✳️I decided to make this overview of vitamin D and magnesium as both are extremely essential for our health and most people are defficient in either of them or both and these are the only two things I usually recommend to supplement. ✳️In one of my older posts I talked about different magnesium types as it might be confusing to decide which one to get, alternatively you can ask your doctor for recommendations as some of them are available only via prescription. ✳️In my experience taking vitamin D3 daily is necessary all year long, most people dont get even slightly enough of it whether its due to low sun exposure or bad diet. For those of us living in Iceland it should be as important to take vitamin D3 as drinking water every day ❤️ ✳️ Health is all about getting enough vitamins, minerals and eating nutrient densed food, not about counting calories. Some highlights from the first day of our April Wellness Retreat 2024 It was a busy day starting with a spinal articulation sequence, gentle yoga flow and breathwork practice. After a delicious breakfast of green smoothies, yogurt and fruit pot served with granola we showed guests around the village and walked or ran the Forna loop with them. This was followed by a walk up to the Castle to admire the stunning views of The Valley below and the little village of Forna. It was pretty hot by the time we did a strength session with fitness bands @mymeglio but everyone loved the versatility and practicalities of band workouts. @mymeglio After a delicious healthy and nutritious lunch, my good friend and guest of several years @petabee1 did a talk on bone health and then we let the guests relax, swim and sunbath before a fabulous Pilates stretch class with @pilatessue and a meditation session with sound bowls with Annie. Evening drinks around the pool were followed by a delicious meal and an early night so guests could relax and recover ready for the activities of Day 2! A little story about this photo… This is was me back in October 2022 i won my first ever @cavefit competition! Prior to and leading up to this photo I was in one of the lowest mental states I’ve ever experienced I was having panic attacks, I didn’t want to socialise, I felt alone and isolated a lot of the time I was seeking help through therapy and life coaching in order to help me process all that was happening in my life at that time In August 2022 I decided I wanted to start strength training so joined cavefit and got myself a pt (@laura.cavefit) and i’ve never looked back since! but it wasn’t easy by any means, for about the first month of joining the gym I had anxiety attacks however I didn’t let it stop me! reflections on my 28th birthday 💭 😳 it’s coming up on 10 years since i graduated high school.. HOW is that even possible 🪻 i am not the same person i was a decade ago and that’s ok because i’ve grown 🌼 the Lord is faithful to keep His promises and in every season He is GOOD even when you feel like giving up 🌿 health is a journey and the the little things matter—i’m so proud of how far i’ve come. 🤍 jesus, family + friends still remain the most important things in my life ⛅️ life is way too short and goes by way too fast but thankfully we have an even better eternity to look forward to 🍵 matcha + boba are def my latest obsession 💻 starting a business is NOT easy but i’m so thankful for the opportunity to do what i love and help others in a way that could change their life the same way that it’s changed mine 🥰 my hubby has my whole heart and is still my absolute favorite person in the entire world
