Absolutely! There's no evidence to suggest feeding frozen food is bad for dogs. Whilst you don't want to just give your dog a big block of frozen food which could damage teeth, freezing food for enrichment is a great way to change things up. In puzzle feeders, lick mats or slow feeders freezing food or broth in them gives your dog an extra challenge. It slows down how quickly they can eat their food which in turn aids their digestion. It provides more mental stimulation as they have to work harder to get their food. It can help reduce anxiety and boredom as they are occupied for longer. A great option to slow down meals for raw feeders or wet feeders when many puzzle toys are not suitable. The exceptions to this are if there is poor dental health and therefore increased risk of broken teeth - you should talk to your vet for advice if this is the case. Food Chaining: Finding ways to link foods together! ⛓ Start with current accepted foods and make small changes or introductions to new foods based in similarities in: * Taste * Temperature * Texture * Shape * & Color Increasing the number of preferred foods in their repertoire can be challenging. But using food chaining can make that process a little smoother. Remember that it is a process, and you can make changes as small as you need to. The main point is not to give your child any pressure when eating, but instead make mealtimes positive. When a child feels pressured to eat, this may actually decrease their likelihood of eating! Additionally, pressure may cause your child to feel anxious and stressed, resulting in aversive emotions towards food. I understand parents are not intentionally making their child feel anxious/pressured when eating. I'm sure you only want what's best for your little one! With that said, don't feel bad if you've said these phrases before.
