Comme un air de vacances !!! WARNING. Do not eat these unless you are close to pic 2 and have plenty of pic 3. These are promoted as a healthy food, they have a 5 star health rating. They contain 7g of protein per bar. They are low in sugar and carbs and apparently contain NO ARTIFICIAL colours, flavours or sweeteners. In reality they are the "food" from hell. I ate 1 recently whilst driving. Less than an hour later I was in severe trouble. Luckily I found a Bunnings as they have public toilets. The pain was indescribable and I could have been in a lot more trouble and highly embarrassed 😳. When I got back to my car I read the back of the box and in small writing found " Excess consumption of this food may have a laxative effect ". So what does excess mean? I would imagine it means more than the recommended serve. The recommended serve is 1 bar which is exactly what I ate! Don't bother contacting Carman's if you have an issue as contrary to what they promote they actually don't care. Creamy pasta with a crusted tofu cutlet. Yummy! I’m a sucker for pasta. I’m also a sucker for sun dried tomatoes. This was an easy dinner to put together. I breaded the tofu and baked it. While that was in the oven I sautéed my tomatoes and cooked my pasta. When the pasta was ready I added it to my tomatoes, grape tomatoes, and garlic then added in some more seasonings, heavy cream (vegan), and vegan chicken broth to make a sauce. The tofu is really crispy and has so much flavor. The pasta is really good too. Low-Sodium Diet, Heart Disease, Stroke, & Mortality A McMaster University study looked at the sodium intake of over 130,000 people worldwide and its relationship to stroke, heart disease, and mortality. Surprisingly, it showed that irrespective of whether individuals had high blood pressure, consuming a low-sodium diet was linked with a GREATER risk for heart attacks, stroke, and premature death. How low is low? Researchers in this study classified low sodium intake as consuming less than 3 grams per day, the Canadian guideline for a low-sodium diet. In the United States, the guidelines are that a person on a low-sodium diet should take in no more than 2.3 grams of sodium daily. As you can see, the recommendations are more stringent in the United States. Interestingly, the McMaster study showed that a low-sodium diet DOES reduce blood pressure. Yet despite the drop in blood pressure, adopting a low-sodium diet was still linked with higher rates of heart disease, stroke, and mortality in this study.
