@rachel_scott_mcdaniel is an auto-read author for me, and I’ve been looking forward to this book forever because 1)1920s 2)1920s aviation 3)1920s aviation and a married love story. Talk about #theseareafewofmyfavoritethings! This may be my favorite Rachel Scott McDaniel book yet. The mystery kept me guessing and was a good balance between suspenseful but not too dark. The aviation theme was fascinating and woven in in an interesting way without being so detailed as to become tedious. I loved the married romance and marriage restoration themes, as well as seeing Geneva mature in handling her difficult family relationships. Sunday. I went to @farmers_market_taranaki and apparently my body was saying "I need carbs!" because I got two green things from @coastalmarketgarden, and then it was baklava from a beautiful new little Persian baking stand, French pastries from @mattie_patisserie , my quick brekkie savior @honey_bear_breakfast and sourdough from @bakedbyblanche . For the record, I do have a rainbow of fruit and veg on my bench, so there will be some good nutrition happening alongside this flour fueled frenzy! Seeing how the day was young, my brood made our way over to the @theseasidemarket to sniff out the likes of @ilovelangosnz , @kpsbeef , and some little Thai food truck. Then it was off to the @homeandgardenshownz at TSB Stadium. I smelled @fork_n_knife_ / @smokemeateverydaynp 's brisket well before I was in range to order a taco and then had a taste of @junogin 's lastest beaitiful seasonal gin before continuing on to make a bucket list of home improvements that will most likely take place after my children are grown. And the last place to grab a taste to take home was @misterkskitchen stall. Sure - my favorite flavor had sold out, but that just made me happy that all those people know what I know - CHILI CHEESE IS THE BEST EVER! Got my original sea salt fix and finally decided I'd go home and contemplate what I'd make for dinner. So as those close to me (and pretty much everyone else who remotely knows of or about me) knows I absolutely adore John Wayne and Rabbits. I’ve been experiencing a few complications with my health lately (and pretty much everyone else who remotely knows of or about me) knows that isn’t too unusual After going to pick up my medicine, I hop out of the car and what do I find on the ground immediately outside my car in the parking lot? A broken but beautiful cowboy boot with “Montana” on it. I also have a rabbit named Montana. I took this as a sign that everything will be okay and I’m cautiously optimistic that it will be. Chronic Illness be damned. Sometimes life is a strange, beautiful thing that occasionally gives us a little nudge from the universe that every day is precious and that even when you feel like you’re under the heel of Jupiter’s gravity, it gets better.
