Delicate Arch, situated in the Arches National Park near Moab, this awe-inspiring sandstone arch stands 52 feet tall and spans 32 feet across, providing a stunning and unforgettable sight. The arch’s striking formation and rust-red coloration are a testament to the gradual yet profound effects of natural erosion, a true marvel of geological processes. Thousands of visitors (including myself) embarked on the trail to the Delicate Arch each year, eager to witness this marvel and capture memories that will last a lifetime. In the grand tapestry of Utah’s remarkable landscapes, the arch remains an enduring symbol of the state’s immense natural beauty. How to Pick the Perfect Elopement Date 💍🗓️ While it might be tempting to choose a memorable date, you might be better served letting Mother Nature help pick the date for you. (A) First think about the place(s) you might elope at. (B) What’s the seasonal weather patterns for that location? What weather are you okay with? For instance, if you like the rain, you can have the best waterfalls in Hawaii to yourself in the rainy season. If you hate the heat, don’t plan on Southern Utah anytime between May and September. (C) What’s the visitation in that area like? Do most visitors visit in the summer or at sunset? Would you have the park to yourself in January? Some parks have heavy visitation during certain times of the year or hours of the day (I’m looking at you—Yosemite Fire Fall!), which can be nice to avoid on your big day. Parks tend to be less crowded Tuesday-Thursday before 10am. (D) Now that you’ve avoided hypothermia and a bout of claustrophobia, let’s think about personal ideals: what’s best with your work schedule? If you have guests joining, when are they free? Maybe pick a date you love! Sometimes this step needs to take priority (heaven knows some of you have crazy work schedules—am I right my nurse friend?!). If you CAN only get married on a Saturday afternoon in July, maybe skip the popular parks right on the beach or in the desert and opt for a lesser-known spot with some shade or cooler temperatures.
