Did a tempo run with the stroller. I am dead (: that was the fastest I’ve ran in a very long time. My goal was to hold it for 25 min and I did. I read that the first time your body “gives up” during pregnancy is the last thing you should incorporate back in post partum. Not lying. My speed went very quickly and it’s been so hard to get back. I’ve enjoyed the process pushing the cutest kid around. You guys I just finished 2:30 long run! Great way to finish the year. This year has been hard. Having a baby was the easy part having to raise her and adjust to a new role, sleeplessness, and a new body was the hard part. So I’m walking the baby and my dog this morning… And on my route that I take a few times a week there’s this part where I have to walk in front of one house without a sidewalk on one of the busiest streets in town. Happy Monday! I wanted to show everyone some vacay pics from the lighthouse in Cape May! Mom decided to take my stroller because it was very hot and sunny and she didn’t want me uncomfortable. Well that only lasted maybe 6 minutes because as you know I love to chew my stroller 😵💫🤪🙈so Mom put it back in the car and carried me when I got too hot to walk 🥵 I am also posting this to stand with @total_oakley and my other friends who are standing up to bullies who make nasty comments about pups in strollers! Sometimes there is a reason for a dog to be in a stroller … age, mobility issues, health issues, or maybe it is just too hot to be out walking and they can’t take the heat! I was talking with a friend, and passed along some advice that I actually needed from my mom at one point… She found it really useful, so I wanted to share in case it might help somebody else! 🤍 At the time when I needed the advice, I was struggling with some comments made by people that were close to me… I took it personally, so then confided in my mom to see if I was overthinking or over reacting. This was my mom’s advice… She said that most often times, people will say things out of jealousy that reflect something they’re personally struggling with. (For example, if they criticize how often you work out, it might be because they wish they had the self discipline to do so.) Some are struggling so bad, that they want to bring you into their misery thinking… “if there’s enough people around that feel like me, then my problems are now okay”. Misery loves company. …have you ever been heard the saying “hurt people, want to hurt people” ? Thats what she was telling me. Her suggestion was to have empathy for those people, instead of taking anything personally, because……what bothers me, is actually about me. Our first 5k race together... I'm so thankful that Haze held on tight and enjoyed the ride, she held my phone blasting out her country playlist and sat back while I pushed through some big head on gusts of wind. I wasn't trying to race, but I also wasn't try to just be super leisurely about it either. We had 3.1 miles and I wanted us to go fast. Did I deliver? We averaged around 9:39/mi which I'm quite excited about since I haven't been too consistent (especially stroller running) since my half earlier this year. The best part was seeing other moms out there pushing their kiddos in strollers 🤣 lol but also both of us cheering each other on and congratulating each other on the accomplishment of getting out there and doing the dang thing If there was an age group of 1-2 year olds, let's just say we would've gotten first place 🥇
