It's getting cooler and times are getting faster as the humidity is dropping, too. Nothing like a little stats to boost the mood and a good stretch to finish a session and prepping for the next one. Every run my friend @melrobbins comes with me. She's a good pal reminding me, dragging me out of the quagmire, cheering me on, kicking my arse, slowing my brain to ponder important parts of my life. Hoy dejo el gym. Y en noticias que seguramente les importan 3 hectáreas de verdolaga les platico… Mi mejor tiempo de maratón fue de 3:38 y pasaba 71 kgs y me queda claro que con los 85 kgs que peso hoy en día, no me será posible llegar a esa marca y mejorarla, además de sentirme muy pesado y duro, por lo cual dejaré de ir al gimnasio para deshacerme de casi toda mi masa muscular, se que vendrán opiniones con respecto a que no es lo correcto, pero recuerdo muy bien que con esos 71 kgs podía sacar mis entrenos a 3:55 sin problema. Siempre he dicho que no me gusta tener cuerpo de corredor o sea de perro parado, pero ni pex, no se puede mamar y dar de topes al mismo tiempo, además en el gym con mis mancuernas rosas de 5 y 10 lbs, terminaba exahusto y siempre menos en más y ese descanso a mi cuerpo le sumara en mis entrenos de atletismo, será difícil dejar de ver memes de gym y ser un estorbo en las máquinas para los mamados, pero saldré adelante 🥹!! Este experimento terminará el 31 de agosto y los tiempos marcarán si seguimos así o regresamos, por su atención gracias. Después de esta experiencia quiero contarles un poco sobre esta carrera de 32 km, vuelta a la Isla de San Andres, siendo la primera vez que corro más de 21 km en carrera. 🏃‍♂️💪 #RetoSuperado #RunningLife Empece la carrera según lo planeado con un ritmo promedio de 4:30 a 4:20 durante los primeros 22 km se mantuvo el ritmo y acompañdo de dos grandes atletas rotando poco a poco la punta, en el km 23 sentí la fatiga y la falta de experiencia en carreras largas decidiendo tomar un gel, algo que no es usual en mis entrenamientos de fondo, en ese momento baje el ritmo y sentí la fatiga de esta prueba. 🥵💦 #MomentoDuro Después de eso en el km 25 me dio un vaso en el estómago, generado por el consumo del Gel y de allí en adelante baje el ritmo tanto que en alguno tramos camine alcanzando un ritmo de 8 minutos por kilómetro, en mi cerebro lo único que pensaba era en terminar no rendirme a pesar del dolor y que no se me quitaba... los últimos cuatro kilómetros veía como me pasaban las personas mientras que escuchaba los gritos alentadoras pero el dolor persistia, así que termine la prueba con un tiempo de 2:41:52 fue duro pero me dejo una gran enseñanza. 💪😭 #NoPainNoGain #SuperacionPersonal No soy corredor de fondo. Easy run today on my plan and I’m trying hard to get back to normality! No makeup cover up today but the face is healing ok so that’s something. I enjoyed my run today, there was actual sunshine 🌞 👀 which helped distract me from my sinus congestion, who needs to breathe through their nose anyway? 🤧😬 Then the plan said strength work so I did that too. Legs & core weight work and a pilates glute burnout using a band. I really feel like all this is helping my running which motivates me to carry on with it. Also with it being right there on my @runna_coach plan I don’t even have to think about what to do. Training in the heat is no joke! A couple of years ago when we moved to Washington DC I experienced running in the hottest, most humid conditions I have ever known. I’ve lived in warm climates before, but nothing like DC, and I quickly found that I needed to plan ahead take the heat very seriously. Here are a few tips to help with running in hot weather. If you’d like more details, head over to my blog. 🔆Time your run: Plan to run at the coolest time of the day. 🔆Dress for the weather: Wear light coloured, breathable fabrics, and avoid long sleeves and pants. 🔆Sunscreen: Find a waterproof sunscreen that will stay on even when you sweat. 🔆Slow down! I usually train by mileage/distance, but I change that to time/heart rate in the summer months. 🔆Pre-hydrate: Drink 10–15 oz. of water and electolyytes 10 to 15 minutes before running. 🔆Plan your hydration/nutrition. On hot or humid days, you’ll need to drink water every 20–30 minutes so don’t get caught out. 🔆Avoid dehydration: Educate yourself so you know the signs to look out for and ff you don't feel well, get home or call for help. Running in the heat is hard, and with the first hot days in Washington DC upon us, I know my training will have to change. Przed, w trakcie i po... Emocje opadły... Długo biłam się z myślami czy biec czy nie. Biorąc pod uwagę zoperowane niecały rok temu kolano, słabe i krótkie przygotowanie, może i mogłam odpuścić. Ale nie żałuję. Rewelacji i pudła nie ma, na pewno poniżej poziomu, który mogłabym osiągnąć. Mimo wszystko jestem zadowolona. Dyszka przebiegnięta z czasem 00:54:16. Nie najgorzej chyba, biorąc powyższe pod uwagę. Praktycznie całość jednym tempem. Nie był to mój wymarzony finał, ale i tak jestem zadowolona (chyba😉). Abym mogła być usatysfakcjonowana, musiałabym zrobić progres o 10 min. Pewnie się da 😜 Tak czy siak niedziela udana 🔥 Open: 345 Na 169 kobiet: 68 W kat T40 na 69: 20. Przeglądając listę, wyniki współzawodników, mając na uwadze ich treningi i częstotliwość biegania a biorąc pod uwagę ostatni mój rok, to naprawdę nie jest źle. Bardzo żałuję, że nie korzystałam wcześniej z potencjału jaki posiadam. Nie warto odkładać na później i na później. Bardzo żałuję, że nie mogłam posadzić taty na trybunach i pokazać mu jak wygląda to co lubię i cieszyć się razem. Mama też mogłaby zobaczyć. Nigdy nie rozumieli tych moich sportów, ale cieszyli się jak coś mnie uszczęśliwiało i odnosiłam sukcesy. . Bardzo dziękuję mojemu domowemu teamowi za wsparcie, towarzyszenie, kibicowanie, bycie blisko ♥️ . Ps. Czy kolano boli? Tak boli, generalnie 24/h. Tak, czasem nawet w nocy. Dlaczego więc biegam itd., bo bardziej boli jak nic nie robię, no więc robię swoje. Transform your running with these 4 things It’s not too early to start making changes/incorporating these tips for Fall races!! I am already filling my roster with clients who want to fuel and train for summer training & Fall races! 1️⃣ Build your aerobic base through easy effort running (65-79% of your max HR). I am a big supporter of 80/20 running- 80% of runs at easy effort, 20% of runs at harder effort. The perks of easy effort running are pretty huge: improves your body’s ability to make and deliver more oxygen to your muscles, can keep you injury free, improves endurance and can decrease burnout (realllyyyy important to build a base before adding speed work or building to high mileage) 2️⃣ Build a consistent strength training routine. I recommend to hit your full body at least 2x/week along with mobility and plyometrics. Lifting heavy is what we want to do as runners! Choose a weight where you can do 8-12 reps and do 3 sets 3️⃣ Dial in your daily nutrition. Learn how to fuel your body well and start feeling confident with fueling to support your daily life, performance and goals 4️⃣ Fuel before, during and after your workouts. Start getting into this habit now and slowly build this up over time. That way you can support a strong training cycle (bc it takes FUEL to train strong) plus by race day you’ll already have a solid routine down that you can just repeat once more on the big day! Heute gab es den verschobenen longrun. 🏃‍♀️☝️ Den Puls wollte ich so gering wie möglich halten, was auf der ersten Hälfte noch gut gelang. Ich musste aber wirklich richtig langsam laufen. Zunächst störte mich das nicht. Ich genoss die Natur total. Schaut selbst. 🌱🫶🥰 Im übrigen ist das auch die Strecke des Draisinenlauf Halbmarathons. Überall sind schon die diesjährigen Plakate angebracht. ☺️ Für meinen heutigen Lauf bin ich aber noch weiter gelaufen. 😉 Bis zum Wendepunkt, nach 16 km, war das Wetter ziemlich gut. Auf dem Rückweg nieselte es aber immer mal wieder, was mich nicht störte. Vielmehr wurde es nervig mit dem extrem langsamen Tempo, das ich schon gehend erreicht hätte. 😒🙄 Die Steigung, wie auf der Skala zu sehen, merkt man so gar nicht aber wenn man nach Puls läuft, ist das tatsächlich ausschlaggebend. Nach 32 km war ich endlich wieder am Ziel angekommen. Stunner of an evening run@🌅🏃🏽 Seemed to have dodged a bullet with this chest infection - third one of the year and now I know that my lungs are permanently scarred by them I get antibiotics super quick. Not ideal but making the best of it! Only lost 3 days of training and feeling pretty fab. Sunset like this certainly helps lift the mood as well 🥰
