It was a fun morning at the EAGLE OPS Welcome Home 5k! Valkyrie did her second 5k with Daddy pushing her. We had a great time seeing our friends in Running Strong and supporting our service men and woman. Thankful that my husband was home to run this. Yesterday., thousands of runners came together to run the 50th NYC marathon. Dirk Whitebreast @dw641 - cofounder of the @redearthrunco, his amazing wife Lannessee and @americanindiancancer collaborated on hosting the first ever Sacred Breath Virtual Run. Through planning & organizing this upcoming run (Nov 14-20, 2021) our conversations led us to Dirk running with the AICAF eagle staff in honor of his aunty during the NYC marathon, which is on the ancestral lands of the Lenape people. Dirk shared some powerful words & thoughts after he completed the marathon, why he carried the eagle staff, the healing it brought both physical & spiritual, and the energy every piece of the eagle staff brought to every step he completed through the finish line. Iβm in tears as I write this because there is so much more to share from yesterday. To cheer & support Dirk and others during the run is exhilarating. From the initial thoughts & conversations of the Sacred Breath Run, to bringing the eagle staff to NYC, to the finish line, the photos, & dinner afterwards. Every word & emotion shared was sacred.
