How I decide which books to add to my TBR 👇🏼 • P.s. this stack is all 5⭐️ books I’ve read during the month of April 💓✨🫶🏻 • What do y’all usually do to pick out books you’ll want to read? Usually, this is what I do : • 🛍️ if I’m just browsing a bookstore without any books in mind, I’ll use Goodreads to get a general feel of the reviews/ratings of the story. So if a cover looks interesting, or I see a new book from an author I’ve read, or I’ve seen it on socials, I’ll look it up on the GR app to see what the ratings are. Usually anything above a 3.98⭐️ rating is a green-light. • 👩🏻💻 If I’m scrolling through bookstagram, and a book catches my eye, I’ll read the bookstagrammers review on it. If it’s a good review, I’ll keep it in mind, but I’ll usually wait to see if others say good things about it, too. 💭 The exception to this is if I’ve found a bookstagrammer that has similar opinions on other books I’ve read, then I’ll take their recs more seriously because I know we have the same tastes 🤪 • 💬 Another way I like to decide on books is by chatting with friends, family, and/or bookstagrammers because this way I can ask about the tropes and topics more in-depth about a book I’ve been considering. Wasn’t expecting the smut in this one but was hit with it only a couple chapters in 😅 I was a little worried about how I’d feel about Hook’s character development because he was giving me Theseus vibes (Scarlet St. Clair, iykyk). I ended up liking him though, and his relationship build out with Wendy. I also was not expecting the story to wrap up in this book as I didn’t realize the rest of the series followed different characters/fairytales. Let’s see how the other books play out!
