Today’s 14.8 mile route along the coast from Whitby to Robin Hood’s Bay and back, was a brilliant way to finish off a lovely family break in North Yorkshire. A circular route, I walked along the stunning coastal path from Whitby town centre to Robin Hood’s Bay. 🚂 STEAM TRAIN AT RUSWARP🚂 If you’ve been following my stories you’d see the other day I had a lovely walk through Whitby to Ruswarp and back along the path next to the railway line. It’s a perfect little walk from Whitby. There’s always lots of wildlife & birds to see by the river. There was lots of heron. We were lucky enough to see the @northyorkshiremoorsrailway steam train pass by too, heading to Whitby. A fab sight on our wander. Ruswarp is a beautiful little village & the station is so sweet. When we reached Ruswarp we also had a little stop off to relax in the beer garden at @thebridgeinn_ruswarp It was a great vibe. It was in a recent rare moment when the sun was out & great to watch the birds on the river. Also, whilst we were enjoying a drink the steam train came back so I got a few more photos from the beer garden whilst sipping a glass of fizz. Felt very summery. The beer garden is right next to the river & railway line so lots to watch whilst sipping your drink. Moonlight Moments🦉🌝 Beautiful moon above Whitby’s viaduct the other evening as I walked the path by the River Esk. The 13 arch structure was built in 1882 to carry the Scarborough & Whitby Railway over the River Esk. No longer used by trains it is now part on the cinder path. It always looks impressive & I’ve taken a few shots of it over the years but never from this angle. I was also lucky to see an owl whilst on my walk. I aim to do my 10,000 steps every day, and hands down my favourite walk from the house is along the beach towards Sandsend. But I do ring the changes every now and again and head up the 199 steps, around the Abbey, and back into town via Caedmon’s Trod.
