Comento esto porque he encontrado paralelismos con Salvaje, de Cheryl Strayed, y La sociedad de la nieve, de Pablo Vierci. Las circunstancias de estas dos historias son diferentes a las de McCandless, pero todos tienen en común el elemento reparador que sus protagonistas (o casi todos) sintieron cuando dejaron atrás la civilización. Hacia rutas salvajes es un libro que te atrapa desde el principio y todo esto se debe a la figura de Chris McCandless. Su imagen se mueve entre la realidad y el mito y esto lo convierte en una incógnita. Es una lectura apasionante y os la recomiendo porque, ante todo, habla del ser humano y de los anhelos que guarda en su interior. Recently I’ve been re-editing the photos from my hike to Magic Bus 142 in 2014. Ai is an interesting beast, on one hand I can’t stand ai images, they look like something from a plastic dystopian nightmare. On the other there is amazing ai based software that is able to rebuild pixels in compressed images. As such, I can now rework old images even if I’ve lost the RAW files. I had a lot of fun with this photo, sometimes you spend an hour delicately tweaking an image only to realize that it works better when you desaturated 80% of it. Dzień dobry wszystkim! 😄 Dziś mam dla Was recenzje wyjątkowej historii opisanej przez @krakauernotwriting ( @wydawnictwoczarne ) pod tytułem "Wszystko za Życie". ❤ Historia Chrisa jest uczuciowa, naturalna, wzruszająca i poruszajaca, ale ta sama historia jest także bardzo trudna przez wzgląd na to jaki był sam Chris. Historia Chrisa "Alexandra Supertramp'a" McCandlessa jest prawdziwa. Mieliście kiedyś myśl żeby rzucić wszystko i zmienić swoje życie z dnia na dzień? Chyba każdemu z nas co jakiś czas takie myśli pojawiają się w głowie, ale kto zmienił to w czyny? Historia Chrisa jest postrzegana dwuznacznie, dla mnie jest inspiracją do zmian w swoim życiu i rozpoczęcia nawet najbardziej absuradlnych przygód. Dla innych Chris był narcyzem i zadufanym w sobie arogantem. Dla mnie Chris jest człowiekiem ideii, kimś kto mimo ze już nie żyje to wyprzedza pokolenie młodych ludzi XXI wieku w myśleniu i postrzeganiu świata. 🤯 Chris żył na swoich zasadach, a mogę powiedzieć nawet więcej (co pewnie nie wszyscy zrozumieją), on umarł na własnych zasach. Umarł tak jak żył, po swojemu i w zgodzie z naturą. 💚 Bardzo ważnym bohaterem książki jest także właśnie przyroda, a w szczególności ta surowa Alaskańska dzicz oraz ten jeden stalowy punkcik na jej mapie nazywany "Busem 142". Wspaniała personifikacja obu tych rzeczy! 🚌🏔 Jednak wszystko co napisałem dotyczy samej historii "Alexandra Supertrampa", książka jest trochę inna. Problemem książki jest ilość dodatków wokół tak wspaniałej historii która jest jedyna w swoim rodzaju. Wszystko to spowodowało według mnie dość mocne spłaszczenie charakteru książki co jest dużym minusem. Ocena książki: 4/5 ⭐ Na podstawie książki powstał także film pod tym samym tytułem który bardzo Wam polecam! I first heard of Chris McCandless’ story upon watching a YouTube video titled “The Man Who Stepped Off The Earth”, a young man who decides to leave society and everything behind and head into the wilderness. I have been intrigued ever since and curious to know more about what led this young man from a well to do family into the wild. Currently halfway through this book and Jon Krakauer is doing a fantastic job at telling Chris’s (or Alex,) detailed story and I’m understanding more and more the reasonings behind the choices and decisions he made.

Trudne podsumowanie. Jak w kilku słowach podsumować łącznie 15 miesięcy w podróży campervanem po Stanach… Takiej, co ją spokojnie można nazwać podróżą życia. Która moje życie zmieniła na zawsze i nieodwracalnie. Choć Stany (raczej) nie są dla mnie miejscem do życia na stałe, to moje serce jeszcze nigdy nie było tak rozdarte, jak teraz. Do tej pory nigdzie indziej nie znalazłam takiego piękna, różnorodności, przestrzeni, wolności, dzikich zwierząt, i takich ludzi. Nigdzie nie było mi tak dobrze. Nigdy tyle nie przeżyłam! Nieprawdopodobnie dużo się nauczyłam, robiłam rzeczy, które wcześniej mi się nie śniły, które wydawały się nieosiągalne. Biwakowałam sama pośrodku niczego, wśród misiów i łosi, przemierzałam setki kilometrów zdana tylko na siebie. Dowiedziałam się, czym naprawdę jest dbanie o przyrodę, czym jest idea parków narodowych, jak się po nich poruszać, nie zadeptywać, nie przeszkadzać zwierzętom. Chciałabym, żeby kiedyś i u nas tak było. Nigdy nie zapomnę trekkingu przez Wielki Kanion, kilku tygodni spędzonych w Yosemite, pustkowi Utah i Arizony, Doliny Śmierci, dzikości Jukonu (Kanada). Montany - mojego drugiego domu i pracy na ranczu, a może to Alaska nim jest, zwłaszcza zimą, już sama nie wiem. Spełniłam niespełnialne marzenia! Nadal w to wszystko nie wierzę! Do ludzi miałam ogromne szczęście. Kilka tylko osób było niemiłych, niedobrych, ale raczej nie groźnych. Nigdy z ich strony nie stała mi się krzywda. To też dlatego, że byłam ostrożna jak nigdy i słuchałam intuicji, której w różnych kwestiach słucham za rzadko. Sama kobieta w vanie, czy to wśród ludzi czy pośrodku niczego - musi uważać potrójnie. The story of Chris McCandless that was popularized in the book and film Into The Wild were very big inspirations for me moving to Canada. I travelled to Alaska from Canada at the end of my first visa for the sole reason of seeing the bus with my eye own eyes. It was a two-day hike to get to the bus, 52km total round trip. Crossing the Teklanika River was exceptionally difficult and nearly forced us to turn back (several people have died attempting to cross). Sleeping in the bus was most peaceful, tranquil rest of my entire life. In such a busy world it felt like I was in the exact place I was meant to be. I was still quite pretty new to photography at the time, I had my old Canon 7D Mk 1. This was the very first photo I took of the bus that I captured it within a few minutes of arriving. The quality of the photo isn’t very good, I used to shoot on JPEG instead of RAW (like an idiot). This image is my favourite of the entire trip, I love the way the afternoon sun is hitting the bus. Alaska really is amazing. The Christopher Johnson McCandless Memorial Foundation is donating $125,000 to the project. That money will be used to help build an open-air pavilion to display Bus 142. That bus was made famous by the book by Jon Krakauer and the movie "Into the Wild." They're based on the true story of Christopher McCandless, a man who came to Alaska, got lost, and eventually died inside the abandoned bus. This week, the chatter around our breakfast table has centered around the new lease of life to be given to the disused public bus on the Stampede Trail near Denali National Park — made famous by the “Into the Wild” movie about the intrepid adventurer Chris McCandless who went by the pseudonym Alexander Supertramp. During the quieter years of the pandemic, our family had found time to visit Alaska over the summer where we got to experience the vastness of its wilderness and fell in love with Denali and its environs. We also visited the Museum of the North @alaskamuseum — the new home of Fairbanks Bus 142 — that does a marvelous job telling the cultural and geographical history of the 49th state. Living in the Hudson Valley reminds us of some of the joys that Alaska brings: the simple pleasures that nature brings, the healing powers of quiet and peace, and how good it is to be able to live off the land and sea.
