Running isn’t always fun. ❌🙅♀️ This blister is really frustrating. I cannot tell you how painful it is and how annoying it is to have to constantly deal with feet that are not happy with anything. 😭 I have spent so much time and money on shoes, inserts, and socks to be in this predicament. The longest stretch of non-issues I’ve had was wearing the Hoka Rincon 2 with my custom orthotics. Ever since they came out with Rincon 3, I have been on the hunt for a new shoe. I have tried probably 10 different shoes and here we are dealing with a massive blister that idk even know how to get it to go away. Anyone got any bottom of foot blister tips? I stayed off of it for a few days. Ran 11 yesterday and limped through 4 miles today. I’ve been epsom salt soaking and using moleskin. I just bought some blister bandages tonight. Sunday Funday Runday ☀️ This weather! Soaking it up while it lasts. Had to take the past few days off because I have a knarly blister on the bottom of my foot that is giving me lots of grief. I think the blister topped out around 60 min but kept going to get that long run in. Will do an epsom salt soak it and try to stay off of it the rest of the day. There’s a very special kind of magic that can only be found when we run together ❤️✨👟✨❤️ It’s a magic that gives us all superpowers. It filled the streets of Boston on Sunday morning when thousands of people met up for shakeout runs (and coffee - because there’s magic in that, too 😅) and then on Monday it was amplified a zillion times over as the runners raced and faced the challenges of the Boston hills, wind and rain and spectators cheered their hearts out for hours in those same conditions. I couldn’t take the smile off my face and the energy carried me through my toughest patches and across that finish line feeling fortified, not depleted. I even have it with me now, days after the race. It stays with you and inspires you to keep going, to pay it forward ❤️ I feel the magic of running together whether I’m running with one friend, a group or a bunch of strangers in a race, and even on a day when I run solo and wave hello or nod to other runners out there. We have the power to lift each other up on the run in big ways and small. I think that’s how we move forward as a community and as individuals — TOGETHER. Il peut signifier tellement de choses mais à la fois il revient toujours sur des racines qui définissent une destination que l’on est toutes et tous en train de poursuivre. Une sorte d’avancement vers quelque chose. Aussi incertain que lointain, le chemin sur lequel on se trouve nous recentre à chaque fois sur le moment présent et représente l’endroit où l’on se trouve actuellement, avec les yeux orientés vers un point, plus loin… “Le chemin d’une longue journée” est le nom de la série qui accompagnera l’avancement, les leçons et le partage que j’ai envie de vivre avec vous vers ce 100km ultra trail début Juin. Forcément cette distance sera un challenge mentale et physique que je n’ai pas encore surmonter mais il signifie également l’aboutissement du début de ce nouveau chapitre. Last year was the first official year we opened up @fatpursuit to runners and skiers for both distances. Prior to that, on our old route, we had a gunniea pig year where some trusted individuals came out to play. Both of the distances were completed by skiers and runners that year. Last year we had a few brave runners give the 200k a shot but came up short. We had 2 finish the 60k. And they put down some solid times! I just need to work towards it now. :) This is a mindset that I’m holding. One that’s less reflecting back and surpassing my old self; but more forward-looking and running towards a better version of a new self. It may sound the same, but they are two different lenses. If you asked me few years ago would I be running, my answer would be a definite NO. Little did I know that I would want to build my fitness endurance; which led to running in 2021, led to the amazing people at @yolopacers , with @lilysimlh coaching me through @runfiit.my plan 2 months ago and then somehow landed my very first 10k at KLSCM thanks to @myboostjuice ! From someone who hated running and stopped at 500m, I totally enjoyed my 10k yesterday. It’s my third 10k in my entire life(all three this year)🤣 and first ever that I ran continuously. Yes, that tells you how short a distance I’ve been running 🙈 I’ve my goal set for the next KLSCM, and now I can start slotting 10k runs in my routine! The best part is this - fuelled by 80% excitement, 20% willpower. It took a community to inspire me forward in this running journey, and I’m so thankful for each and everyone. What are shadows you have run from? ~ Carrying the weight of being his sister's protector, the failure to keep her from harm weighs on Zoran. Without a refuge for his own fears and anger, Zoran has only ever known how to run, away from harm, but never toward shelter. He's trapped in an endless race. ~ I'm not quite like Zoran in this sense. Rather than run from the things that hurt me, I tend to freeze. I get stuck in a moment, the same feeling of guilt and fear and pain, trapped, unable to move or speak. But we're the same in the way that both tend to avoid help offered. Zoran has reasons not to trust, we all have reasons, be them right or not. We all fear vulnerability, but in doing so, we fail to recognize the signs of safety. We look for red flags without looking for white. ~ If we run for too long, if we hide and never come back out, we will fall and waste away as the things pursuing or building up in us, finally consume us. Trust isn't an easy thing, with people, no matter how many white flags there are, they may still break it. We're human, sometimes we say too much, sometimes we forget, sometimes we fail to understand. But that doesn't mean we aren't meant to be each other's refuge. ~ Thankfully, there's always someone who will never break our trust. Пробежала второй марафон за 3:37, на 8 мин быстрее предыдущего. Так я отметила свой 31-й день рождения и год, как я относительно регулярно занимаюсь бегом. Поэтому первый тридцать один километр пробежала как планировала, а для остальных надо тренироваться больше😅 Потому что никогда не знаешь, какая горка заставит снизить темп. Их же оказалось несколько. Так и в жизни. Забавно, что ещё в прошлом сентябре моей максимальной дистанцией были 13 км и про никакой марафон и темп я ещё не думала. Часто мы не сразу понимаем, на что способны, и уже совсем скоро. Спасибо тренеру @dovydko_club за подготовку и приятную встречу на финише.
