Where to Wednesday- the perfect escape to North Berwick • Definitely one of our favourite places to visit, @whitekirk_hill_ offers stunning accommodation which is only 5 miles from the centre of North Berwick. Suitable for families, couples or just friends, lodges vary in sized from 2 people to 10 people so there is certainly something for everyone. Some lodges also have hot tubs but they are all stylishly decorated and also have spectacular views. A generous space is between each accommodation to provide privacy and they all come with wifi and parking. We love self catering accommodation as, especially with a child, it gives us more flexibility- and it can often be much more affordable than several days in a hotel. The fully equipped kitchen means that if you are making your own meals, plating up a takeaway or enjoying a chef made meal in your lodge (this can be arranged) then you have everything you need to sit back, eat, drink and enjoy. Whilst we didn’t need them, a travel cot and high chair were easily available for us to use which means it’s even less that you need to pack. Whilst the lodges are spectacular, Finn is obsessed with the play barn and pool whilst I feel in love with the spa and restaurant - all too much to squeeze into one post so keep an eye for more information dropping. #Tyninghame is my favourite corner of #Eastlothian and it looked fantastic this morning in classic #sunnyscotland weather! Rather than a there-and-back again beach walk at low tides you can take a circular down limetree walk to a fantastic Scots pine lined beach of interesting rock formations. The walk around the corner to an igneous headland which you can climb to then descend onto the golden #ravensheughsands . There so much variety of #eastlothiannature in such a small place! 🏴 #Tyninghamebeach is only 7 and a half miles from the Annexe, just a short 15 minute drive. Whilst Beinn Lora may only be 308 metres high, its fine position ensures that the magnificent views from its summit match those from many a Munro. The approach uses waymarked forestry walks (most of the conifers have now been felled) but the section before the final pull up to the top is very wet. TERRAIN Good, steep path through the forest but there is an extremely boggy section beyond. PUBLIC TRANSPORT Bus from Oban. ‼️♻️Green Project Completed‼️♻️ ❗️Environmentally Friendly Holidays❗️ Here at Galloway Luxury Lodges we strive to be better all the time. At the start of this year we embarked on a renewables project to work towards being net zero♻️ We have installed solar panels to produce our own electricity to power the site, as well as battery storage to store the energy we have produced to then be used at night!! We have also installed an Electric Car Charger🚙 So you can now come in your electric car to stay with us and charge your car with the green energy that we have produced on site! The third thing we have done is fitted all of our hot tubs with Air Source Heat Pumps which has now reduced our heat up and running cost of the hot tubs by 80%. All of this now means you can holiday with peace of mind that your holiday is sustainable and having no impact on the environment. What else could you want!!
