, my mission is about instilling hope. Heads Up- I’m stepping away a few days early this week to prep for my upcoming nasty few weeks! I just hit my 30th year teaching/training/working on gym floors and my spine needs a pick me up. Literally. 😂 I’ll be heading into another spine surgery Monday and I’m needing to prepare my businesses for my time off. I’ll answer my messages soon so hang tight! I have a full client load that averages 17.5 hours a week and they come first so I’ll set them up with my other trainers or train them from my app. But that takes time! Two whiny, elderly cats. Two kids each four hours away. A man child. Two facilities that are ran exclusively by me and my awesome staff! All while having bone on bone in my spine. Oh- and 3 hours a week of physical therapy and chiropractic work to stay walking. 😂 💪🏋️‍♂️ How do I do it? (I get asked that at least twice every week!) Not very well currently or that’s how it seems. So, I’m exhausted and taking a few days off early to prepare things, staff and myself. You’re welcome to reach out with business matters but my reply might be delayed or a staff member might be the one to answer instead of me. If you get a hysterical response next week then it’s drugged me and my hubs isn’t monitoring my phone good enough. I get this question a lot. 🤔 Maybe you’re eating vegetables, staying hydrated, moving your body, and even using a dry skin brush or epsom salt baths but… 👉👉What about alcohol? Here are the facts: ✔️When you drink, 90% of the alcohol is processed by your liver. ✔️Alcohol is first converted into an even more toxic compound, acetaldehyde. You can be honest without being rude. You can be kind and still say no. A lot of times I hold myself back, I say things which are not true to my heart, or I say yes when actually I want to say no. And there are times when I become aggressive and angry, and that's because I don't know what I need and I don't set up healthy boundaries. Sharing about Assertive Communication is also about me learning and practicing it, day by day. It's not always easy of course and I stumble and fall too. But I've gained a lot more self-confidence and self-trust along the way. Imagine if we can apply this healthy communication style in our relationships. And in our workplace! Only this week I came across a post on LinkedIn that received quite a lot of controversial opinions. The topic was on corporate wellness programs with the author of the view that they are nothing but a big fat waste of money! I couldn’t disagree more with him… As a Corporate Wellness Coach myself, I respectfully challenge the notion that these initiatives are mere extravagance. Here’s why… A well-designed corporate wellness program isn’t just a perk; it’s a strategic investment that lies at the heart of your organisation. By prioritising employee well-being, companies foster a culture of resilience, productivity, and satisfaction. But let’s delve deeper… For organisations, these programs translate into tangible benefits such as; 👉🏼 Reduced absenteeism 👉🏼 Enhanced employee retention 👉🏼 Boosted staff morale Moreover, they serve as a proactive measure against escalating healthcare costs, ultimately boosting the bottom line. But the advantages extend far beyond the balance sheet. For employees, a comprehensive wellness program signifies a commitment to their holistic growth and fulfilment. It’s about providing resources and support to navigate the demands of work and life, creating a sense of belonging and purpose. From stress management workshops to fitness challenges and mental health resources, these initiatives actually EMPOWER individuals to thrive, both personally and professionally ✅ However, I will say this, the key certainly lies in strategic design and implementation. What I mean by that is a cookie-cutter approach just won’t cut it!
