Edinburgh bound with my little stowaway ๐ค 24(+4) weeks of growing our littlest button. I know I have been very quiet on here and about this pregnancy and that is for a multitude of reasons, being pregnant with a toddler wow no one prepares you (I am very grateful that Odin is such a superstar -most of the time). Working full time and having a hubby works offshore has just proven I have little time. On top of all of that, this time round for obvious reasons I have been so much protective of buba, the muma bear that Odin created has been in full swing. My health and the boys have been my full focus, I have also been enjoying this pregnancy as much as I can, even though it has been very tough, we know this is our last pregnancy and last baby so I have found the things I took for granted first time round I am really appreciating this time. I want to thank everyone for the messages, well wishes and questions, both baby and I are healthy and being monitored VERY closely, forever in awe of the incredible team of NHS consultants and midwifeโs looking after us. As we get closer to when Odin was delivered I am of course a bit more anxious but equally feel so safe and supported. Let me take you through the day my second child was born - A moment that I will cherish for life. My anxiety began when my gynaecologist told me that it would be c section due to CPD- cephalopelvic dispropotion. He advised me to get hospitalised at 9am and the procedure would commence at 1pm. I was advised 6 hours of fasting before the procedure so I woke up at 6, made breakfast & had it alone seating in the balcony, experiencing my babyโs movements. At 7:30 I prepared tiffin for my first born and my husband dressed him up for school. We dropped him to the school van as usual At 8:15 we left for the hospital. As the NST started, my blood pressure dropped suddenly and I started sweating . Doctor advised to operate immediately so I got shifted to the OT at 11am . Exactly at 11.32am, I heard the first cry of my second baby. I was conscious and was able to do skin to skin and breastfeeding almost immediately. Baby update. Iโm 20 weeks today. We had the anatomy scan today, and checked my cervix again. My cervix is still measuring normal, and baby girlโs anatomy looks perfect. No birth defects ๐๐. The baby almost always has her hands in her face, but they were still able to get some good photos. I always think the one looking straight at her face without eyes looks a little creepy, but it was still too cute to not add. I started having Braxton Hicks last week, but I am grateful to know that they arenโt effecting my cervix. I go back in 2 weeks to check my cervix one last time. Based off of my previous visits it should be normal. It now feels perfectly meant to be, uniquely fitting for our baby whose gender remains a surprise, yet the name suits beautifully either way.
