Nur gesund und proteinreich geht für dich nicht? Du willst auch unglaublich lecker? 😋 Et voila - dann probiere doch mal diese Hanf Protein Riegel ⤵️ Mix 1️⃣ Zuerst mixt du 2 Essl Chia Samen, 15 Datteln, 3 Essl Kokosöl und 2 Essl Kakaopulver mit etwas Vanille zu einer glatten Masse. Mix 2️⃣ Dann mix du separat 160g Kürbiskerne, 100g Kokosraspeln, 80g Hanfsamen und 50g Hanf Proteinpulver. Danach vermengst du Mix 1 und Mix 2 und rührst noch 3 Esslöffel Haferflocken unter. Das ganze in eine flache Form streichen und in Den Kühlschrank stellen. There’s a difference between feeling tired every once in a while and feeling fatigued all the time. If you’re consistently waking up feeling tired, not sleeping well at night, experiencing poor recovery after workouts, and feeling like you need to nap everyday to keep up with yourself, you may unknowingly be experiencing a nutrient deficiency. Of course, there are other factors that can contribute to fatigue, including not consuming enough energy to meet your energy needs. However, getting regular blood work done is never a bad idea! The most common nutrient deficiencies that contribute to fatigue include: Vitamin B12 Iron Vitamin D Magnesium Before supplementing with any vitamin or mineral, I typically recommend lab work. Some supplements can be toxic when consumed in excess, such as iron. Work with a Registered Dietitian or healthcare provider to find a protocol that works best for you! In some cases, you might not even need a supplement. How are you fuelling for your afternoon training 🍌🥐🍯🥪🥙🍝🍇🥞🥜🧃🥑 Because GUESS WHAT, the way you are fuelling can be a key contributor to how you perform throughout your session and also supportive in your recovery process. It is not just the meal or snack we have right before training, however a combination of HOW WELL WE HAVE FUELLED THAT DAY TOO. Having supportive, energising and nourishing fuel throughout the day allows your body and brain to be prepared for training later in the day and it requires a balance of the right type of nutrients in order to have enough energy, whilst also limiting the likelihood of gut-upset. Throughout my content, you’ll get an insight into what goes on my plate, see my training and endurance event competitions. This morning, I’ve started my weekend with a Sweat class at @melville_fitstop 💪🏼 followed by my post-workout meal which, in my books, is not only delicious but is also packed with nutrients to refill my needs: 2 boiled eggs, a thick slice of homemade sourdough, sneaky smear of @vegemite, drizzle of olive oil and generous serving of avocado plus 750ml of water with squeezed lemon. No supplements this morning, as I had time for a nutritious meal. 🥚 eggs - rich in protein and essential amino acid, eggs are perfect to support muscle protein synthesis (the build and repair of muscle tissue) 🍞 sourdough - I’ve been baking sourdough for a couple of years now thanks to @thurst_on_adventure made on a wholemeal dough, and nothing but flour, starter, salt and water. With its complex carbohydrates and fibre, sourdough provides a slow release of energy to keep me going throughout the morning. 🥑 avocado - creamy, dreamy and oh-so-nutritious! INJURY NUTRITION 🚨 Coming off the back of a long season there’s a high chance you’re carrying a knock or some type of injury. And that’s not to mention the players rehabbing long term injuries 🤕 This is a complex area of nutrition not always approached correctly - yeah weight management is a focus but it is not an opportunity in most cases for us to aim for reducing weight. To do this we would have to deliberately under fuel which affects the healing and rehab process 🤷🏾‍♂️ I’d say the goals for your nutrition around this area are to: - provide your body with the correct nutrients to help recovery 💪🏾 - make sure eating enough to allow healing process to take place. In a lot or longer term injury cases the drop off in calories required between playing and rehabbing an injury is small if there is a difference at all because the healing process requires a lot of energy too 🤝🏾 - ENJOY your food! Being injured is bad enough don’t add any more stress onto your plate 😉. Post-Partum Performance 👶 I never imagined I’d be offering baby feeds as part of my service, but I’m never one to turn down the opportunity to go above and beyond 😂🥛 Me and Katy have been working together for around 6 years in total now and, as you might have guessed, she has been nailing her training post-partum too 🦸‍♀️ One thing that really stood out during Katy’s pregnancy was the fact that as a family they prioritised both parents-to-be health and fitness through the entire process 🏋️‍♂️ It wasn’t about a PB on the barbell, or a certain body composition…it became very much about supporting the health, wellbeing and happiness of the family unit. And that’s REALLY f*cking cool if you ask me. We spoke about how important training was as a cornerstone habit of self care & as Katy went through pregnancy, worked with the fantastic @jesswestall out of @rgphysiotherapy Not only did Jess help Katy prepare and recover from giving birth…but opened a dialogue between coach & physio to work as a unit in delivering what was needed, when it was needed and making adjustments based of feedback from each one of us. I’ll never understate the value of collaborative working with other professionals 🙌 I feel incredibly privileged to have been a part of this team process & even more so to be trusted to wrangle the little man when he’s watching his mum train too. I have no doubt Katy has got plenty of PBs in the tank as we move forward into the next phase of training, but I don’t want to take the light off the fact that she’s just absolutely nailed this life PB & I’m so bloody proud of her 👏 Let’s all show this super-mum some love in the comments 👇

Time and time again I have conversations with people who say some questionable things and thats why I do what i do. I try to educate and dispel the myths for those who follow me on the actual evidence based nutrition facts. Do I, and will I get things wrong? Sure. Nutrition is often viewed as a tool for weight loss, but the benefits of a healthy eating pattern extend well beyond the bathroom scales.
