🩷36 weeks!🩷 There were times I didn’t think my sanity would make it this far! And this date has felt so far away at times. I’ve done my best to slow down and enjoy the experience since I’m never doing it again, but it’s something that’s tough to continue to remind yourself of when you’re so cumbersome and uncomfortable. That being said, I’m really proud of myself for getting to this point. It’s all been worth it to share with Oscar. Who has shown me day in day out what a kind, thoughtful, understanding and gorgeous human being he is. He has exercised more emotional intelligence throughout this process than most adults I know. As I’ve got bigger and been able to do less he has been so helpful, he’s snuggled in bed with me and brought his toys with him for us to play with, and he has never once complained about me being semi out of action. He’s just excited to be a big brother and excited to meet his sister. He often tells me “when you grow a baby you need lots of rest”. He’s 4. Basically the best human being on the planet. Onward! 🏆🩵

The results are in… 💜 have a bath - so much easier once the baby has been put down for the night! Uninterrupted, relaxing and managed to stay in there until the bubbles had disappeared and it was feeezing cold 😂 💜 coffee date - my birthday breakfast (also with our baby), the caramel iced latte from @grind is just 🤌🏼🤌🏼 although my baby is at the awkward stage of not being able to sit up in a high chair and wanting to be in his buggy for 15 minutes maximum.. so separately eating our breakfast was the reality 😅 💜 date night - at home whilst baby slept was our date night this month! We have had quite a few celebrations this month so kept our date night low-key which was perfect for me as I could enjoy make up free and in my PJs 😂 💜 go for an hours walk / 10,000 steps - this was a hard one as the weather in April was horrific! Never known my birthday month to have such miserable weather! But I got out and did it! I absolutely LOVE going out for long walks when the sun is shining, podcast on in my own world and feel like my baby’s mood is so much better for it too! 💜 do something solo - every monday night I have an hours pilates class which I couldn’t recommend enough! I always come out with a clear mind ready for the week ahead! How well did you do this month?

What you don’t want is to fumbling around in the dark trying to find spare pjs… switching all the lights on… fully waking your child (and the whole house) as you try and sort out the situation. ✔️ If you have everything ready and to hand, your child knows what the plan is if it happens you’ll be able to tackle the situation a lot easier and quicker. 🙋♀️ When I went through this with my eldest daughter I always liked to give her a quick wipe down with baby wipes or a wet cloth before putting on a fresh pair of pjs. R.I.P Breastfeeding 🤱🏽 It sounds a bit strange, but this is the way I feel. Breastfeeding was a journey. But it was time to move on. Breastfeeding it is a women’s and mum’s choice. Also, not everyone might be able to produce enough milk to purely breastfeed a baby. We all know that breastmilk it is the best for babies, and it is recommended to breastfeed in the first year. But nobody says how difficult and sometimes painful can be. My water broken at 36 weeks, so when I delivered baby at 37 weeks, I didn’t have any colostrum harvested at home. At the first hour in recovery, midwife would come and try to help me collect colostrum. Luckily I was producing, and lucky me I had enough to keep going. Do you pick wildflowers? It's one of our favourite things to do. Since being home in Australia I've noticed how different our flora is compared to America. 🌻 We were over there for a year and after the snow had melted, the woods came alive. It was crazy to see. So many wildflowers to pick just walking down the road or in the woods. 🌱🌿 We visited a state forest and in the ditches all along the road were just thousands of wildflowers to pick and how beautiful are they!? 🌼 It's such a simple way of getting outside and enjoying fresh air and it's an activity that can be done anywhere! It's so important to get out in nature, learning about nature, the sensory experience, the exploration. It's so beneficial. And it's free! I know a lot of people will look at me and say.... "You have a partner, so it's easy for you, you can go to the gym, ect ect" And yes, of course, he does his bit as a parent and a partner. But we are a working family with 5 children. He works 40 hours a week, add travel on, and he's out the house around 45-50 hours. He is front-line staff in the NHS, believe me when I say he is tired. So for up to 50 hours a week, I am a solo parent. I work from home whilst my partner is at work, my eldest is in college, my second is in school, my third i home educate, my fourth is home, and my fifth is home. My work consists of client checkins, communication, content creation, booking people in - I have to do this whilst entertaining and educating the children, preparing food, housework, food shopping, organising life, walking the dog, feeding the children, breastfeeding the baby, and we currently have 9 animals 😅 On the days my partner is home, I can only leave the baby for 5 hours, so that's 5 hours I have to travel to work, massage, train, and create content. In that 5 hours, my clients come first. I will always prioritise helping someone over my own training. Because I know I can train at home. However, I don't have a fancy gym, I have a small overcrowded house and a few kettlebells. Training at home doesn't align with my goals, BUT it is still better than nothing at all. So when I say it is about mindset. I truly believe that. I understand how hard it is fitting things in. Some days nothing goes to plan for me, but even if I only get 5 minutes to do a quick KB circuit then that is what I will do..even if that's right before I go to bed. Trust me, it's not easy, but even if it is just 5 minutes of exercise, that's 5 minutes I spent on myself, and that's important. #mystory #mumof5 #mumclub #lifestyle #blog post #mumblog #fitness

It had a modern yet relaxed feel and I found it very family family friendly! Our children were warmly welcomed and entertained with figures of dinosaurs to make and the best kids activity sheets I’ve seen! Something as parents that is always appreciated, and I even got to enjoy two cups of tea while they were all busy. . The kids loved watching their pizzas being made from scratch and cooked in the pizza oven in the corner of the restaurant. And were even given their own dough balls to make creations of their own! . Did you know your kids (under 12) can eat free every Monday with every adult meal purchased? An amazing deal for families!
