I am sharing my now favorite spring drink sorrel Soda. Most of life it has been just the tasty sorrel drink for Christmas. Where you blend or soak the fruit skin(petals). But now since the beginning of spring I've been obsessed with soda like gingerale and the Sorrel soda. Even tried this recipe and declared it's my favorite sorrel Soda I have ever tasted so far for spring. Sorrel Soda recipe Ingredients For the Sorrel (hibiscus) syrup: ½ cup dried dried (hibiscus) flowers 1 ½ cups boiling water ¼ to ⅓ cup honey or organic cane sugar to your sweet tooth taste For each spritzer: 2 to 4 tablespoons hibiscus syrup see note About 6 ounces sparkling water I usually use lime flavored Ice to fill the glass Instructions Make the syrup: Pour boiling water over the Sorrel/ hibiscus flowers and let steep 20 minutes or up to an hour. Strain, pushing on the plumped flowers to extract maximum juice. Stir the honey into the liquid and reheat just enough to dissolve the honey completely. If you want to use the syrup right away, pour it into a metal container and place in an ice bath, stirring until the syrup is nice and cold. Make a spritzer: Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour 2 (or more) tablespoons of syrup over the ice. Fill the glass to the top with sparkling water. The wait for St. Peter’s was three hours long 😳 today, but we met the nicest people standing in front of and behind us in line. Good conversations definitely helped pass the time. Of course, the views of the basilica weren’t too shabby either.
Scenes from yesterday’s #wanderandroam in Rome. As we made our way to the Scala Sancta (Holy Stairs) and St. John Lateran, we dropped in at several beautiful churches, passed by the Forum and Colosseum and took in the streets scenes that make Rome so unique. Unlike 2001 when we had toddlers in tow, this time we climbed the Holy Stairs, which can only be done on your knees. They lead to the Church of Saint Lawrence in Palatio ad Sancta Sanctorum, which we missed last time around. We finished off our sight seeing for the day at St. John Lateran.

📦 We’re moving! 📦 but not in the way many of you may think… I moved to this apartment shortly after getting married. I left my family home yearning for the new great adventure the Lord was leading me on just to then have to move right back almost 6 years later. Seeing the empty kitchen shelves, having to downsize me & Mabel’s things (my husband doesn’t own much personal items as us gals do haha!), all my old antique boxes carrying precious thrifted pieces I hoped to have in a future home all has truly broken my heart in ways I never felt before. It has been a very very rough season in life & I truly hope the Lord brings me to a place where I am able to share more details but as of right now, my whole world is shifting. Instead of taking it with discouragement and discontent, I’m reminding myself of the verse, “fear not therefore - ye are of more value than many sparrows.” Luke 12:7 and the hymn, “Why should I feel discouraged? And why should the shadows come? But why should my heart feel lonely? And long for heaven home When Jesus is my portion A constant friend is He For His eye is on the sparrow I know He watches me.” A reminder to myself & others that when our lives are shaken and taken off the path we’ve thought we created perfectly for ourselves, the Lord is gently guiding us and leading us down the straight & narrow road to Him 🤍

Холли Голайтли очень не простой персонаж, в начале она предстает перед нами таким несмышлёным и наглым человеком, девушка с мальчишескими замашками и не смотря на то, что она порхает от одного ухажёра к другому, она не напоминает нам бабочку, скорее стрекозу, которая замирает над водой и выжидает своего момента. Страница за страницей и мы видим другую сторону этой девушки, которая всю свою жизнь бежит и периодически делает ошибки. Она бежит от нищенской жизни, от мужа который взял её в жены в четырнадцать лет, она бежит от реальности которая ей совсем не нравится, бежит от тех людей которым она не нужна. Конечно же она делает ошибки, ее бег начался в тринадцать лет, у неё нет опыта и нужного багажа знаний, нет того кто бы остановил её и помог по настоящему, как тот кому она действительно не безразлична. Мне кажется, что её любовь к Тиффани и модным журналам это попытка убежать в эфемерный мир, где всё красиво и безупречно (то что сейчас делает огромное количество людей, которые надолго пропадают в соц сетях, где нам постоянно показывают идеальную жизнь), она хочет забыть о реальности и побыть там где ей спокойно. Эта героиня нам нравится, но в то же время во многих вещах мы с ней не соглашаемся. Капоте пишет свою героиню со своей матери, которая не уделяла ему внимания, а оставляла его на других и была постоянно занята своими делами и личной жизнью, но потом покончила с жизнью, в книге же писатель даёт шанс своей героине и оставляет финал открытым. Мы надеемся что Холли Галайтли обрела настоящий дом, где наконец-то может дать имя своему коту.

• TILL THERE WAS YOU Review • Lexi and Jake spend one magical weekend together and fall head over heels for one another. Then he disappears, only to reappear as the world’s newest pop star sensation. Lexi accepts their fate and throws herself into culinary school, then lands a job at one of New Yorks hottest restaurants, only to have Jake walk back into her life and throw it all off course. Well dang. I was certain this was going to be a five star read for me. But it didn’t pan out that way. The first 70-ish % was very strong. It was swoony and sweet. It touched on some really great emotions, and life stuff. The concept was so cute, and really relevant to today’s entertainment scene a la Travis and Taylor 😝. But Lexi became insufferable to me. I got tired of hearing her self doubt, and whining about how she wasn’t from Jake’s world and he’d be better off with someone who was. It became stressy depressy and eye rolly. And in the interest of not leaving spoilers, the ending was TOO MUCH. Too much cheese, too many unrealistic happenstances on the heels of a very believable plot otherwise. I can see how some would get googly eyed over this one from start to finish but it wasn’t for me.
