After 2 weeks away on holiday / being stranded, with afternoon Bacardi’s and the mini dessert evening buffet, I don't feel in too bad shape, and I have not put on any weight. How this is done….. Daily exercise on holiday is NON NEGOTIABLE. We had a 7am alarm every morning and did some form of run, walk or gym session. DAILY EXERCISE WAS A HIGHLIGHT of the holiday - NOT A CHORE. Breakfast everyday at 9:30am consisted of an abundance of high quality PROTEIN and nutrition. Eggs, Smoked Salmon, Omelettes, Turkey, Fruit, Avocado, Coffee, Water. NO LUNCH 3pm A few too many Bacardis with Diet Coke. DINNER once again and abundance of high quality PROTEIN and nutrition……but with a daily injection of 3 - 5 mini tasting desserts. We always tend to book half board in great hotels, because @fitforeverpaul likes and needs to eat a lot of food. This means that I can chose to eat the way I like to from the abundance of wonderful food on offer. Meats, Fish, Salads, Fruit….and some mini desserts. But…the truth is that after 5 days of daily alcohol and desserts, we both wanted to reign things in, and chose not to drink alcohol as much, or have desserts. We both knew that the sugar and alcohol were not making us feel that great or LOOK that great either. After our full day at DUBAI airport and the realisation that we were stranded for possibly another week with no idea when we would get our luggage back…… We went shopping the next day and bought TRAINERS and GYM KIT. There was no way that either of us wanted to not be able to exercise. It was never a consideration to try to manage without being able to exercise daily. To have this way of living so ingrained is a gift - but it is a gift that has been honed with year after year of educating ourselves, and putting into practice everything that we have taught ourselves. I only started to exercise after my second child. I was around 27. Until that I had barely done anything. Roll on 23 years later and daily exercise and great nutrition is as much of a habit as sleeping is for me. The sooner you start consistent good habits, the more chance you have of them becoming ingrained into your daily routine.

Reflecting on Thailand: how to have fun, but stay healthy, on holiday 🏝️ Not gonna sit here and preach to you and say you need to eat chicken and 🥦 all holiday just to stay on track. But, if you want to set yourself up for a successful trip without coming home feeling rubbish, here’s a few tips from my recent holiday to Thailand: ☑️ Workout 🏋️‍♀️ soon after landing I highly recommend this as a way to reduce jet lag, set you up for a healthy holiday and to give you a quick feel-good victory! ☑️ Plan a few gym sessions during your stay You don’t need to train like a young Ronnie Coleman on your vacay but exploring a local gym or hotel gym is a great way to keep up your fitness routine. My workouts were no longer than 40 mins. Trained 4-5 times in 12 days but tbf there’s not much else to do on Koh Phangah island 😂 ☑️ Eat mostly local whole foods, and ask for sauces and oils on the side If you eat most meals at local restaurants who use local ingredients you can’t go too far wrong. I generally avoided fried food and stuff that looked oily. Ate plenty of fish, chicken and meat with loads of 🥗 and rice. No meal was boring. ☑️ Have fun I had a couple of🍻 most nights. I rarely drink at home so it’s a nice treat for me. Had some ice cream. A slice of cake. Probably every day. Live a little! ☑️ Do activities that get you moving I’m no longer interested in sun lounger holidays (probably because I live in a hot country anyway), so we tended do do some activities most days that at least got us moving - walking some dogs at 🐶 shelter, petting some 🐘 or take a Muay Thai class. It was a bit too hot for just walking, so that was a bit limited. Find these holiday tips helpful? If so, press follow and give me a like :-) #holidayhealthtips #holidayfitness #holidayfitnessgoals

While celebrating the holidays and enjoying the festivities is important, a few tips can help you stay on track with your alcohol intake. - Recognize peer pressure! Consider non-alcoholic drinks and enjoy them in a wine glass or champagne flute to “fit in” - Set a drinking limit before each event or set a time when you’ll stop drinking - Alternate your alcoholic beverages with a glass of water - Try limiting your alcoholic drinks to weekends only or save them for a special occasion - Pace yourself and drink slowly. Try to limit yourself to no more than 1 drink per hour. As always, be smart and be safe, by planning a way home in advance. #Newtopia #HabitChange #HabitChangeProvider #HealthTips #HolidayHealthTips

The winter months are known for serving sickness on a silver platter. Pair frigid temperatures with irregular sleep cycles, fewer than the daily recommended servings of fruits and vegetables, one too many glasses of wine and a whirlwind social calendar, and you’ll find yourself sipping the perfect cocktail for a Christmas common cold. But a stuffy nose isn’t the only health risk at this time of year—the holidays can be hazardous to your health, affecting everything from blood pressure to your psyche. During this time of indulgence it’s important to think about purpose. This does not need to be an all or nothing thing. Make purposeful choices and see positive results. Don’t ignore sickness symptoms to the point it becomes something bigger. Be mindful of how you’re feeling and how you’re supporting your health. #indulgewithpurpose #mindfulhealth #familypractice #holidayhealthtips #meridianidaho #isumeridianhealthcare

Tips 👇🏽 for eating healthy at Christmas!🎄 💧Drink lots of water! Drinking at least 64 oz before gathering will help control cravings and overeating. 💧Keep a water bottle in your dominate hand to avoid mindless snacking! You can drink the water instead and if your hand is busy your not reaching for unhealthy foods. 🚫 DO NOT save up calories by starving yourself for your Thanksgiving meal. By the time you eat your starving=bad choices and over eating. 🍎 Fuel your body every 2-3 hours with healthy small mini meals (almonds, string cheese, turkey, fuelings). 🍽 Choose a smaller plate and look at all your food options before piling food on the plate. Fill your plate with healthy options like turkey, small amount of ham, veggies. 🍲If you love stuffing, sweet potatoes, etc- put 2-3 bites on your plate and eat it slowly. Avoid talking so you can savor these bites. 👅Taste sensation comes in the first 2-3 bites and after that your just eating just to eat. 🥧Avoid trigger foods that you know are your downfall. If you don’t think you can have 2-3 bites without derailing then avoid completely! Sugar is highly addictive. 😴Avoid the carb coma so you can enjoy your day with friends and family! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Make the holiday about family and friends and NOT the food. ☝🏻Lastly, if you have friends or family that struggle with accepting your healthy choices or pressure you to sidetrack enlighten them. Explain to them that you’re working very hard on your health and it’s very important for you to maintain your healthy habits and for others to respect that. Merry Christmas my friends🎅🏻🎁🎄🌟🙏🏻 #weightlossjourney #healthyeatingtips #weightlosstip #holidayhealth #holidayhealthtips

Heads up! Dos you know that on Christmas Day between fires in the fireplace, cooking, candles, running the heat, Christmas trees and all the people and gifts, it has one of the highest levels of indoor pollution out of any day of the year, right up there with Thanksgiving? We’re not being Scrooge here. The information is empowering. Just open a door or window for 5-10 minutes or take a quick walk outside. It’s worth it. Be especially mindful of ventilating the kitchen where all the cooking is taking place. 🎄🙌🏻 #holidayhealthtips #holidayhealth #freshairclub #quicktips

Merry Christmas DCIM Family and our shared community! I am so very thankful for the opportunity to serve you and share your health journey with you - thank you for the incredible honour. For what it’s worth, here is my top health tip for the holidays: GIVE YOURSELF GRACE. Grace to eat the way that feels good in the moment. Grace to love yourself for the sharp bits that arise as you navigate the holiday waters. Grace when you feel uncertain to shine your incredible light and beauty into what is sometimes a dark world around you, and you have the courage to shine anyway. Grace to know that despite it all, your body will have your back and it innately knows how to heal. GIVE YOURSELF GRACE for this and more. I look so forward to seeing you all in the New Year (we re-open January 2nd at 9am)! Merry Christmas 🎄 ❤️✨

Many different viruses spread more during fall and winter, including those that cause flu, COVID-19, and RSV illness. Large gatherings, crowded travel, and more time indoors can mean more viruses spreading around the holidays. This is the first year that there are vaccines to protect against all three of these viruses and ensure you can enjoy valuable time with loved ones. There also are other healthy habits you can practice to stay healthy. #msceal #holidayhealthtips

During the holiday season, there may be a lot of changes in the home due to guests and family. Children thrive with consistent schedules, and routines. I would highly recommend that your child stay on schedule throughout the day and night. Communicate with them the day of any changes that will occur. By communicating, you are showing respect to your child, and offering a sense of security. If you don't already use a visual schedule, create one for the holiday season and add SPECIAL events such as visitors and or family coming to the home. If you are traveling with your child, bring things that offer them security, such as a favorite book, toy and or blanket. We're here to guide you through with a few simple tips to help you enjoy the holidays while keeping your weight loss goals on track: 1. Portion Control is Key: Enjoy your favorite holiday dishes by serving smaller portions. This way, you can taste everything without overindulging. 2. This not only enhances your enjoyment but also helps you more easily recognize when you're full. 5. Bring a Healthy Dish: If you're attending a potluck, bring a healthy dish. It ensures you'll have at least one nutritious option. 6. Balance is Everything: It's okay to indulge a little, but balance is the key. Enjoy the flavors of the holidays in moderation. It’s the season. As you navigate changes to your routine due to work holidays, travel, visiting friends or family, parties, and more, keep these tips in mind. For your well-being, heathy boundaries don’t stop during the holidays. That doesn’t mean you’re rigid and can’t be flexible, it does mean you hold firm on what you need to be healthy and feel well. #boundariesarehealthy #boundarysetting #holidayhealthtips #healthyholidays #bsonburnout #burnoutprevention #tipsforbusinessowners

Things to remember this holiday season🎄 ✨You don’t have to go to every event. Saying no is allowed. You know your limits and those of your children, best. ✨Gift giving is supposed to be fun loving and thoughtful, not detremental to your finances. ✨Social media is great for inspirtation but remember trends are just that, a trend. Not every family looks the same. ✨A messy house is a lived in house. You don’t need to have a spotless home to be an all star mom. . . . . #mentalhealth #holidayhealthtips #mentalhealthtips #selfcare #maternalmentalhealth #holidayseason

Here’s my unconventional holiday eating tip: focus on a paradigm shift, keeping health in its rightful place which is needing attention but not focus. What do I mean by that? Let me just come right out and say it, if health is your focus this season, it’s wrong. 🫣 Health, while deserving of our attention, should not be the focus. Our focus should be reserved for our life’s purpose. So when we focus on calories and cookies and what we did or didn’t do during the holiday season instead of the reason for the season (Christ’s birth), that creates space for holiday overwhelm, problems, and drama taking center stage. Which brings me to these unconventional holiday eating tips. Focusing on good or bad, right or wrong without shifting your perspective around what health is never works. This year, focus on that paradigm shift—keeping health in it’s rightful place, needing attention but not focus. Say yes to living in the moment, creating memories, and yes to opportunities. Keep in touch with how you feel day to day and attend to your body by keeping it nourished, but keep your focus on the reason for the season. . #paradigmshift #holidayhealthtips #holidayhealth #mindsetshift #mindbodysoul
