Brillantenträger General Ramcke, Schwerterträger Kurt "Panzermeyer" Meyer und die Schwerter aus Torpedostahl.... Als Kurt Meyer aus dem Gefangenenlager zur Verhandlung geführt wurde, ging Ramcke auf in zu und nahm ihn an seine Seite. Er gab Meyer sein Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern, ebenso seine Feldmütze. Er sagte zu Meyer, so könne er sich in voller militärischer Haltung vor seinen Richtern und Entführern präsentieren. Einen Monat später wurde Meyer zum Tode verurteilt. Meyer traf seinen 10 Jahre alten Sohn zum ersten Mal im Gefängnis und gab ihm Ramckes Ritterkreuz, er sollte es seiner Schwester zur Aufbewahrung für Ramcke geben.. Im Laufe der Jahre vergaßen seine Kinder jedesmal, wenn sie Onkel Ramcke sahen, die Auszeichnung zurückzugeben, wie ihr Vater es gewünscht hatte. Nach Meyers Entlassung und bei einem Wiedersehen mit Ramcke, erzählte Meyer auf der Bühne diese Geschichte, und dann präsentierte er das RK und gab es zurück an General der Fallschirmtruppe Hermann-Bernhard Ramcke. Dann sagte Ramcke zu Meyer... "Diese Dekoration, die Sie in den schwersten Stunden getragen haben und über die Ihr Sohn heiligen Wache gehalten hat, mein lieber Panzermeyer, möchten Sie mir zurück geben? Diese Schwerter haben meine Männer aus der Stahlkopf eines Torpedos in der Festung Brest gebaut. Willi Müller: Vom Pionier-Bataillon in der Normandie zum Panzerjagdkommando in Sachsen. Er ist einer der letzten noch lebenden Zeitzeugen der Kampfhandlungen in der Normandie. Er erlebte hautnah die erbitterten Abwehrkämpfe an den Folgetagen der Landung der Alliierten in Frankreich mit. Seine Feuertaufe war am 12. Juni 1944. Diese und noch andere Ereignisse schildert er detailliert in seinem Buch. Beigelegt ist ein persönlich signiertes Soldatenphoto von ihm. Willi Müller, Jahrgang 1926, meldete sich im Jahr 1943 freiwillig und erlebte nach seiner Grundausbildung im böhmischen Pikowitz beim Pionier-Ausbildungs- und Ersatzbataillon 2 die erbitterten Abwehrkämpfe an der Westfront als Angehöriger der Panzergrenadier-Division „Götz von Berlichingen“. Nach seiner Verwundung und dem anschließenden Genesungsprozeß führte ihn sein Weg nach Sachsen, wo er in den letzten Kriegswochen einem Panzerjagdkommando zugeteilt wurde. Das Kriegsende erlebte er im nordböhmischen Bruch am Fuße des Erzgebirges, von wo aus er einen beschwerlichen Rückmarsch von rund 600 Kilometern in seine Heimat, den Hunsrück, antrat. As I promised, another post, this time back to the classics. But at the same time, as usual, I couldn't build the regular version, so I present to you StuH 42 late war! As with all my StuGs, I was inspired by the model designed by @panzer.bricklabs_1944. I really wanted to use a custom barrel that I have had for some time and I am a big fan of the late-war look of German tanks, which is why there is no muzzle brake and the Schürzen is only painted with primer. The first edition of Ciney Militaria 2024! A lot of original uniforms, headgear, books and so on! there is also a lot of replica, for reenactment this is heaven on earth! I bought some really cool stuff that i will share later! Question: The painting of the last slide i almost bought but i didn’t. The story is, it comes from an NS office building in Berlin in 1945, Soviet soldiers took it. In the 2010s it allegedly was found in an attic of an old man.. the guy who was selling it here says he bought it from a Russian family.. It looks like an Elk Eber or something of the likes! The price was not extremely high, it was still expensive, could this be the case? Or is it a replica? Siebelferrie series part XI Metal beam connected leichte Ponton 40 siebelferrie General information: In order to have enough landing craft for Operation Sea Lion (conquest of the British Isles), a quick, simple solution was needed. Colonel Siebel (who was the owner of a aircraft factory „Siebel-Flugzeugwerke“) used the engineers‘ heavy bridge equipment. He connected two pontoon ferries with steel girders. The ferries were powered by 2x75 hp (later up to 500 hp) V-8 engines at the rear and by 3 BMW aircraft engines of 300 hp each. There was the Siebel ferry 40 and 41. But it was supposed to become much more than a temporary solution... This ferrie: After the Gebert ferries, this first Siebel ferrie was invented by Siebel. He had the idea to Build new and bigger ferries for the sea lion landing operation. He used some of this „leichte Ponton 40“ and connected it with metal beams. This ferrie had no platform between the pontoons. The BMW aircraft engine was taken on the beams. So at sea it was hard to repair for example. And this ferrie had not much space. Personal and vehicles were placed on the pontoons only. It was incapable to transport heavy trucks and tanks. There are documents -this ferrie existed- but no photos of the ferrie in the done state stadium. So I don‘t know where the cockpit was and so I don’t builded it. I think it was only at the end of one of the two pontoons.
