🌈 Understanding the Escalation Cycle 🌈 As an autism mum and wellbeing practitioner, I know first hand how crucial it is to recognise and understand the escalation cycle in our children. When our kids begin to escalate towards a meltdown or shutdown, there comes a point where they can no longer access proactive strategies or interventions. This is why early intervention is so vital! Identifying individual triggers is key, these will be unique to your child. For my child, the signs of escalation can include increased echolalia and vocal stimming, repetitive movements, hypervigilance and a heightened sensitivity to noise. Recognising these early indicators allows me to implement proactive strategies—such as visual supports, sensory tools, calm communication, and redirection to quieter environments with fewer demands—before the situation becomes overwhelming. It's also important to understand the recovery period after a meltdown or shutdown. It can take up to 72 hours for our children to fully recover. During this time, they need extra patience, support, and understanding to regain their equilibrium. This is something that I feel often gets missed - would you agree? On the weekend, we achieved outstanding results at the Australian Grappling Federation competition! We won 2nd in the adults category, 3rd in the kids category, and 2nd overall academy—an incredible accomplishment for a single club (not a franchise) and the smallest academy in Wollongong. Many of our students stepped on the mat for their first-ever competition, which is something to be immensely proud of. We are grateful for the hard work you all put in leading up to the comp, how you came together as a team to help and support one another, and the level of sportsmanship you showed to your opponents, the referees, and the organisation. Thank you to the coaches who dedicated their weekend and to the team that came along to support us. We were there in force. Small academy, big things.

Niedzielnym Cardiff Bay 10k zakończyłam sezon startów wiosennych. Tough week at the @amundigermanmasters @letgolf difficult windy conditions had to be dealt with in the first 2 days. Also I was struck with sickness right after I arrived from Korea so I had to support it with antibiotics for my physical health to get a little better. Spartan Race závodní víkend Masarykův okruh - Automotodrom Brno Zúčastnil jsem se Spartan race v Brně a jsem nadšený, že se mi podařilo dosáhnout skvělých výsledků v Age group 30-34, i když jsem absolvoval celý závodní víkend po zranění, které mě dlouho bránilo v tréninku. Zařaďte dny úplného odpočinku: Dny, kdy si úplně odpočinete od jakékoliv fyzické aktivity, jsou nezbytné pro kompletní regeneraci těla. 3. The photo vs the moment 🔥 Last week we surprised our friend for his 40th bday by joining them to Greece, something we’ve dreamt about for 4 years and something that was personally more needed than anything atm for my own physical health and wellbeing. So happy and thankful we finally made it! During this trip I asked Alex if he’s ever met anyone as amused about all the small moments as I am. We could both agree on that neither of us have. We also agreed on how wonderful it is to really fully enjoy the details and feeling happy about the simplest of things such as scents, sounds, views, angles, lights, shadows, colors, insects, objects… and how they all change by each step making me turn my head and look around and explore and embrace each moment in detail - AT. ALL. TIMES. Not convenient in a group setting, yet very valuable for my soul. That’s exactly what once made me a solo adventurer. But sharing valuable time with your best friends is incomparable! 🥰

Der Fuß wächst wieder gut zusammen, es ist nix verschoben & somit auch definitiv keine OP notwendig 🙏🏽 (nicht dass sich wieder Gerüchte verbreiten, wie ich mitbekommen hab 😉) • Darf mittlerweile sogar meinen Fuß mit der Schiene, die ich tragen muss, belasten! ☺️ Dennoch fehlt mir mittlerweile einfach die Unabhängigkeit, eigenständig Einkaufen zu gehen, Auto zu fahren, im Stehen duschen zu können etc. • Kleinigkeiten, die sonst völlig normal sind, werden oft zur Herausforderung.
